Pitts will do his best work in the redzone. His wingspan and hands down there are so good. He'll score a bunch of touchdowns.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I just wish they picked a name already

The Washington Primes. Deion Sanders is named permanent head coach.

Yep. The evolution of 12 personnel is two Z WRs and an above-average pass catching RB. Done properly, I don't think there's a defense in the league that can handle that.

Edit: this is especially true if your Z's are just effective horizontally as they are vertically, and your TEs can attack downfield.

My distaste for the 12 personnel on these boards is well documented.  As you describe it?  Sure, that would be awesome.

Athletic TE's who get downfield, a pair of burner WRs, and a RB who is a weapon in the passing game?  Yes, that's an elite offense.  Easier said than done to acquire those parts.

The problem is our 12 personnel gave us one broken down Z, a painfully slow "power forward" X, Goedert, and Ertz...both of whom are nice receivers, neither of whom is a truly special mismatch.

Well that's the point.  Mike Evans is a WR.

If you make Pitts put a hand in the dirt and face off with an OL for a chunk of snaps, you are functionally grounding him.

I'd spend most of my time using him out wide and in the slot. Under certain sets I'd be alright with him in line, but yeah asking him to take on defensive ends in year 1 or 2 probably ain't gonna work well

While there's obviously room for improvement, I think Pitts, Goddert, Reagor, Hightower/Watkins/draft pick could be a nice foundation. Also, having the ability to move Pitts outside while moving Reagor in the slot adds a nice wrinkle (especially during no-huddle).

Hard pass on Pitts mostly due to where we arr in the rebuild. Need cornerstone pieces. If you want a wr take one of the stud wrs not a tweener projection

Claypool might be better comp

Take Pitts or Chase or trade for a kings ransom to a contender that is going to come down and trade for those two.

A small-trade down for the Panthers to still take Pitts/Chase/Sewell would be a win-win.

That's basically your combine right there.

Howie will probably be at Western Oregon Tech’s instead.

Kelvin Joseph is who he out ran. He's been getting hype as a 1st rounder corner with 4.4 speed.

If Pitts runs 4.68 I'll eat my shoe

I like Kelvin Joseph and I have him in several of my mocks....usually in the 3rd round or later.  That said, he's projected to run around a 4.5 40.  He's a larger, outside CB and a ball hawk but speed isn't what he's known for.

I also like Kyle Pitts but nearly as much as some in this draft.  Not at 6, anyway.  We would be the first team to draft a TE in the top 6 in 15 years.  Team just don't draft TE's that early.  We could still trade down at least 3-4 spots and still have a chance at drafting him, imo...and if not, so be it....TE is around need #35 on the list atm.

And as nice as that play was, Pitts would have been caught 9 out of 10 times by an NFL DB.  He's fast for a TE but come on guys....I'd be shocked if he runs anywhere near a 4.5.

Doubt Sewell makes it past the Bengals.

Kyle Pitts getting dinged still for being a TE is just crazy talk at this point. Besides the tape of him murdering corners on the outside and in the slot almost every scout is willing to say he could just play WR at an elite level

This look like a TE????

If Chase is there at 6 its a no brainer

if he isnt, things get more variable and i start looking to drop into the 8 to 12 range

Of course 31 teams passed over Metcalf twice.

Kamara went #67, here's how tough drafting really is, the guys after #43 who've had good careers, #48 Mixon, #55 Tomlinson DT, #57 Cunningham LB, #62 Simon-Schuster WR, #63 Dawkins G, #64 Moton G, #65 Ogunjobi DT, #67 Kamara RB, #69 Kupp WR. So only 2 of the 13 players taken after Jones were solid starters.

Jefferson would have been better than Reagor, but he wouldn't have saved 2020 (and we probably never pick up Fulgham).

I come back and this lie is still being perpetuated?   Apples to oranges.  Just pure nonsense, and even if they didn't pick up Fulgham, who cares? Jefferson is 10 times the player Fulgham is.

Howie didn't draft horribly, the studies referred much earlier had him at 95% of expected value, that is, pretty much average. The problem was due to the Wentz trade, and a couple other "win now" deals, they were dead last in expected value of their picks from 2016-2020. Hopefully they can move Ertz and Slay and pick up some picks, and maybe get a comp pick this year. The next two years they're going to be in the top 5 in expected draft value, and they'll be focused on BPA and upside, so hopefully they'll be above average drafting as well.

I do want to see what Sirianni and company can do with some players on the roster, he helped turned Pascal into a starting WR, let's see what they can do with Fulgham and JJAW. Eagles have accumulated fast H-back candidates in Wilson, Butler and Jackson, can they turn one into a player. I know Stoutland can work with Herbig, Opeta, Juriga and Toth and turn garbage into gold. Sanders should be among the league leaders in receiving yards by a RB, don't know what happened last year but there's a real opportunity.  I'm less optimistic about Gannon and the current crop of DBs, I think they're gonna audition a lot of DBs in August. They have an inexperienced LB coach to work with a bunch of inexperienced but athletic LBs. Rocker's a good DL coach, but not a lot to work with in terms of kids with upside.

You’ve gone too far.

At least we can point and laugh when he Justin Jefferson’s all season on another team with I told ya so’s?

Do you know why some mocks are rating the other tackle higher? Last year it seemed like everyone was saying he's a generational tackle. Now I'm seeing some mocks having the other guy higher.

People trying to sound smart. They already moved on from Slater (the other guy) to a different guy who is right behind Sewell now.

Wait.  That route that any WR can run didn’t convince you to draft him at #6 overall?   Damn this draft sucks.

Because they're stupid.

Sewell has a bonafide Hall of Fame level upside and he's 20 years old. I would be very surprised if he isn't gone in the top 4.

Yup. That’s the Twitter world for you. They will say something for shock value, then pray he turns into the next Robert Gallery so they can pin the original tweet and act like they know better than everyone else.

Doesn't Daniel Jeremiah have Slater ranked higher than Sewell?

Not in his mocks. His latest was Sewell at 5 and Slater at 12. In his top 50 Slater is two ahead of Sewell but he also says Sewell has the highest upside and also that Slater could excel at LT but would be a pro bowl LG from the jump, so it’s a little more nuanced than just he’s better.
