I responded to the post. You choose to attack the poster. Big difference.

BTW you know everyone can see and respond to your post right? Have you never responded to a post that wasn’t quoted for you? Come on now you sound like a 5 year old crybaby. Grow a pair.

I chose to attack? Go look at the exchange.

I said I don't care about your opinion. You then said I kiss Carson's ass. I said the insults have been your thing lately. Next you say I wash Carson's jock strap. I then tell you to grow up.

Lol then you have the audacity to say I'm the one that's attacking you and I'm the one acting like a 5 year old???

Seriously. Grow up

I'll just put you on ignore since you can't have an adult conversation

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I think you're undervaluing Sanders as a player.  He's not "just a RB".  He'll likely be among the top 3-4 leading receivers on the team, among the leading scorers and he's a "homerun" threat whenever he touches the ball.  So no, it won't be "Easy to replace" him, imo.  Sanders was playing hurt most of the season and he was still among the best (if not the best) player(s) on the Eagles offense in 2020.

And tbh, this conversation is about a year and a half early.   Sanders needs to continue his high level of production and stay relatively healthy to command "top dollar".  Plus, we have no idea what the RB market will look like in 2 years.

I don’t think I’m undervaluing him at all. The Eagles offense completely sucked in 2020, so 3 home run rushes with not much else does nothing for me. And he’s constantly injured while never taking a full workload. And he had unfortunate fumbles that killed drives. The RB market isn’t going to completely shrink so that it’s all bargain deals. Bad teams will keep paying RB’s and end up regretting it and other teams will follow. Smart teams won’t. Whose the last SB winner to have a top of the line RB? Either way this conversation is going no where and you aren’t going to change my mind. I’m not paying any RB top 3 money. It’s that simple.

So, we’re back to what I said hours ago...

Does not restructuring Lane Johnson’s contract this year put Slater in play? (The question was asked because a lack of restructure makes it easier to part with Johnson in the future.)

Dead money in future years is what I brought up in my previous post.

And we are back to what I said hours ago. No. They already restructured him so many times before they are stuck with him for the next two years. They restructured Brooks so many times he’s stuck here for the next two years. They restructured Seumalo so he’s stuck here for the next two years. Unless you want to play him at LT  why would he be in play?

There was also in the beginning of the season when Doug said that Sanders was exhausted and that's why he didn't have a lot of touches

That could have been from no preseason though

I also feel like that was part Doug protecting him instead of saying "we don’t trust his ball security”

Sanders as the feature back was doomed from the start. Always should've had a power complement.

If the Eagles trade back from #6 and pick up an additional pick or two, I could get on board with Rhamondre Stevenson at #84.  Resembles a young Lagarette Blount a bit.

I posted his video a while back.  I think he might be available in round 4 if they can back in to that round.  I like him.  Not a lot of tread taken off the tires either.

I think the headline should be....Jalen Hurts has posted more videos of himself working out than any other Eagles player this offseason.  I would hope and think that every player on the roster is working every day to get better during the offseason.  Their "job" during the offseason is to work out, eat right and hone their skills.

Could just as easily say, Greg Ward is constantly putting in work.  I'd also argue that running routes in the hot sun is probably a little bit more tiring than taking a 3 and 5 step drops and tossing the ball to 1 uncovered man.  Not taking ANYTHING away from Jalen Hurts, I'm glad he's out there throwing the ball but come on John Clark...are we going to see these once a week?

Now, show me the whole D-line together again, show me Lane Johnson hosting a bunch of guys at his gym and show me when Hurts has all the wideouts together.  That's content that would get me more fired up for this team....not weekly updates of 2 guys playing catch.

There’s a question as to whether Slater projects as a OG at the NFL level more than a OT

Much rather Slater at G or even Sewell for that matter.

The Eagles won a Super Bowl with a "patchwork" committee at RB...so obviously it "can"work.

That said, what happened the very next season?  They go from winning the Super Bowl to barely making the playoffs.  They went through 5-6 RB's that season, some of which were guys that would have been "on the street" had the Eagles not had a dire need at RB.  Do they win more than 9 games if Miles Sanders was on that team?  Probably.  Do they win the playoff game against New Orleans if Miles Sanders was on the team? It's certainly possible, given the fact that they rushed for 49 yards in the game.

How many #1 NFL Rb's do what Miles Sanders does?  Typically, most #1 RB's are the powerhouse, N-S runners and the 3rd down backs are the ones that get most of the catches, bigger plays, etc,  Miles Sanders does both as a #1 RB.  And that affords the team the luxury of finding inexpensive, N-S runners as backups Vs.needing to go out and sign/draft a N-S runner as the #1 back, then needing to find a 3rd down back who "can do it all".  (Much easier to find traditional, N-S runners than it is to find a RB like Sanders).

Bargain deals?  Any free agent RB worth starting in the NFL will command at least 6-7 million a year in free agency. (Bottom tier starter).   If he signs for less than that, then he probably shouldn't be the #1 back.

Miles Sanders has missed a total of 4 games due to injury since he's been in the NFL...all of them this past season.   Acting like he's some sort of "injury risk" when he's played in 29 out of 33 possible games, doesn't hold water, imo.   Now if he misses more games this season due to injury, then that's something that would be looked at and addressed when figuring out his next contract.

Plan A:

Let Sanders walk, sign a FA RB for 7 million.  Sign another FA RB as the 2nd stringer for 3 million.  Since both these deals will likely be "short term" deals, the Eagles go out and spend a high draft pick for the "RB of the future". (At least a 2nd rounder).  They go on to spend an additional 2 million that year on his rookie contract and another  2 million or so for the 4th RB.   So you go into the season with a JAG as the starting RB, an "unknown" rookie as the 2nd stringer and the 3rd and 4th stringers.   (This is after you just spent 2 years rebuilding; meaning the team should be a playoff contender by this point).

This plan costs the team at least 14 million in salaries plus a 2nd round pick...and they no longer have a pro-bowl level player at the position.

Plan B:

Lock Sanders in after next season by offering him a "guaranteed" signing bonus to extend.  In exchange, Sanders takes an average of 11 million per year, over 4 years.  Most of the guaranteed money would likely be front loaded, so if they don't see value in keeping Sanders after the 2nd or 3rd year, they could easily get out of the contract. They draft a N-S runner late (6th or 7th rounds) either this year or next season.  He'll make an average of less than 1 million per year.  Then they spend the same amount (about 4 million total) on the 3rd and 4th stringers.

This plan costs the team ONLY two million more in salaries, they retain a 2nd round pick and they have a pro-bowl RB starting for the team for the next 4 years.

No disrespect but who (or why) would anyone pick plan A?

One interesting side note. Is Nelson willing to come back?  Kid could definitely play. Just experienced a complete confidence breakdown.

My god would they even let him run routes again?  That's got the wrong "optics" written all over it doesn't it.

But this is about Optics, not Football ... isn't it ?

Until I see a different attitude this year, I'm going to call them by their 2020 Nickname  " The DEAD Weathermen "

I'd be on board with bringing Agholor back on a reasonable deal.

With a HC who identifies players strengths and plays to them... Yeah I'm not against it.

Well I had to do a who  I know  deal to get my first Pfizer shot today , I  would have been waiting a long time otherwise , still wrapping up phase 1 here in Maryland where I am located .

Nothing wrong with that. Why is Maryland so slow?

Jalen Hurts is working out with Nelson Agholor lol. Do it Howie, I dare you.

side note: can we stop with these stupid "QB is working out with teammates” tweets. Do people think they just sit around all offseason?

Some probably do, I'm glad to see Hurts isn't.

Not sure if it’s because the county I’m in or what , I tried going proper channels, which put me in the 1c phase , I already had the virus once , don’t want it again . As I commented before I come in contact with close to a 100 people per day , not willing to chance it again , luckily I have a friend who got me in on Sunday after talking to him on Friday .

Pitts is only worth it if he can be an X WR.  If he's going to be used like Ertz and Goedert is going to be used as before, it's a tremendous waste.  IMO, it's that simple.

If you draft Pitts at 6 to be Ertz, Goedert will walk.  Then you are left in need of ANOTHER TE one year later to come in and block.  So we'd have invested our 2018 top pick in a TE, #6 overall, and ANOTHER 2022 draft pick in TE.  That's absurd.

Either Pitts is an X, or he can't be drafted here.

I agree with this entirely. I think a lot of fans don't see past the current year which is never really good but in a rebuild it's absurd. This draft has to be about adding talent. Take the best talent at 6. IF ... there are several guys you like at 6 trade back a few spots (if possible - it does take 2 to make a trade happen). We already have a TE - if Pitts is the best talent on the board but he can't play X, Y, Z or the violin then trade back. But every pick has to be about adding talent - we need to think 2 years from now and beyond.

I think it probably does vary by county.   Based on what I have discussed with my family in MD,  it seems MD is behind NC but the groups are slightly different.  NC is on group 3 and opening up to group 4 this week.  I think that's roughly equivalent to all of Group 2 in MD.

The conversation about Shady being a HOF back is intriguing for sure.  I think a lot of us are still sour that he left.  Despite being a d-bag, he was a GREAT Eagle.  I hated seeing him traded and hated seeing him still perform at a top level.  I think it's easy for us to knock him because he doesn't have a Fletcher Cox or Jason Kelce type personality.  He also shows no humility at all and is out there boasting he's a 2x Super Bowl Champion....which he is despite not playing a single down in either SB.

Reub wrote a compelling piece arguing why he should be in the HOF and when you lay out the numbers like he did, I think he 100% is a HOF back.    Let's keep in mind that neither Shady or DJack ever wanted to leave the Eagles and were always outspoken about wanting to be Eagles.  Let's also not forget how truly special he was.
