I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

1) Pitts size and speed is a dime a dozen(well 3 or 4 of them) So stop with the nightmare matchup crap. You have remember he wasnt a top 3 tight end until he got Trask while Freieirmuth/Jordan/Hunter Long(say size, some faster, some bigger) are playing with UPS drivers.

2) I wasnt including Lane. now you want to add a 4th LT. Dillard/Mailata/Lane and now you want to add Sewell as a 4th LT.

3) Justin Fields STINKS. Dwayne Haskins. NO THNKS

Justin Fields is nothing like Dwayne Haskins.  I'm not sure what they have in common other than their school? I think Sewell is just a matter of being the BPA.  He doesn't fit a need but he could move inside and give the team very good depth at both tackles and guard positions.

His senior bowl vid is what caught my attention. Coming from a small school like UNI you hear the lack of competition thing. He looked tremendous at the SB practices. Not to bad for a rail I guess 😂

Practicing against Elerson Smith probably helped him some.  Brown can get a little upright and can struggle with speed.  Like Mailata though, he is so big that getting around him is difficult and allows him to correct for most mistakes.  I do think what I see is a little upright may be lower body strength in Beast’s view and that may have been what he meant with the rail comment.  Been reading JR for almost two decades now and that helps see what he sees.

Who are you sitting? Seumalo and Brooks are starting. Sewell might be a great tackle but that doesn’t mean he’s a great guard. I’m fine with seumalo and Brooks. Unless the assumption is kelce is retiring and you are moving seumalo to center. I’m not sold on that’s the way the eagles go. I think the original intention was to move seumalo to center to replace kelce cause they didn’t think kelce was long to be here. However i wouldn’t be shocked if the eagles look elsewhere at center in the draft tbh. Also were rumors the eagles had Driscoll learning center when they worked him out last draft season.

I think he's depth but you make him learn guard first.  If Kelce retires then you move him in place of Seumalo.  Brooks is the starter but let's not pretend he's young and healthy.  He's an aging player coming off of a season ending injury and it's his second achilles tear.

I’m not arguing about that specific player. I know nothing of him. Just saying there are players with great weight room strength that didn’t play with strength for various reasons.

Opeta is a good example of that.  Champion at Combine doesn’t equal strength on the field.

So a young developing college player was better later on then when he was a freshman? Shocking.

Dillard is an obvious bust.  They should not be depending on him.  I like Mailata and have been a big believer in him. If they can get Sewel as the LT then that allows Mailata to then switch to the right side and eventually take over for Lane.

Fields stinks? News to me.  Yes a far more polished passer than Lance.

Kyle Pitts was sooo last month.  It’s Mac Jones time.  My guess is come April, Kyle Trask will be a top 10 pick.

Najee Harris, strap a rocket to back and send him to the moon! Top 5 pick for sure

My favorites to be starting QB week 1

1. Nick Foles

2. Justin Fields

3. Mac Jones

4. Jameis Winston

5. Nate Sudfeld

6. Hurts

Great move.  Note Johnston isn’t listed. Wonder if Howie is trying to extend.  His touch inside the twenty in the corners is lacking but otherwise a solid punter.

Johnston is a RFA, these EFRA’s are much easier to sign. I don’t think they will tender Johnston, might just try to sign him at a lower rate

To be perfectly honest he might be your best left tackle on that entire team from the day he is drafted by the Eagles. I think he’s a better left tackle today then Dillard or mailata and still has tremendous upside. So I’m not gonna play him at guard simply because I have two other guys I can only play tackle. He’s my best left tackle I’m gonna play him at left tackle.

Brooks is what he is but he still gonna be on this team. I can project him as my starter. If Sewell is my best LT I’m not moving him if Brooks gets hurt. I’d be downgrading in two spots

I also don’t think it’s just a given seumalo just moves over for kelce and they don’t look to find a replacement in the draft. Heck they had Driscoll during their workouts play center.

The Eagles will be smart to do everything they can prior to the draft to attach themselves to every QB prospect; it will force teams to trade up in front of them and push the best non-QB prospects down to them.  Currently ATL is the only NFC team picking in front of them, so they don't need to worry about division rivals jumping them at the draft unless they're willing to give up significant capital.

Hope you like cheering for the bears cause that’s about the only place where foles will be starting

Go ahead and figure out defense with 3 first round picks next year.

Can someone explain to me the love the Kyle Pitts?

And remember he was barely a top 5 Tight end in the country before he got Kyle Trask/Toney came on board

So you want a 3rd LT, a QB who looked average most of the year with incredible talent around him or an over rated tight end who didnt do crap before Trask/Toney got there?

I'm not here to debate Pitts at 6 but saying he wasn't being viewed top 5 TE in the country before last season isn't true:

^PFF had him #1 last July WELL before Toney blew up and Trask had his year

^USA today had him ranked #1 in August of last year

^PFN had him #2 in may of last year

^This site had him 3rd

There's more if i need to find them, But he was very clearly thought of in high regards before Toney and Trask had their seasons.

I wouldn't be shocked if all but Fields are already gone by 6 along with Sewell. Another example of winning a meaningless game here or there screws them.

If they go Sewell (which I’d be excited about) then someone is likely getting traded. Have a hard time seeing the eagles paying dillard first round money and really can only play LT, mailata needs a extension as he’s entering his last year so won’t be cheap anymore, lane making what he is making and Sewell being paid first round top 6 money. That’s a ton of money invested at the tackle position with 4 guys who can only play tackle. While I think tackle is massively important i can’t see us paying that type of money (assuming they extend mailata). I feel like one would be gone.

What kind of money would Mailata make? I wouldn't think it'd be a lot

I kind of think it comes down to what the Dolphins do at three and what the Jets do with Sam Darnold. If they just go with Sam Darnold I think they trade out of two to get value for that pick so it’s likely going to be a quarterback regardless. The Dolphins are in a curious spot. I don’t think they’re sold on tua Tagovailoa. However I also think they are going to give him another year because of him coming off the hip injury and being a rookie with no off-season activity. I think they are a prime place for a team that needs a quarterback that wants to trade up. I think a team like Denver, Panthers an Eagles could trade into three if they like one of the quarterbacks that is sitting there at three. The Dolphins could also go wide receiver. There’s a chance in my opinion Lawrence, Wilson, fields and Sewell as well as smith/chase are all off the board by 6.

I’m not specifically concerned with who the Eagles take at #6 (prefer a trade back to 11 or 12), but have more concern with roster construction as a whole.  The Eagles needs as I see them:

Immediate -  WR1, CB2, Safety (both FS and SS, but at least one has to be addressed)

Priority — OL (C or LG if Kelce retires), LB, DE (to replace BG)

Moderate — TE2, RB2

Of course, QB could be seen as an immediate need but I prefer the Eagles fill the other areas first — then get a franchise QB to plug in and hopefully win while the QB is on a rookie deal.  The Eagles currently have 4 picks in the first 3 rounds and my preference would be CB, OL, WR, and S — in whatever sequence necessary.

You are going to have to pay him significantly more than what he’s making today. (942k against the cap). The question becomes do you think he’s better than Vaitai? I think he has way more upside than vaitai, younger then vaitai when he reaches FA. Now the debate is did he play as well as vaitai? Probably not the SB year but the other years I’d say yes and he still has a ton of upside comparatively to vaitai. So if vaitai Got what he did from the Lions then I’m guessing if mailata made it to free agency he’s getting something close to that.

He’s a FA at the end of 2021. So if you wait and he plays well he’s going into free agency is going to make money. If you do it now you probably save some however i still think it’s a salary jump. And if you lowball him trying to get him to sign early he might just say I’ll wait until at the end of the season and going to free agency where somebody might just overpaid me like vaitai.

I would picture Asante Jr as a slot CB at only 5’10 .... with NRC and Leblanc gone there would be room for him, although I also see slot CB as Avonte Maddox’s last gasp.
