Back to some posts saying that only 4 top 10 QBs have won Super Bowls. That is true but that’s thanks to the anomaly that is Tom Brady.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

You insist on citing only one side of the story. Until we hear from Doug and Wentz this is just  speculation.

Sure, but does that mean people should ignore that side? Of course not.

Besides, Wentz already admitted there was some truth to the Philly Voice report.

Right, he has one draft thus far. I thought Becton was a great pick and Mims fell right into their lap. I'd take Mims over Reagor right now.

I wouldn’t but we’ll see, a player will look better the more successful his team is. Both will need decent QB play

Tucker is shifted to LG. They need to try and stay elite inside, Brooks is getting older, more expensive and has serious injuries the past few years combined with his other issues.
Marshall fits Siri's WR mold and he could easily be our best WR as a rookie.
I was torn between LB and CB after that pick but CB is just so barren and is the more important position, so went Stokes who has the measurables the D coordinator wants.
Holland and Hufanga gives us a pair of starting safety's that are interchangeable and versatile in the secondary. Hufanga plays with the nasty streak and violence I want back in this secondary.
McGrone breathes life into our long lost LB position.
Hill compliments Sanders just fine and is a three down player that can catch the ball.
Dazz is a slot style player that's tough and gives his all, excellent hands and can return punts. Ward upgrade.
Hawkins is our version of Hines and competes with Scott. RB position is exciting again.
The final two picks are defensive competition.
We also snag a Jets 2nd for 2022.

for the record i am very skeptical of picking Lance. put me down for a "nope"

Fields i think can be a good qb. Wilson i just havent seen enough but am wary of him too.

Would the Eagles even have the balls to draft a QB from NDSU a couple of months after trading Wentz?

We could have gone elsewhere in round 1, or trade back and still got a Mims with our second. I'm not a Reagor believer but I'll stay hopeful.

People complain about Hurts being a running QB.  Trey runs just as much...

(And passes for less yards).

I have a feeling the "Lance love" is coming from Wentz fans from North Dakota/Bison fans that are now Eagles fans but since Wentz is gone, they now want another Bison QB.  Just a guess.

Lance was considered a borderline mid-late 1st round pick up until about 2 months ago.  The amount of exposure he's received over the past 2 months has elevated him to potentially a top 10 pick.  Say what you want about Bison fans, they certainly know how to "pump up" their QB's.

If Lance is the GUY, you draft him regardless of his jersey.

Not drafting a player because they went to a specific school is dumb.

Doesn't help your point , the anomaly was a 6th rd pick

You dont need a top 10 QB in the draft to win it all.

Build a all around good team , and find a qb out of top 10  or bring a vet in , after the rest of team is in place.

So uncoachable, ok. Why blame all 3 for 1’s failings ? Wish him luck and kiss him goodbye. Bigger than the whole organization my a**

First wasn’t always uncoachable hence 2016 and 2017 he was fine with the coaching around him and they got the most out of him. It took time to get there which falls on both Carson and the eagles. I actually suggest listening to caplan and mosher’s emergency podcast cause it discusses the coaching/coachability in detail and how it falls on the eagles coaches, organization and wentz for arriving to that point. And they talked about it for months.

That said when mosher, caplan, Ray didinger, Zach berman and jaws call it organizational failure i tend to to agree. I don’t pretend the eagles are just innocent bystanders in this failure.

Raise a glass. Go get yourself a Geno's sammidge and woof it down under the "Kobe" mural.

How? In the past 8 Super Bowls there has been 1 where a top 10 QB had nothing to do with their team making it to the Super Bowl.

If you think Hurts is the guy, you go with him. If you think there is a better option available, you take it. This isn’t that hard or complicated as some of you are making it

That’s what I was talkin’ bout, frustrated Rodgers should be available in 2024

(and I’m guessing lurie knows what is and isn’t true) and them leaking out.

Or the other possibility is that Lurie had intentions of keeping Wentz (he was quoted as saying that he thought Wentz' issues were "easily fixable/correctable).  He wanted to bring in an O.C. (Doug likely disagreed).  He then let Doug go with intentions of keeping Wentz and getting him turned around with a new coaching staff.  At that point, Wentz may have let him know that he "still wanted out of Philly" (if he wasn't "the named starter").... and at that point, maybe Lurie soured on Wentz.   Total guess on my part; just putting 2+2 together.

Just no compulsive, knee jerk desperation moves and I’m cool with it

You draft a qb top 10 before the rest of team is in place , and he does well , next you give him a huge contract , then it limits your ability to add top free agents ,and it limits your window to win before that contract starts to hurt...worse case scenario the big contract QB wets the bed and your stuck with him or you eat lots of dead money .

Trey Lance looks like a poor man's Cam Newton.

Half of his highlight reel and what makes him exciting are runs where he tries to bulldoze defensive players.  That's just not going to fly in the NFL.  I love running quarterbacks but the truth is, and we all know it, running quarterbacks don't win Super Bowls.  Sure they are fun to watch and can keep you in games but it just isn't a sustainable style of play for an NFL quarterback.  Lance is 100% a project.  I'm sick of using high picks on projects or players who are expected to sit and learn.

I'm 100% against drafting a quarterback in the 1st 3 rounds.  They caused this mess by drafting Hurts last year.  You don't draft the replacement for the replacement after he's played 4 games, especially not with a project.

I don’t disagree that they wanted to keep wentz. I think when the season ended that was their intention. Heck Adam Schefter has said that multiple times before it got to the point their intention is to keep him before saying he was going to be traded. Even caplan and mosher said they didn’t want to trade him until it got to the point it did with the fractured relationship

I think Doug was let go because Lurie disliked his plan on how to fix the Eagles. When you come into a meeting with press Taylor as your OC and bringing back Cory undlin who was bad as a secondary coach and bad with the Lions yet again in that position but promoting him to be your defensive coordinator it’s probably a good way of not keeping your job. I also buy into the reports that doug was OK not being here anymore. That report surfaced prior to the season and then again before the end of the season. I don’t think lurie strictly fired doug to keep wentz and make him happy. I tend to believe the Eagles knew it wasn’t just Doug that he was unhappy with. And if they didn’t thats a massive communication problem

Well we know your not from the Philly area since Geno's and Pat's are probably one of the worst cheesesteaks in the area. Only the outsiders who watch MNF talking them up during pregame think they are the Philly standard.

100% agree. You can't go with a crazy running back mentally minded qb.

He said it was God's plan for him to go to Indy.  He has no hand in it whatsoever.   God looked down upon Wentz and said "Indianapolis Colts!" and poof!  It is so.

It really does seem like the rumors are true and he’s is just nauseating, doesn’t it? He didn’t even wait for the trade to be official before going to Indy and sending out that Instagram.

Oh and yea God’s plan that I threw a tantrum for my poor play and asked to get traded and then signaled that I would prefer only one team that I ended up getting traded to.

I'm not a huge Geno's fan but Pat's Steaks is still better than 99% of the cheesesteaks you'll find outside of Philadelphia.  (Even Geno's to an extent).

That said, Tony Luke's (original location) is my personal favorite.  (And the Italian Roast Pork is just as good).
