I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I don’t mind BwF or Bo unless he goes on the woke tangents. Otherwise it’s entertaining enough and I like that it’s different than every other usual Eagles podcast.

I am struggling with Eagle Eye though. Zangaro and Reuben Frank have a boring, awkward chemistry. After the second listen I picked up on how many times Frank says "Um” or "Uh” and it’s literally at least 100 times a pod. That’s all I can hear now.

I can't listen to Dave Zangaro. Every time I've listened he was fixated on locker room dynamics and "who's gonna step up as a leader" and he did it in a tone like he had credibility on such issues. He's the dweebiest local Eagles writer of them all.

BwF without Bo would be perfect. Dude is sooooo self-absorbed.

The Inside the Birds Podcast, I think are getting Jason Avant and Quintin Mikell on Wednesdays by themselves during the off-season starting next week.  I still prefer the one with Les Bowen, that guy is out there and makes it funny.

Looking forward to that one. Tales from the Blindside was probably my favorite. Tra, Heremans and Jamal Jackson were entertaining and also gave a unique perspective being ex players.

Kyle Pitts is from Philly.  So now the obsession starts to make a little sense.  But let’s just say he runs sub 4.5.  I still don’t see him as a Vernon Davis kind of freak.  Davis ran a sub 4.4.  Pitts is a few inches taller than Davis was.  Guess where Davis was picked.  #6 overall.  Had a good long career.  But never went over a 1,000 yards receiving. Was never a generational player or a cornerstone to a championship.  Those certainly are not requisites for drafting anyone at #6. But I’ll argue until I am blue in the face, you don’t use key draft equity for a pass catcher unless your team is pretty much set.  We’re far from that.  I get the guy is a talented.  Makes no sense for the Eagles.  Not now.

So if no pass catcher at 6 what do you draft there? QB? CB? OL?

Kind of sucks Tim McManus doesn’t have a better podcast. Frankly when he and sheil worked together they had very good chemistry but that was before podcast were really big. I feel like Berman, sheil and McManus would actually get along really well in a podcast.

Zangaro is just a big ole Meh for me. He’s pretty boring, but doesn’t sway me much either way. I’d rather listen to him than Seltzer whine for an hour straight while ESP interjects with his trash takes.

Pitts’ movement skills are on a whole different level than any of the other recent top draft picks at TE. I don’t think it’s particularly close either.

I think that’s the biggest issue with those who oppose to Pitts at 6. They can’t get over position he plays. If we get a receiver who catches 100 balls 1200-1400 yards and 8-12 TDs who cares if it’s a TE or WR? Hell it could be OL by my part.

Is that one with the guys from WIP?  High pitched voice that’s always yelling?

Absolutely...but can he catch 100 balls for 1200-1400 yards and 8-12 TDs?

Hes not going to do that the way Gronk and Kelce did it.  That type of physical manhandling isn’t in his game.  And the way they block...that does earn them coverages against slower guys who are easier to outrun.  Pitts won’t see that coverage.

If he’s going to put up those numbers, he’s going to do it playing like a WR.

Jeez, stop focusing on position. Pitts is not going to be Goedert, he's going to be a far more athletic Ertz, with some TO thrown in.

And he doesn't have to run a 4.4, if he runs a 4.52 at 6'4 240, that's impossible to cover. What it comes down to is whether he has elite receiving skills.

Cincy is Sewell, Chase if Sewell is gone. They have a significant need on their OL.

No argument who the right choice is for them, Sewell, they have their own al Davis like tendency to be attracted by shiny home run-ish objects. I can see a warped "let’s get him a weapon” rationale. I’ve posted before that howie should trade them Dillard. Mailata, Sewell, Brooks and Johnson would be a lot of beef.

I still think Mac Jones has a chance to have the best NFL career out of all of them.  He'll go to a non-dysfunctional franchise, might get surrounded by talent and protection earlier in his career than the rest of them, and is ready now to pass the football at an NFL level.

It's easy to compare people from the same school...I find him to be an AJ McCarron clone, unfortunately AJ went to the Bengals and well...dysfunction.

He’s going to have to be a WR to put up those numbers. Jimmy Graham did something comparable only twice. Gronk only did it 3 maybe 4 years. Gonzalez only had those numbers 3 to 4 years. Kelce is the outlier who you can say did it for 4 to 5 years while staying relatively healthy although he is in a loaded offense. You are asking for a lot if you want Pitts to put up those numbers. He might be an exciting prospect but he’s still just a prospect.

By God I will find a starting X, Z and Slot.

One guy still forgotten about is Nico Collins from Michigan, he opted out of 2020.

2018 Soph -   13g   38 rec    630 yds     6tds

2019 Junior-  12g   37rec     730yds     7tds

Coming into 2020 he was projected as a 2nd round pick and he’s barely on anyone’s list near that.   6’4”, 215lbs at the Senior Bowl.

Would have to trade down to the 20’s to justify that one.

I’d just trade up from the second round if that’s a guy we really want.

All these mocks and no one has Brennan Eagles. :o

I kind of disagree.

You have to be able to do what you want when you want to do it.  Great offenses don't "take what the defense gives them." Everyone knows the Chiefs are going to air it out. Everyone knew the Warner/Faulk/Bruce/Holt Rams were going to air it out. Everyone knew the 90's Cowboys were going to run the ball. They just couldn't be stopped because they had superior talent.

"taking what they give you" should be situational at best, and is defeatist at worst.  I want to give the defense something they can't stop.

Whatever IN RYTHYM means, but is that sustainable for most of the season and almost every game ? I guess that entails having good players and excellent playcalling/coaching. To me thats what 2017 was with sprinkles of Wentz having to ad lib into great plays. The NFL wants more passing, that’s what they are giving us 60 - 40 pass/run ratio seems healthy. 375+ ypg with a 5+ turnover differential and not missing any gimme FG’s we be up there

I'm focused on ROI.

A WR at #6 needs to get the ball a lot to justify the selection.

Yeah, I was thinking if no trade back ( 1 ) available and Sewell (2) off the board go Chase, Pitts, Smith or Waddle (3) but now would go CB (3) instead of WR, a bigger need at a premium position. Trade back all day
