Howie's had two high picks, Lane #4, Cox traded up to #12, Barnett was the third highest #14.

I'm not worried.

And had the luck of the Dolphins jumping him for Dion Jordan

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

IDK, I would be worried.  Lane and Cox (lane to a slightly lesser extent) were looked at as franchise corner stone pieces.  Who at 6 do you see available that is going to come anywhere close to that?  I think we can meet in the middle here, with me as one who thought Howie should have been taken out to pasture mid season and you who defends him quite ardently.  Let's look at who you mentioned at the end here, Barnett.  Howie managed to pick the okayest player he possibly could (much like the NA pick).

You should absolutely be worried if we don't get any trade back offers.  This draft you want as many darts as possible to throw at the board with how tepid overall it is.

Wow, Wentz got scrubbed from the record fast.

I don't see it as @austinfan scrubbing him from the record.  Wentz was a calculated and targeted move up for a specific person.  Cox to an extreme lesser amount is similar...but overall Lane and Cox are fine examples of ID'n premier talent and either moving on them appropriately or taking them amongst a sea of other talent.

Bateman is a 1st rounder, who could go top 15. If we trade down, I could see us taking him.

Make me happy. I’ve loved Bateman since last year. Truly believe the kid is going to be a stud. When you watched him in 2019 he had some nice games against the better teams except auburn who had over a month to prep. He destroyed penn state and was very good against Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa.

So why haven’t the Eagles embraced virtual technology?

I'm sure they have, I think the problem is the metrics are somewhat new and there isn't a big enough collection of raw data to find the mean.

Per Source: Bateman ran a 4.37 hand time and a 4.39 laser at the Exos combine. *Rashod Bateman is not slow

"Source”?  First off, the "Exos combine” is being put on for the athletes that Exos is being paid to train by their agents.  No incentive there to demonstrate the best results possible.  Second, if they time like that at the combine, let the timer identify themselves. Why "source”?  Probably the "source” was the agent.  No reflection on you, Beast, just my frustration with all this "source” nonsense that is so prevalent these days.

I have seen nothing about helmet cams and virtual reality from them.

He didn't look slow.  But I wasnt sure if he was a 4.3 guy.

Cool.

I’m just excited that we’re getting a very good player at 6. I don’t think we can screw it up if we stay put.

And you've jinxed us.   Don't say it out loud man!

Read the tweet , it’s Bateman tweeting it about himself

They used helmet cams before during mini camps and TC.

I remember the QBs having it too

He did and no need for anyone to worry unless they don’t want a QB, which I think the Eagles will take unless someone blows them away with a great offer for number 6.

I keep hearing 2022 is the year but I think it’s gonna be 2023. Colleges are gonna be bare after this draft plus with Covid and some schools not even playing, they’ll need two years to build talent back up. Look at the schools who are gonna need a QB’s and WR’s after this draft, lots of them.  These guys coming in are gonna have to play in 2021 and 2022 just to get a decent projection for the NFL.
So unless you believe the Eagles are gonna wait till 2023 to draft their guy, they’ll take a QB this draft, again if they believe the 2022 draft will be bare, I think it will be.

 1. Nix. Auburn

2. Howell.  NC

3. Rattler.   Oklahoma

4. Slovis.    USC

Nix runs more than Rattler, but if I couldn’t hit a barn with a throw, I’d run as well.

Moorehead?  I don’t think he is the problem and constantly changing the position teacher may well be. I think that Sirianni had a long talk with Moorehead about his teaching methods and the strengths and weaknesses of the various players and came away satisfied.  Next to the S coach (with Gannon and Wilson), Moorehead may have the most difficult position to impress the coaches. Sirianni spent a lot of time as a WR coach as did Patullo so they will both have opinions on how to do the job.

Moorehead had been here one year, how is he responsible for the mismanagement of the position for the past 3?   No... the architect of the roster, is the one responsible, no matter how much he wants to deflect that responsiblity to others.

I wouldn’t be too confident:

I think the pick will be solid if the Eagles stick with 6th. Of course one of the players at 7-11 will have a better start to their rookie year and the negadelphs in here will make that the focus.

This is highly revisionist.

Lane came out in one of the weakest drafts for top 5 talent in history. He was the third player taken at his position, and was viewed largely as a boom or bust player with enormous upside due to his athleticism.

Cox similarly was viewed as a high upside player who declared for the draft as a 20 year old with impressive physical ability and one good college season.

These were not guys anyone was talking about as can’t miss franchise cornerstones. They were not sure things by any stretch of the imagination. They were viewed as upside plays with higher than normal risk for their draft position but with commensurate upside if they fulfilled their potential. Credit to Howie, the coaching staff, and the players all around for realizing that potential.

Even with the GPS tracking, you still want the 40-yard dash and the rest of the Combine drills. You want to build that athletic profile of what prospects are capable of still.

Cool.

That's great news.  The only "question" in any of his scouting reports was whether or not he was "fast".  4.39 is fantastic for what he does and his skill set.

I already was high on him thinking he was around a 4.45 guy; so I like him even more now.  Could easily come into camp and be an immediate contender for X...fits that classic X mold and I think he will excel at the NFL level.  Would also be a great complement to Reagor at Z.

Personally I would take Rondale Moore over Bateman .

If its not Chase, Smith or Pitts in the top 15 we are not taking a WR.

to be honest I was dead wrong on that one as well. I did not see Dion being THAT bad. I remember I really wanted either Dion or Lane (and Star if we traded back), so I was happy with the pick. Even happier now as I look back 😆
