Would you drop from 6 to 8 if Carolina coughed up next year's second rounder? i would think thats an easy yes

Would you drop to 15 if NE offered their first and second next year? thats tempting...

Both would be an easy yes.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Eh... I see what you’re saying but if you see a QB that you like as a franchise guy, you take him. There’s no saying what the future may hold.

Although it does seem teams like the Bucs, Chiefs, 17 Eagles, Broncos, and Seahawks all had a ton of talent in place when they got their QB and won.

then you have to spend to get those weapons again, i would rather draft the weapons and get a qb in the second or third round, it puts the qb in a better position to win rather than forcing the qb to be that guy to make lower round receivers great especially if that qb doesnt have the talent to do that.

FWIW, Howie's and the FO's best decisions were made when he had strong football knowledge and experience around him.  Last season was a perfect example of what happens when you let him run the circus.

So you are referring to Joe Douglas who I think is doing a fine job with the Jets although he has a lot more in the bank to work with

Howie will want smoke out there about drafting a qb to see what offers he can get to trade down, i suspect.

I don't think the Eagles would come out and "deny it" because it strengthens the value of their pick, imo.

Only 3 QBs drafted in the top 10 have won a superbowl over the last 20 years

So either build a great D , or wait until Arch Manning is draft eligible and goes top 10

4, Mahomes was the 10th ovr pick. But yes fully agree.

The rumors are being fueled by online mock draft guys that assume the Eagles will pick a QB since they traded Wentz.  And by those not sold on Hurts.  That's it.  None of it is coming from the Eagles, imo.

There should be an investigation on drafting Hurts, who and why.  That is the reason for the drama leading to the shake-up on the roster.

If they draft another QB again right after Wentz departure, it is the repeat of the drama of drafting Hurts.  If they don't learn from the lesson, then there is a bigger problem than we know.

if i had to go by the division games, our defense can hold them but our offense is the problem, that's why i say go all offense in this draft.

O should get the benefit of the doubt in today’s NFL

Eh that’s because Brady won half of them

When Hurts was drafted Wentz was pissed. The Philly Voice stories. The reports that Wentz stopped talking to Doug. Not liking the hard coaching from Flip. Reluctance to accept responsibility for his poor play.

You insist on citing only one side of the story. Until we hear from Doug and Wentz this is just  speculation.

From Matt miller’s mock draft

6. Philadelphia Eagles — QB Trey Lance, North Dakota State

If you aren’t sure your guy at quarterback is theguy, you better make a move to improve the position. The new Eagles’ head coaching staff is not tied to Jalen Hurts and general manager Howie Roseman is tied to no one, it seems. This wouldn’t be my pick—I’d give Hurts a year to prove himself and add DeVonta Smith (WR, Alabama), but this pick has a ton of buzz right now.

I hate to admit this but, I like Lance, quite a bit. But I have a funny feeling Howie would love Fields...

Absolutely 100% to both. We are in complete rebuild mode and need a ton of players.

Right, he has one draft thus far. I thought Becton was a great pick and Mims fell right into their lap. I'd take Mims over Reagor right now.

I am curious what we could get from Jalen Hurts in a trade, should we want to use the 6th overall pick on a QB. Hurts should enough that he has trade value. He's already a good backup QB and competent spot-starter. If a team with a shaky QB situation OR an aging QB (Pittsburgh, Chicago, Carolina, SF, NE) doesn't have a QB solution by April, he might be able to fetch a 2nd/3rd back.

This is what I don't understand about some of the "die hard" Wentz defenders.  Most (including myself) would have been fine with keeping Wentz and seeing how things worked out between him and the new coaching staff and (possibly) an "open competition" in camp between him and Hurts.  But for most "Wentz defenders" any sort of criticism of Wentz' play or even the thought of having an "open competition" between him and Hurts was considered "Wentz bashing".    And even if someone told them that he didn't want to be here, they still refused to believe it.   It truly became "cultish" with some of the "die hard" Wentz defenders, imo.   And now, those same "die hard" Wentz defenders are doing everything in their power to bash Hurts.  It's as if they blame Hurts for Wentz' fall in Philadelphia.

When the going gets tough the tough get going ... 1 way ticket to Indy maam please

Yep.  And since it’s behind closed doors.  How do you know what he did or didn’t say?  Are you going by those unnamed sources again?  The ones Chris Long talked about?   Until someone has the stones to put their name on a quote, I’m gonna choose to believe those who have spoke out in the media.  Long,  Kelce, Graham and others.   You really think the Carson Wentz the public has seen is that much different behind closed doors?  Does he come off that complex?  Hokie?  Sure.

The truth is likely "somewhere in the middle", imo..like it usually is.  Wentz could have likely had a dozen (or more) supporters on the team...most of which were part of the 2017 team but since then, he may have lost support by some of those guys and likely by a few of the "newer" guys as well.  (Losing does that to a team).  And at the end of the day, Wentz probably wanted "out" of Philly, imo.

Lance seems to have the talent. But he's got to become a pocket passer or he will have a short career.

People complain about Hurts being a running QB.  Trey runs just as much but doesn't have the frame to hold up as well against that punishment in the NFL level.

thats wishful thinking, i am afraid. if we could dump him for a 2022 pick that would be a victory

for the record i am very skeptical of picking Lance. put me down for a "nope"

Fields i think can be a good qb. Wilson i just havent seen enough but am wary of him too.
