And still 12 mil over. They need to clear at least 16 mil more to get under the cap and have money for the draft picks.

More like 18 million over

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Why do you give Hamler more time but Fulgham because he didn't keep up his amazing 5 game production after getting a majorly reduced role in the office with the return of Jeffery?

I'll preface this by saying I'm a "Fulgham guy".

That said, the majority of the noise you hear about Fulgham "not getting enough snaps/looks" comes from the anti-Jeffery crowd.  Every report I've read and/or heard at the time basically said that Fulgham wasn't giving 100% at practice, etc.  His production drop-off also translated to the field when he followed up his blistering 4-5 game stretch with a stretch of games where he dropped several passes and just wasn't the same player we saw during his incredible run.  (One pass literally hit him in the hands and he juggled it into oblivion).

There's a reason the Lions let Fulgham walk, etc....so before we go crucifying the coaching staff for not playing him enough, etc, let's all calm down and get back to reality. ;)

I don’t buy that. I think the Eagles may be more competitive than folks suspect next year.  I suspect they make inroads towards curing their secondary in this draft.  There is a chance that the OL will return to health and a solid performance. The restructuring of Brooks suggests that.  I won’t be surprised at all if the WRs take the next step.  A lot will depend on health but it usually does.

This.

So many fans are writing next season off but they seem to fail to realize that the Eagles will have a 100% healthy O-Line(Kelce is back, Brooks, Seumalo, Johnson and Mailata).  That combination has enough talent to be a top 5 O-Line in the NFL.  Combine that with Jalen Hurts, Jalen Reagor and the rest of the younger players ready to show that their naysayers are wrong about them...well...we could be in for some surprises next season.

I think the eagles best offensive weapon next year , isn’t on the team yet .

If you think the eagles will have a 100% healthy O-line, it’s you failing to realize something.  No offense to you.  And literally, no offense for us.

If that’s the case god help us all

Nice play on words.  What makes you think they won't?

Sanders is already one of the top playmakers in the league.  Hurts has shown incredible flashes.  Reagor is just getting started, imo.  So if we add another "playmaker" all the better, imo.

I was taking WO , RB and TE , not QB

agreed. Im not counting them out next season. Not expecting title contention but I think they can be in the wildcard discussion. Theres some talent here. It will depend on coaching.

Very weird feeling so blah just two days away from the legal tampering period.

I had no idea it was almost here till I read a post earlier today implying free agency was close.

Dont know if the O-line will be 100% healthy.  I'm expecting Lane and/or Brooks to be hurt during camp.  But if they get lucky and have all 5 healthy then they have a very good line to work with.

Best thing I like about next year is the expectations are low.  Most think the Eagles are finishing last.  Best thing this team can be is an underdog and fly under the radar.

Someone will most likely be banged up by the end of TC but hopefully it's only one guy.  My money is on Lane aggravating something and missing week 1.

Instant playoff team right there.  Make it happen, Howie.  ;)

You don't think Sanders (RB) is a playmaker?

Reagor?

Goedert?

I expect them to add a RB.  Decent value on decent sized RBs day 3.  WR, if a BPA.  TE depends on what they think of Wilson/Jackson/Croom/Butler.  Just not convinced after the first three TEs that whoever might be drafted isn’t along the lines of what they have. Not a great TE draft.    I do expect them to add a QB.  Perhaps Sam Ehlinger if available in the sixth.   Not a great draft for QBs IMHO.  May be passable back up QBs though. I assume by taking, you mean in the draft.

80% of Lane Johnson or 80% of Brooks is still better than half the league, imo.

Hurts behind a healthy o-line, with Reagor in his 2nd season...plus one of Watkins and/or Fulgham breaking out....plus another WR drafted, Goedert, Sanders, etc....this offense could surprise a lot of people next year.

The only QB worth taking past the 1st/2nd rounds as a developmental/backup QB is Trask, imo.  The Eagles need a backup QB so if they don't sign one before the draft, Trask could be a decent option in the 3rd round or later.

No need to "rush" for a TE.  Goedert has shown enough already and he deserves at least one season to show what he can do as a #1 TE, imo.

Sanders' ceiling is a top 5 NFL RB, imo.  If he can stay healthy and go 100% for 15-16 games, he's a 1500 yards from scrimmage player.  Ideally, they find a big, N-S RB in the later rounds but no reason to spend a pick before the 6th round on a RB, imo.

Not sure most fans appreciate how rare Goedert is. Great length, blocking, and YAC. Above average straight line speed. Good hands and still some upside left as a receiver. Not many TEs I'd take over him.

There is a reason he was cut by the Lions.  6th round picks are fully expendable.  Some guys just need a chance to get an opportunity in a game to show what they got and Fulgham seized that opportunity when it finally came.

Also you can try to say it's some conspiracy form an "anti-Jeffery" but the fact is that the very moment Alshon came back is the exact moment Fulgham's snaps and focus in the offense greatly diminished.  It was no coincidence of timing.

If the Eagles continue the ridiculous stretch of injuries they have been having the  last few seasons, they won't be competitive. No team will be with as many injuries as they have been having.  Perhaps next season they will finally have some better luck on the injury front.

Those injuries weren’t bad luck or accident.  There was a deficiency, either with the strength and conditioning program or lax training camp by the coaching staff — or both.

It will be very eye-opening if the Eagles become a comparatively healthy team against the league average next season

Didn't they get a whole new staff during Doug's era though?

Don't know what the cause was but I hope it ended with Doug at least. Ridiculous amount of injuries

Josh Hingst was the head S&C coach from 2013 to 2020.  Not sure about getting carried away blaming one guy, but surely there needed to be a change made.  Minnesota has hired him to the same role for 2021, so we’ll see how they fare with their program.

Unfortunately some guys who have been injured repeatedly are much higher risk to get injured again regardless of any changes (Brooks, Johnson, McLeod, etc.)

They need an identity.   I'd love to see the run game be the main focus with Sanders and co.  Even sprinkle Hurts in there as a threat to run.  That could open things up for Goedert and the WRs.  Right now Sanders is their most talented playmaker and probably wont be resigned when his contract runs out.  They need to use him.

Lol and of course they just restructured Brooks and would have with Lane
