I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

And that's why his quote doesn't make sense because the Eagles fanbase goes beyond the city limit of Philadelphia.  And when 99.99999999% of people say the name "Philadelphia" in regards to a population (and yes, fanbase) they are referring to METRO PHILADELPHIA...which includes all 6.1 million people and the suburbs that I quoted earlier.

Well then why stop there? lets go world wide if you want "Eagles fans" Either stick to the detail asked about the city of Philadelphia or do the entire Eagles fan base everywhere if you say your talking about "Eagles fans". Because once you start picking and choosing what you want then it turns more towards an example to benefit your theories.

Did you read the article?  It was referring to a poll done on 97.5.  Unless 97.5 stops broadcasting at the city limits of Philadelphia (it doesn't) they were referring to Metro Philadelphia.  It really is that simple.

I'm tooting my horn but I have already predicted a couple days ago in this blog an NFC East title and an 11-5 record for our lovable Birds.

That record is impossible...can't toot your own horn...17 games now so 12-5 or 11-6?

If a black guy pulled this $#it there wouldn’t even have been a debate

Here it comes

Well, I guess I have to ‘fess up’ to being a racist — because I wanted Ryan Howard to wear a pair of eyeglasses so he could see an off speed pitch, and I watched Rollins dog it numerous times, hit .240 and strikeout instead of putting the ball in play and running hard.

I despised the fact Scott Rolen would go into massive slumps and Pat Burrell had all the talent in the world, but hit .260 or lower almost every season — I could have sworn those guys were white, but they must have been black, because I’m a racist.  People on this board are sick and tired of me roasting Scott Kingery because he’s a waste of a roster spot and Krapler used to have him on the field every day at the expense of better players — I thought those two guys were white too ......

What this ‘woke’ writer of the article can’t or won’t grasp is you have only one starting QB and you view that QB (at least I view that QB, whoever it is) based on whether he has the upside to get the team to a championship.  Before 2020 the vast majority of Eagles fans saw Wentz having that upside.  I can’t imagine anybody with a straight face saying they see Super Bowl in Jalen Hurts’ future — not at this point, anyway.

To your original quote, though — Deshaun Watson IS a black guy, and he IS pulling this ‘SH!T’ — do you think the national media and public has been harder on him, or Carson Wentz?  Before you answer — ask yourself if you’re a racist or not.

A lot Eagles fans are sounding like they're on the verge of becoming Dallas fans. They hate the owner, the GM, the QB....you name it. If there's a critique to be made, some possible conspiracy theory based on gobbledyguk spec, they're making it. In fact, they're using it as bedrock for the NEXT audacious claim they make, leaving their followers mumbling in astonishment. You can't even confront the original bs because it's now part of a bs house they've made.

The grass in Dallas is brilliant green fellas!(not right now of course) Don't come back please. Whatever this team does next season, you've already disowned it. You can be a Dallas fan; you can be a Giants fan -just as long as you don't call yourself an Eagles fan.

Huh? Ok I'll give you the next 5 years.

I'll take Tua and Jalen.

Who you got? You get two.

I would go ahead and take Herbert and Josh Allen over those two guys.

So is Merrill the voice of the team and telling us to be ready for Hurts as QB?

Certainly sounds like it. Which means at least they are taking a logical long term approach to contending

25 minutes ago, austinfan said:

The smartest thing Hurts did was get out of Alabama, which does not do a good job of developing NFL QBs.

Tua at #5 was overdrafted, after that it's a pretty bad list of QBs from Alabama:

McCarron, #164-2014

McElroy, #208-2011

Coyle - #85-2006

Barker - #160-1995

Oklahoma on the other hand, Murray and Mayfield both #1, Landry Jones #115-2013, Bradford #1-2010.

So I'd just dismiss Hurts at Alabama and focus on what he did at Oklahoma coming in cold with a new scheme.

Okay ..... if Tua hadn’t come along and taken his job, would Hurts have been "smart” enough to leave Alabama?

29 minutes ago, Ace Nova said:

He's not even close to the same category.  He was a better passer than Tebow in college and has been an exponentially better passer than Tebow in their first 4 NFL starts.

You should be smart enough to recognize that the Oklahoma offense has a history of making mediocre at best qbs look good

Is that not obvious?

Maybe.  But even scouts that scouted him in college have recently stated that they're impressed with him becoming a "much better passer" at the NFL level (so far).

At the end of the day, we will likely see what Jalen Hurts "is" or "isn't" by the end of the 2021 season, right?  So why waste so much back and forth on this now?

Im just watching this video on Amari Rodgers and Im not through it, but just want to point out the 2nd play in the video. That throw from Lawrence... thats what I saw way too much of while watching Higgins stuff, and now it shows up right away in Rodgers stuff. Lawrence has a real accuracy issue.

Id day the same to you

if you recognize we wont see what he is until next season, stop trying to say an argument is debunked based on a few starts. Three types of lies and all.

i dont see a good passer there. I see a runner who couldnt move an offense once teams took away his runs

I wonder if he will be willing to take a pay cut to go to an immediate contender and to have a decent chance at a ring?  Tough call, imo.

I think Amari Rodgers is going to be a very solid pro.  I get Jamison Crowder vibes from him.  He'll probably test out middle of the pack, isn't a huge guy but he's just consistent in making big catches.  I'd be thrilled to get him in the 3rd-4th (if we get a pick back).

Does green bay have the cap space for watt?

His argument was that "Hurts must be like Tebow because their rushing yards/passing yards ratio" is similar over their first few starts.

What he has failed to mention is that Tebow's passing yards weren't even close to Hurts' passing yards during that same time period.  Hence, his "theory" doesn't hold water...because it actually states the opposite of what he's "trying" to say....since Hurts passed for an incredible amount of yards during his first 4 starts, the fact that he rushed for that many (to make the ratio high) shows how dynamic of a player he really is.

quick search has them almost $10 million over the cap.  If the Eagles can find a way to get from $60 million to under the cap I'm sure GB can find a way to get under by quite a bit to bring in players they want.

I am really struggling to find mid round receivers i like...

get one early or not at all, i guess

Gainwell at rb is really growing on me. Would love to grab him with that extra third. great fit for scheme i think

think we add a TE 6th round. Like the kid from duke

Good IOL class get one second or more likely third rd. Could draft and stash the bama center since he got hurt. Ohio state center is a high priority target for me

That’s short-sighted.  I believe if Wentz saw the Eagles as a franchise on the rise and Sirianni could have sold that to him, everything could have been fixed.  Face it, from Wentz’s standpoint it’s a business decision, and not a business decision whether he can beat out Jalen Hurts in training camp.

What does Wentz see when he looks at everything at the macro level?  Is the OL getting better?   No, Kelce, Brooks, Lane will all be gone soon.  Does Howie give him good weapons to throw to?  No, Alshon and Desean are "The Vacation Brothers” because they’re never around.  Dropsgalore and Greg Ward are Howie’s idea of slot weapons, and Howie whiffed on pick #21 when Jefferson went next off the board.  Wentz sees Ertz going and gone, Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, and Rodney McLeod are running out of time — and he sees now that Howie has no plan.  Worst of all, Wentz saw by the end of last season that he’s the one holding the bag and taking the bullets for everything that’s gone wrong.  That’s the gig when you’re the QB and about to make $34M per, but that’s what it is.

I’m ticked off at Howie and Lurie that they let it get to this point, but from Wentz’s point of view he’s spot-on to ask for a trade.  I wish him good luck and good health because he’s given what he could

Do you get the feeling at all that what Aaron Rodgers told him after the Packers game was "get the heck out of that cesspool”?

Rodgers wants an extension right? Can probably create double that on him alone

Wasn't perfect ball placement but he hit him in the hands, should have been a catch.

Ok. But it sounds like their emotions are doing their thinking for them.

I'm from Philly; lived in at least 5 places around town for over 15 years, growing up not far away in Cherry Hill. I've been away 20 years(that's starting to sound old, I am) I can't tell you exactly why I will always be an Eagles fan. But I do love the owner; and no matter what hardship this team faces, I find the course the team takes as supportable. It's not going to always work, I know that. But I can always find solid logic being applied, a method to the madness -even if I personally hate the move.

I can't tell people what they are. Only they can determine that. I just want them to stop with this lynch-mob mentality, piling on bogus assumptions.
