I love what I've read about him and have had him in almost all of my mocks. Still haven't watched anything on him yet though.

He impressive on tape. He does make some mistakes if you watch game stuff like biting on double moves but he is a sound tackler and though his production slipped last year he still had 20 PDs.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

If any backup QB wants more than a couple of million, that’s a hard pass. Put the money elsewhere.

Only way to get that price is to draft backups in the later rounds.

Just re-sign Suds. A backup QB is pretty much worthless this year. A good one costs you several potential reclamation projects like Malik Hooker. And if the backup QB is good enough to win a couple of games, he just costs you a bunch of draft spots for a QB next year.

I’d rather the Eagles grab a UDFA QB after the draft than re-sign Sudfeld.  The guy has always been a waste of a roster spot.

Some of the players Doug kept around need for their key cards not to work anymore.

A guy like Jacoby as the veteran backup makes too much sense.  You want a veteran guy to help out Hurts or if they draft a QB at 6, a guy that knows the HC's offense and style and can help the young QB along but also provide some camp and preseason (if there is a preseason) competition to get the best out of Hurts/rookie heading into the season.

Now there's a fun reclamation project.  That would be a great FA add.

Guys like that get sneaky good money in FA though, which would price him out of our range.

Let him sit out half the year, no rush.  A 24 year old with the potential to be a long term starter at a position of need?  From PA, played for our coaching staff too.

I think he’ll have other offers to be a backup QB and perhaps get offered more money elsewhere.  Not sure he’d be eager to go sign with the Eagles when Sirianni was part of the decision making group to sign Rivers instead of letting him develop in IND

Threw the kitchen sink at weapons for Hurts in the beginning of this draft. No excuse for him not to succeed then. If he sucks, then the next QB will come in to a good situation. Next year youd draft him and build up his OL more. Here it is

image.png.32b3fb7ea7018460cf8a1d7f5cd6b3ff.png

Pitts/Goedert

Rondale Moore, Reagor, Tamorrion Terry, Fulgham/Ward

Sanders/Sermon

Thats a very potentially explosive, loaded offense. You can do this Russell Wilson style. Throw it deep and let those WRs make plays, or take off and run. Should be very tough to defend.

Interesting concept — but Jalen Hurts is to Russell Wilson what Jerry Lewis is to Bob Dylan:

meh. Wilson is not some cerebral QB with surgical accuracy methodically picking apart defenses. He makes a living extending plays and throwing up prayers long after a DB can realistically stick with even a mediocre NFL WR. I think thats a fairly easy offense to replicate.

I know it goes without saying, but in a one-year prove it deal, it makes sense for him to follow his old secondary coach here. There’s a wide open depth chart and a good pass rush in front of him.

I said the same thing about most of that colts free agent class. With players looking for more 1 year deals this year to cash in on the increasing cap next offseason it makes a lot of sense to look at Philly where there will be a lot of familiarity with coaching staff.

Would love the draft I just posted with somehow landing Hooker and Rhodes. Thats probably too much to afford though.

If you could get him on a 2 year deal, it would enable us to control him until 2023, which is when we could afford him if he were to do well.

If he were to impress in 2021 on a prove it deal, he might be out the door for 2022.

I'd imagine that Chase isn't anywhere close to their wingspan, so you can't simply state that his impressive bench numbers means superior strength.

23 reps at 6'0" 208 or so is fantastic. It's very strong

I'm going to assume he didn't run because he wants to run at his Pro Day. I don't think it has anything to do with him thinking he's not going to run a good time as much as it is he wants the best time and has weeks still to prepare

We’ll have money to spend in 2022, and it makes way more sense for Hooker to take a one-year deal and then re-enter the FA market with more teams having cap space.

It makes sense to do bench reps in one workout and agility/speed drills in another.  That’s fine.

But I also think of bench reps for a WR like a 40 time for a qb.  Sure, it helps, but that’s not how you butter your bread at the NFL level.

Looks like there's plenty of cheap backups

Doesn't need to be someone who is going to come in and win games. We just want him competent enough to throw the ball to the young guys

23 means to me that he loves the gym. Almost certainly means he has very strong numbers on squats, deads, cleans, and is very dedicated. If that's the case, his vert, acceleration, and lower body strength are also very special, which looks to be the case on tape

A faster Anquan Boldin is a fair comparison with that type of strength

Wonder when the next trade or release comes for the Eagles.

They are going to have to do more than just Ertz so it will be interesting to see what plays out.  Only a little over 2 weeks until free agency. Time running out for Eagles to get that cap down.

JFC.  If we take a TE, WR and RB with the first 3 picks I might quit.

Youd be back quick when the offense is scoring 50 a game and making the Chiefs look slow.

My guess is that they will wait for the cap number to be finalized since the next moves are going to be restructures/extensions.

2020 salary for these pending FA QB's

Ryan Fitzpatrick - 5.5 million

Tyrod Taylor - 5.5 million

AJ McCarron - 4 million

Andy Dalton - 3 million

Colt McCoy - 2.25 million

Cam Newton - 1.75 million

Joe Flacco - 1.5 million

Jameis Winston - 1.1 million

Brian Hoyer - 1.05 million

Sorry bro, but you're wrong.

They did snd nobody else was getting open to help. All teams had to do was focus on him. Throw him in with other weapons and he could help again. We agree Doug screwed it up.

Or they can just sign Fitzpatrick, Newton, Taylor, Dalton, etc for the 2-4 million they are going to get.

I wasn’t being serious...not naming names...but the 10m thing is a now famous quote around here.
