Some would say we deal with Dave on this very board

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

But hey, some people here just seem to have unrealistically high standards for rookie QBs, or at least for Hurts as a rookie but not for Eagles rookie QBs of the past.

Expecting him to complete more than 45.9% of his passes and score on more than 2 of 22 second half possessions is far from unrealistic.

Don’t worry guys gonna call in the 6th pick for us.... we all want Mac jones right?

Good thing he completed 52% of his passes then.

The second half thing is so strange.  It's all you have, it's all you cling to.  I guess Jalen Hurts is never going to be good in the second.  That's just what it is.  The book on his career has been written.  Has nothing to do with the coaching staff either failing to adjust to the opposing teams second half adjustments.

I've posted before, but the first and second half splits for Hurts are comically bad. The drop-off in play is staggering. Teams adjusted, he didn't in any capacity.

Of course people came back with the whole "he was a rookie on a bad team" argument, but that's inaccurate. Yes we were bad, yes his second half was bad, but there are a lot of bad QBs on bad teams that didn't have near the drop-off. IIRC, his QB rating in the second half was in the 50s. THE 50s.

So yes it's all fine and dandy and we should "just give him a chance", but there are some serious red flags here that people are ignoring because "meh, he's a rookie"

And teams adjusted in 15 minutes and his numbers plummeted.  Now they have 4 games worth of film, I hope that the adjustment is not worse.

Nasty Nate nominee's are always the best.

might be my favorite CB , big fan of his , Bynum, Joseph and Mukuamu 3 other CBs I like ,

I really enjoy watching UCF's secondary on tape. Lots of hype for Robinson & Grant, but a third player, Tay Gowan also impressed me on tape w/ his length on the outside. Gowan has met/will meet virtually with #Eagles, #Falcons, #Titans, #Jaguars & #Rams to name a few

Yup.  Doug is the only one that is responsible for any failures.  Kick the scape goat.

I go for my vaccine tomorrow.  Johnson & Johnson.   If I have troubles, I'll check in and give a report.  If I am never seen again here, its because I've become a zombie and will be seeking to consume brains.  And since brains are hard to find in these parts, I'll be looking elsewhere.

I can’t believe what Doug did to our salary cap

...., and that’s why he’s highly thought of by fans, not beloved like Dawkins, or even Foles, but generally appreciated because fans understand he got the most out of what he was given, talent wise. Even he admits that Celek was the only dude he could beat in a race.
Now with his and Q’s weekly podcast we get the stories that we would of never heard about, usually self depreciating, which makes them funny.

And that is why I get my hackles up when folks go after guys like Ward, Scott, Avant, and even Celek.  Every team needs those kinds of guys.  The kind that do everything asked of them and their try hard makes them that much better. Q was just like that.  A little bit slow S that worked his way from the PS to STs to Pro Bowl S.  Now honestly, when Dawk in his prime is the other S, it does make the job a little easier but Really thought Clements was going to one of them.   J R Reed looked like he might get there.  That’s how I view T J Edwards.   Driscoll looks like one of those.  Never played C. But before the draft, practiced at C because he is willing to do whatever it takes.  Isaac Seumalo is one of those guys.  For five seasons, Jalen Mills has been one of those guys. If Sidney Jones had half the heart that Jalen Mills has, he would be an all pro.

If we’re gonna play zone, I love Adebo. St. Brown reminds me of Tyler Boyd.

Tuf Borland, though? Gross.

I like Gowan more than Robinson.  Mukuamu seems destined for S to me.  Not sure he can press or play man.  Don’t know if he is fast enough to play FS.

I think Adebo would fit our new defense well. Boyd is a good comparison for St. Brown.

I felt like this draft was missing DL and LBs so I tried sneaking some in at the end. Any prospect you get in the 7th will have physical limitations.

McNabb was 49.1% as a rookie.

Likely both in some sense, but Doug also didn't make him complete less than half of his passes or tuck and run almost immediately if his first read was covered. You know, something he did routinely in college.

Unless of course Doug coached him in college, too. Guess the staff at both Alabama and Oklahoma had Doug this entire time.
