You mean like 2017?

Did any of them lose 4 starting OL?

Tyreke Hill - $17.7M
Davante Adams - $16.4M
Alshon Jeffery - $15.4M
Stefon Diggs - $13.4M

The only problem is the OL injuries, eh?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

And who the hell said this is what he does?  From what I've seen over the years he certainly looks in the mirror. You guys that act like you know what goes on behind the scenes make me roar with laughter.

And to take the next step I never said he didn't have issues go back and look at my quote of you. CARSON HAD ISSUES but I'm going with 30% issues were his and 70% the rest of this pathetic coaching staff and team.

He didn't say that himself, no.  But those are the excuses for him.

To me, the first 4 years he was fine.  Up and down sometimes but good overall.  This year he fell off.  I'd say blame is 50-50.

Based off why Adam schefter had on Facebook

By hiring former New England Patriots executive Nick Caserio to solve a large set of problems within the organization, the Houston Texans have created additional ones with star quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Watson offered his input on potential general manager candidates, but the Texans neither considered nor consulted with those endorsed by their franchise quarterback, league sources told ESPN.

Additionally, the Texans did not inform Watson that they intended to hire Caserio, and he found out about the hire on social media. That contributed to Watson taking to Twitter that night to post "some things never change...."

Watson's feelings were not directed toward Caserio, sources told ESPN, but instead were indicative of the way business was again conducted by the Texans.

Last offseason, Houston didn't let Watson know that star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins would be traded, which led to some disappointment. Now that it has happened again, Watson is said to be infinitely more bothered, sources told ESPN.

This time, Watson had met with Texans owner Cal McNair on several instances, sharing thoughts on certain candidates that came highly recommended, with Watson suggesting that the team at least talk to them, sources told ESPN. He did not expect Houston to hire those that he endorsed, but he was hoping the Texans would be respectful of the feelings of the group of his teammates that he was trying to represent, sources told ESPN.

The Texans, however did not act on their quarterback's thoughts and charged ahead with a hire that mattered to a much smaller circle than the one that Watson was trying to aid, sources told ESPN.

Even if they didn't want to move forward with any of Watson's recommended candidates, sources told ESPN that Watson wanted to at least have the opportunity to meet with ownership's finalists so he could offer his thoughts from a player standpoint to benefit the team -- and then the Texans could hire who they wanted. That opportunity never came.

I don't think the QB should have a say in who the GM is but having a say in who the HC is would be helpful if you plan to have the QB be there for many years.  Also just putting the QB in the dark about all of it isn't ideal either

Are you implying Wentz covered up the team's weaknesses in 2017?    I guess Nick Foles did too.   Or maybe the team was playing lights out and Wentz got the credit.

I would argue against some of the better offenses like the Rams and Patriots the QB play did cover up for the secondary most of those games. Minnesota and Falcons were the other two offenses that were good however they statistically weren’t top 5 like New England and Rams. Rams and New England total yards were 1 and 2. Meanwhile atlanta was 16 and Minnesota 13. Total ppg Rams and Patriots were 1 and 2. Minnesota 10 and atlanta 15. So against the two best offenses their QB play kept them in those games and won it until the defense made a play.

Someone nicknamed him the Mormon baker  (if we are talking zack Wilson)

If Doug is staying he NEEDS to give that up

yes , he needs to be a full time head coach and make sure the other units perform at their peek. he's allowed the defense to run thru schwartz unchecked and has allowed the special teams to just be a terrible unit. didn't use the WR's correctly or scheme them to get YAC  or stick with the run.

That’s what the point was though. Both of them would be fired next year if the season goes the way it did this year. The reason why they aren’t firing them this year as well as the fact he’s trusting them giving them another year is the situation salary cap, roster and QB situation makes the job less desirable in 2021 then it does in 2022 if you have cap space, good draft picks since you were bad and likely a better hold on the qb situation.

again not my theory but there’s some logic to it if you believe you’re going to be in a better salary cap positioning, still have high draft picks in 2022 because they’re not gonna be a very good team and you have more information on the quarterback situation that in play. If the Eagles are 4-12 in 2021 I actually agree with him that optically it appears better to a potential candidate because at least at that point you have cap Flexibility and high draft picks as compared to 2021 where they don’t have cap and no real answer at What to do at QB

yeah i think the talent level on this team is bad, depending what big difference makers fa are available when we have cap and hopefully we get them and trade for them and the qb situation straightens out whether hurts, wentz, someone else etc, i think this team will be back.

I don't know why a Cowboys reporter would get this kinda info, so take it FWIW, but I don't think anyone here would be shocked if this were true, regardless of whether the reporting is well sourced or not.

doug needs to be the coach and let the coordinators do their job. he's doing too much.

Fish Sports?

That's what Josina Anderson should change her Twitter handle to.

This team would probably be better off if they demoted Doug to OC and hired a new HC

I think this is partly why Lurie is hiring these consultants

Just saw it on a facebook group. Very happy. Hopefully Lurie just tells everyone they're fired

You’re going to follow a path of creating another huge garbage pile after the current garbage pile has been scooped away.  Most of the best players on the best NFL teams are drafted and developed internally.

The Chiefs with Mahomes, Kelce, Hill, Hardman, Edwards-Helaire

Saints with Kamara, Thomas, Lattimore — only Brees was traded for, and he’s been there many years

Bills with Allen, White, Edmunds, Milano — though Diggs was a great acquisition

Packers with Rodgers, Adams, Jones

Seahawks with Wilson, Metcalf, Lockett, Wagner, Wright

It’s extremely difficult in a hard-cap league to go into the upper-tier (and priced) FA market, and most trades for difference makers cost a very high price in draft capital

Also seems silly. In a situation like that the answer is easy. You fire both
