Howie Roseman playing 4D Chess. This was the way the whole time.

Eagles don't trade to draft Mariota because Titans were unrealistic, Mariota purposely busts to come home, Eagles fire Chip for almost spoiling the plan but can't bring Mariota in just yet, so have to hire Doug as a stop gap. Eagles were ready to fire Doug and Frank at the end of 2016 but Titans weren't ready to cut bait so they had to keep them. Eagles lucked into a SB win so were stuck with Doug going into last year and couldn't pull the trigger on Marcus because Doug said no. Plan B, draft Jalen Hurts and divide the QB and coach. Get rid of both in one month and finally make way to bring our boy home. It all makes so much sense.

Is Marcus a bust though? His numbers are actually pretty decent all things considered.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

People will call me crazy, but that’s the sort of stuff that will get Howie fired.

Lurie is aware of these things.  Even if he keeps Howie around because Howie lets Lurie play fantasy football while being his flamesuit...Lurie will still kick him to the curb once it becomes an untenable PR situation.

I don't think so. Honestly even if Howie goes QB at 6 he'll just say it was for Nick and Lurie will go on about his day

Now if he goes RB at 6 then I don't know how Howie stays employed. He'd be lucky the draft is virtual because there'd probably be fans storming the podium

Not surprised. Their facebook is about the same lol

It's not a secret that a lot of us want him gone

Eagles made a post about Nick sirianni on Instagram and literally look first 20 posts were about firing howie Roseman.

In relation to where he was drafted, yes.

Close to Texas.

Not Houston.  You leave Houston heading to El Paso and it takes about thirty minutes difference than if you are heading to Atlanta. El Paso is halfway to LA.  Indianapolis is closer to Houston than Scottsdale. Not a geography teacher, are you?

Clearly the biggest attraction was playing for kingsbury.....  lol

Multiple trade back options and went for overall quality and quantity which this team desperately needs over one impact player at 6.

I hope your not one of those guys who think chazz is a third round pick? Because by comparison there is know way falls to 191. He's a third round pick

You're crazy. Lurie couldn't give two figs, b/c either they win or he'll take just as much grief over the guy he replaces Howie with.

The backup QB is always better, free agents are always better . . . "if you start listening to the fans you'll soon be sitting with them."

Well, you would know.  So for once, I defer to you.

Has a consensus been reached about what type defense we’ll be playing? Is this still a W9 front with a lot of Cover 1 and 3 on the backend -or- should I expect something significantly different? Thanks - I have some mock drafting to do here🧐

It was a joke.  🤦‍♂️

The fanbase is more apathetic than angry. That's in many ways worse.

Mostly Cover-2, 2-gap DL so probably a larger front 7, maybe some double A-gap blitzes like the Vikings do. No more wide-9 like we did with Schwartz.

Got it - much appreciated👍

Yeah but bust?
When I think of bust I’m thinking Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell types. Mariota hasn’t been that bad. Disappointing sure but not a bust.

You don’t use #2 overall for a backup QB unless your Howie Roseman

I tend to think he’s a bust but more because that injury he had. Before the injury he look like he was on his way to being a really good quarterback in the league. He just was never the same after that injury. It feels like it’s just a disappointment cause he wasn’t just horrible from the start. Also for Titans fans it’s not a massive bust because the Titans manage to get an Ryan tannehill and Tannehill has played as well as he has. Otherwise Titans fans would’ve felt worse about it

i also wouldn’t be surprised if he’s able to pulls a Ryan tannehill somewhere (i don’t think he does but i think he has the talent in him to do it though). Shockingly he’s only 27 and i thought he looked solid when he got run for the raiders.

If you're Lurie, you either stick with the guy who rebuilt the team twice, his first rebuild earned two 10-6 seasons before Chip imploded the team, his second rebuild won a SB and two more playoff appearances before imploding - or you take a chance on an unknown or a retread.

Exactly what "football guy" is out there with a better than 50/50 chance of running a successful rebuild?

The top GMs aren't going anywhere, so you're hiring their assistants, of course, that's what Howie did when he hired Douglas. So Douglas has had two years in NY, how are the Jets doing?

It took Licht 7 years to rebuild TB, think Eagle fans are that patient?

Two gap? Basic 4-3 formation with NT and "3", bigger DE who can rotate inside on pass downs.

Cover 2, cover 3 hybrid, with press coverage on the outside and lots of disguising, also zone blitzes.

More like what we saw with J Johnson and Asante and S Brown, no one who can cover like Vincent (unless we draft Farley).
