We did last night. Either Carolinian Mayfield or Sufferin Slovis. Maybe Desmond Ridder can play his way to the top.

I think we should just wait till that DJ U from Clemson(assuming he's as good as projected) is eligible to enter the draft.

Howell does not excite me at all.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Wasn't Prince on the regular roster to finish the season? So he wouldn't have to be signed off the PS.

As I've shown, the team Howie took over in 2016 wasn't a young team, it had few 25 and under talents, so he was forced to either "win now" or totally rebuild, because it wasn't like there was a core of young talent that could replace the older starters as they aged out. He chose "win now" and won, but it meant they only had a short window to repeat, so he backloaded contracts to try to win once more before the team had to be blown up.

Players 25 and under on the 2017 team:  Wentz (25), Agholor (24), Vaitai (24), Jernigan (25), Hicks (25), Mills (23), Darby (23), Douglas (23), Smallwood (23), Walker (25), Seumalo (24), Ajayi (24), Gerry (22), Barnett (21), Clement (23), Hollins (24), Jones (21).

Was the failure of some of these players to develop until they left Philly on Howie or the coaches?

He probably calculated with the rising cap that when it came time to rebuild, he could quickly shed the back end overpays and be ready to hit the FA market after a couple years of rebuilding - that's still the plan but it may take an extra year due to the impact of COVID on the cap.

I believe just one of the 4 called up from ps like they had been doing with Jordan howard.

No, he was a one game elevation. It only adds him to the gameday roster, not the official roster. Countess and Ostman were both also elevated and have already signed futures deals.

Unless Wentz forces a trade he’ll be the Eagles starting QB in 2021.

IMO the cap hit is part of it, but it’s also pretty clear to me he’s a better player than Hurts.  Both QBs were a victim of the lousy offensive scheme, but Hurts had a 4-game audition to show he’s capable of being a mid-tier starting QB or better.  From what I saw he was not able to do it — he certainly didn’t provide any compelling reason to eat $34M and change course from the direction they are on at QB.

Again, if Wentz forces his way out (which I doubt) then everything is on the table

I'm beginning to think it's possible he may request a trade simply because of a multitude of things. I wouldn't call him a diva or a baby for doing it either. Howie and Doug ruined the experience and Lurie seems incapable of making sure his franchise QB is comfortable and surrounding him with people who want him to be better

Wentz ruined the experience by playing like shite. The fact that the organization has mollycoddled him to make sure he was comfortable may have contributed to the problem. Hold Pederson accountable for this. Wentz is a grown man making tens of millions of dollars. When did holding an adult accountable for doing their job become a liability? Maybe we should give him a participation trophy so he feels better...

What non athletic stiffs?  Are you talking about JJAW, Hightower and Reagor and their three cones and short shuttles?  We mentioned that earlier this year.  But they had the straight line speed you covet.

Well, since only 6% of NFL players can run under 4.4 ..... I guess the other 94%

Because you didn't understand the reference was to the previous sentence 'last season' you can strawman a ridiculous statement?  If your a wentzersnacker it doesn't really matter I guess.

And then he got added to the ignore list...................good work! Oh and it's "you're".

Wentz has been held accountable, hes a laughingstock and regularly destroyed in the national media.  The people who call him a "baby" are so woefully misinformed its not worth discussion.  Sure, hes a baby.  A guy who tried playing on a torn up knee and broken back, total baby.

Wentz has all the leverage right now and he is using it wisely, remaining silent.  If the Eagles do continue looking like buffoons, maybe he does request a trade.  Either way, its his choice and not the Eagles.

The Eagles literally blew the 2020 season in every way imaginable

Wentz, Ertz, 6, next year's first

Watson, Cooks

Totally plausible and 1000000% happening. Buy your Watson jerseys everyone!

I've hiked the Pemi Loop in New Hampshire twice....coming from Ontario, the mountains there, while not the biggest, were just...majestic. Like a completely different world than I'm used to. A chunk of the AT runs through the Franconia Ridge section, I've run into a lot of AT thru hikers. The best water I've ever tasted was the fresh mountain water up there, no filter even needed. My buddy was with me, as he almost always is:

When I was young the guy that owned and ran a shop for backpackers (before REI) in Houston hiked with his dog with a set up like your dog.  Ran into in the wilderness in CO and NM a few times on the trail.  Nothing as religious and inspiring to me than being above the trees.

I swear it's like we need a disclaimer for whenever we say anything negative about something other than Wentz

Please name the players that Doug and Howie have put around Wentz to make him comfortable. And before I get called whatever the next stupid adjective is people want to use when a person has the outright gall to challenge even the most ridiculous Wentz hatred posts. I agree this year Wentz hasn't played well.

I consider the Appalachian Trail a fraud because it only passes thru the great state of West Virginia for 4 miles

How can it be called the Appalachian trail if it doesnt go through the mountain state?  Baloney!

What are the best trails in WV?

I also wish someone would define the coddling that Wentz has supposedly got.

Peter King voted for Cole Beasley for 1st Team All Pro. Just remember that next time you see his opinion on something and whether you should take it seriously or not.

The Eagles need to hire a new OC and new DC — when are we going to start hearing about interviews for coordinators?

They need to wait until after their group therapy sessions regarding Carson Wentz, despite the only solution pointing to Doug's firing.  Once those are complete, all other teams have solidified their coaching staffs, and Doug P is still HC...........only then will their quest begin for table scraps.

MSM? What is that?

I can find opinions that say anything, especially if I edit and take them out of context. But no one "speaks" for anyone but themselves unless they're in an official capacity.

Like I said, cable news is all about ratings, so they pander to their viewers to keep their advertising revenues up.

My wife is a MSNBC junkie, I just roll my eyes at most of what's on that channel, I put on Fox occasionally for laughs, watching their anchors tie themselves into knots trying to justify Trump. But take anything on those channels seriously? Get a life.

I kind of like Shep’s show on CNBC at 7.

Selective reading and retention.  There was a supposition that John DeFilippo was the last QB coach here that was hard on Wentz (no idea if true), and that Wentz didn’t like it (again, no idea if true) — so, the supposition continues that Wentz’s play has suffered because he isn’t being challenged.

Because that theory fits a narrative that some people want to run with — it’s treated as gospel to them.

There's no free rides in my mind...little man carries his own food, bowls and towel. He seems to enjoy it as well!

You're right but if you have thousands of people protesting and 100 or so are causing chaos, breaking windows, vandalising, etc., that shouldn't speak for the entire group of protesters.

I believe this 100% but it needs to go both ways.  There are articles about airlines banning all Trump supporters based off of what happened at the Capitol. Also, it's really easy to see the media bias just by looking at headlines or the caption bar on news stories.  All summer long it was protest protest protest (while buildings were being burnt in the background, windows shattered etc.)  Don't call them thugs, it's racist.

Now the shoe is on the other foot.  What we had in DC by  a select few are now called riots immediately,  Trump supporters are now mobs, goons, thugs.  It was like this was the curtain being drawn for the media to no longer hold back their hate towards anyone who is remotely conservative.

It's eye opening.

Let's say that's true... that's a coaching failure on Doug and Press.  And they can both be gone last week as far as I'm concerned.  And they can take Howie with them for failing to provide an NFL worthy WR to throw to.
