Is that sarcasm?  Speed is nice but it isn't necessary for someone to be a good WR.  Absolutely wild how quick people here are to give up on young players very early in their careers who have shown something.

The fact that Fulghum's disappearance from the offense directly coincided with Alshon's return to the offense should be reason to be excited and reason for optimism to see what he can do in second year where he isn't being removed from the offense for an end of his career 31 year old Alshon.   Especially after that 5 games run of 29 rec, 435 yards & 4 TDs.  That isn't just 1 or 2 games, that was legitimate 5 games stretch of very high quality production.

He might not ever turn into the All-Pro he was looking like but to say he is bad because the FO/Doug went with the high priced veteran over him in the offense is going too far.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I cleared out all my vegetable/herb areas, trimmed off the winter leaves of the parsley,  Cut back the rosemary, sage, thyme and oregano (all made it through the winter in my raised garden where my planters from the past never did. .  Sowed some new seeds in the chive area.  I have had Cilantro and Basil in the hydroponic for the winter.  My peppers and tomatoes have been in the indoor planters since the beginning of March.   Expanding my bucket gardening this year from nine to sixteen. Adding zucchini and cucumbers.  Seriously considering building another raised gardening for carrots, beets, onions, asparagus and maybe some lettuce.
I am also going to try strawberries again. To defeat the damned rabbits I am going to try hanging strawberries.  They weren’t that expensive so I figured it is worth a try.  Fresh off the vine strawberries are so much better than the ones sold I the grocery. Hoping I can keep the birds away.

Put up some low tunnels this year for starting things early.   Also going to put in a small herb garden as well.  Right now I have starts for lettuce, celery, leeks, tomatoes, peppers, and a few others sitting under the low tunnels.  Some radish is in and started, and I sowed some carrots, more lettuce and radish yesterday.   I have green onions, globe onions (just to try, but I'll likely not grow onion bulbs again, they are just too cheap to justify it) popping out right now.      I bought some rosemary and oregano seeds, so we will try to get them to go that way, but if they fail (or are just too slow), I'll get starts.    The plan this year is going to include succession cropping that should lead to fresh greens all year round.  The low tunnels will go back up in the fall, and I am hoping to have the greens grow enough by the time November hits that I will have lettuce to harvest all winter under there, along with some beets, rutabaga, carrots and radish for winter.  And, I'm going to try two different methods to overwinter my sweet peppers.  They say it woks best with hot peppers and even then it hit and miss, but if I get even one to survive I would get bigger and earlier peppers the following year.

Agree 💯 I think the kid can be a star if he doesn’t think he already is

Fulgham also had an ankle injury at the time Alshon came back too - had surgery for bone spurs in early January but should be good for any OTAs.  Seems like he had a resiliency breakthrough last season too

The WR position has a lot unknowns and lack of production, but having spent 4 draft picks on the position over 2 seasons, over the lack of picks at LB, S, DE and DT and under performance at CB, it's not a massive priority as the roster stands today.  Who is starting at LB on opening day? Who is CB2 on opening day?  Who is backup DE and DT on opening day?  Or starting at S?

I would love to draft a WR high, but the paucity of talent on D needs resolving. If there was a level of talent across the roster (and cap space), you can afford to let the draft fall to you . We have to accept the D is a largely talent and youth free zone and act accordingly.

The idiotic contract extensions and dummy years have really burned the team badly, and it's a sugar high they cannot get away from.

I don't think he should start per say but Singleton should definitely get a chance to compete. He was one of the very few bright spots last season. No clue about CB2. Honestly thought Slay should have been traded. Is the new DC coach going to want to rotate the Dline as much as Schwartz did?

Singleton is a good story (and I am very happy with the fact that he took a position and held on to it), but he's also limited in what he can do. Taylor is a 🤷‍♂️ and Edwards is good as a 2 down back. None should be considered a lock.

I don't think Gannon will have such defined roles for the DL and Schwartz, but we just don't know either.

Fulgham may be bad, but playing Alshon over him is a firable offense.

Agreed that the first pick on offense should go on something other than WR/TE.  There is young talent there to develop.  It might not be all that good right now but this Eagles team isn't either.  They have time to develop that talent.  In the meantime the Eagles gotta start adding young actual talent on defense.

I'm big on Farley but I'd even like Surtain II.  Big long body and only 20 (21 in April).

To the source of the original assessment, yes.

Yet having comparably bad workout numbers to Michael Thomas is apparently proof that he’s good.

That’s proof that’s he’s a bad WR?

With McCleod?   That guy knows McCleod won’t be ready to start the season right?   We need multiple safeties and corners.

A Hooker and a Johnson sounds like a great pair.

We aren't talking about how these guys are in track and field events.  Why is Fulgham a bad WR based on what we saw?  He had an incredibly productive 5 game stretch where he was making some genuinely great catches and even had a great play where one of the best safeties in the league in Fitzpatrick laid a huge hit on him but Fulgham just took the hit, bounced off of him and kept on running for a big gain.  It wasn't like this was a guy who came in and just made a bunch of easy catches off of blown coverage or something.

Oh, let’s talk football then.  Cut by more teams than I can remember off hand, could not separate against anyone once other teams started paying attention to him, completely unexplosive in his routes.

Lets see how long we can cling to a 5 game stretch of fluke production like we were clinging to 2017 Wentz.

He’s so overrated by Eagles fans for so little promise, he’s going to need his own nasty Nate like award for regular season fools gold.

Could not separate against anyone once other teams started paying attention to him?  After his go ahead TD in the 4th quarter against the 49ers on MNF he had a 4 game stretch of at least 5+ rec and 70+yards per game.  Who exactly were they paying attention to in our passing game?  JJAW?

I took a jalapeño inside when the frosts hit last fall.  It lasted until the peppers had vine ripened but as soon as I harvested, it died. That crop I smoked on the smoker and turned into chipotles.  Good luck with your peppers.
Now peppers freeze well.  Just put them in a freezer bag.  I am just about out of poblanos but have enough jalapeños and Anaheims to make it to harvest.  I use them for cooking.  If I need fresh, I have to rely on store bought offseason.  This year I will be canning some jalapeños and maybe some of the Anaheims.  I may also dehydrate some of the bell peppers.  Living in LA and so close, I like to use sweet pepper flakes in some recipes and they are impossible to get up here other than way overpaying on Amazon. Red beans without sweet pepper flakes just don’t taste right to me.
Pop us a picture of your tunnels.  I am intrigued

They're still over I think

I don't see how they do much of anything in FA unless the contracts are paid by future cap years

Time will tell.  He blows.  WR X version of Greg Ward.  You will see.  I hope I’m wrong.

Since I pointed that out but also pointed out that at this point in his career Fulgham can either progress or be out of the league depending on what he does this offseason and used Robert Davis as a cautionary for where athleticism doesn’t result in what it takes to stick in the NFL, how in the world did you translate that into what you said above?

They are nothing fancy.  3/4" PVC 10 feet long, bent over the bed, with "Clear" plaster dropcloth over the top.  I put some old wire fencing over the top to deal with that last snowfall.  You'll see the props hace fallen over now in the inside shot and some swiss chard that made it through winter.  I'll get one more harvest from them before pulling them out.  They are due to flower this summer.

You also pushed for 50% drop rate K J Hamler last offseason.  How is that working out?  Every WR with sub 4.5 speed is not great and every WR with 4.5 speed or greater doesn’t blow.

Avant mentioned it on their podcast. He played through it but needed surgery to resolve it.

Cool.  Mini greenhouses.  We built a greenhouse in Houston.  Much easier than clearing a space and carting the peppers and tomatoes in and out of the garage the few times it frosted and for starting plants.  But I figured up here they would need to be heated.  Is that a soaker hose for irrigation in the winter?

Hamler is a bust already?

Fulgham blows because he’s a bad wr, not because of his 40 time.

It's possible it was on the other one, but it coincided with Alshon coming back and him struggling with no longer being the man after doing that.  By the time he got right, the season in the toilet...
