You don't think it is strange that this claim happened against a star quarterback early in his contract that is holding his team hostage?  Basically saying he would never play for them again and demanding a trade?  Does Watson have any history -- at Clemson, at home or since he has been in Houston -- of this kind of story coming up?  I don't know the answer, but I have never seen anything.  Anything I have ever seen on Watson has generally been very positive about him as a person.

For me, it is highly suspicious.  Motives exist to change Watson's stance on playing for the Texans.  The claim may be perfectly legit, Watson may be a scumbag, maybe he committed crimes... but other possibilities exist here that are more likely they would usually be.  It's convenient that this claim may destroy the market for Watson.  It's also an opportunity for his current team to rally around him and support him.  It's exactly the kind of event that could change Watson's thinking and position on playing for the Texans vs. demanding a trade.  Heck, it could eliminate a trade as a possibility entirely.

I completely disagree that "few" claims are filed without "vetting" or "some level of evidence" to support -- vetting can mean different things.  It's often one accusers word against the other persons word.  There is seldom any "proof" outside of accounts from other people, what was said to others, etc.  In these high profile situations, you can have co-conspirators.  All they have to say is yes, she (the accuser) mentioned so-and-so did something.  Corroboration enough, right there.  Could also be an impossible-to-disprove lie.

In a situation like this, the standard for evidence should be high.  Had this happened last year, prior to Watson's stance about demanding a trade, I would not have thought this way.... Watson has too many enemies now, and some very powerful and influential people want to change his course of action.  I'm interested to see what this is all about.

I don't think this has anything to do with his trade request.  When you say the "standard for evidence," do you mean the burden of proof? There is no standard of evidence.  Evidence is either admissible in Court or not admissible.  The credibility of the evidence is determined by the fact finder.  The admissibility is determined by the judge.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Wow, we actually restructured a kicker already on a bad contract.

And Rodney McLeod even though this is the last year of his deal. Guessing they threw on 28 dummy years.

Oh my.  Now we're tired to an aging declining McLeod even longer when we need to get younger and better at the position?  Ugh.

The #Bears reportedly offered this for Russell Wilson, via

: • 3 1st-round picks • 3rd-round pick • 2 veteran starters

They should have thrown in a lifetime supply of Lou Malnati's deep dish.

He is killing it today , impressive length , 28 on the bench

Azeez Ojulari ran a 4.60 forty yard dash today, per SEC Network

He's a very nice prospect.  Would love to see more SEC guys in general.

Rodney was good last year. It's really a shame he tore his ACL. Bad luck.

What are the chances that Howie has been working quiet behind the scenes and come 4PM we see the Eagles sign a few 2nd tier veterans?  Was it the dream team year that out of nowhere we had like 6-7 announced at the open?

Not tied to him longer, just taking most of his cap next year instead of this one.

From Free Agency Frenzy: Based on conversations with teams who would really, really like Deshaun Watson, the #Texans have been firm in having no interest in discussing a trade

I can’t speak for Mosher but I think his point was: he’s young and he was coming off a injury year.  so if you extended him now you probably could’ve got him in a better price then if he plays the next year and plays well again and doesn’t get hurt. At that point you need to extend him and you’re gonna have to pay more.

Yea, I get it. I just feel a little wary of extending guys who still have multiple years left. They already did that once with him so he might not be interested in locking in a better price now vs waiting, especially after he saw what Big V got paid.

Carson Wentz looks to have picked his jersey number. #2 it is

Sorry bored at work but this worked out well IMO.  I forced the 33 and 65 trade for 37 and 71 in "hypothetical return" for Ertz to Jags

This is why we have the dumbest fan base.

You wouldnt trade... Watson for Reagor, Dillard, and Derrick Barnett.

Everyone and there mothers should do it.

yes boomer. its IE. moron

#21, #22, #14, not #6, #10 and #20.

Houston went 4-12 with Watson, think we'd do better the next couple seasons with no cap room indefinitely (after the $40+M extension) and no draft picks?

Slim and none. They've announced a rebuild, so why waste real money on 2nd tier guys, and 3rd tier guys you can wait until August when teams cut veterans after they get a look at their draft picks.

Looking at what mediocre talent is getting in FA, my new philosophy is go big or go bargain hunting.

Honestly the reason i didn’t like it was the chewiness of it. The flavor was good. I just couldn’t get over the chewy part.

Needs to be cooked for hours then it is so tender

It was an example to show how shtty our picks our and how dumb our fanbase is.

If you say "fist round pick" it holds a certain, speical, unicorn piss like awe that no one wants to get rid of. When you dumb it down and show ACTUALLY examples(dillard, Reagor, ETC) people would do it in a heart beat.

I dont know *Exactly* what the Texans want but 3 first is probably the right track. Considering we hit on 1 first rounder in 7 years. 2 of the last 7 2nd rounders, Id say sure, take em all for a 25 year old Franchise QB

Irony at its finest........but I digress.

If you think this fanbase is dumb compared to the fanbases of all other NFL franchises, then you are completely out of touch with reality.

Watson would be 28 in 3 years.

In 3 years were going to have(my guess) Derrick Carr, or some shi11y retread cause we havent drafted a franchise QB.

And we'll see how he holds up. How many mobile QBs are still top ten at age 30? Few can adjust and become pocket QBs, Wilson still hasn't, the fact he hasn't gotten seriously injured makes him an outlier. Guys like Young and Rodgers were marinated on the bench and learned how to play as pocket QBs who could run.

Look at the current active leaders in career yardage - where are the mobile QBs?

Alex Smith (#9) is an exception, repeatedly injured early in his career, five years from 29-33 before he broke down

Wilson (#11) will turn 33 in Nov.

Newton (#13) peaked at 26, pretty much cooked by 29

Tannehill (#15) bounced back at 32-33 after injury prone career in his 20s

Prescott (#22) got injured at 27, we'll see how he ages. We saw what happened to Wentz (#23)

RGIII started with a bang before he physically broke down

Afghan. Had some chicken rice sauce thing. The end results were so soily

My wife was in Afghanistan many years ago, when the Taliban was fighting the Russians and we were arming them When an Afghani restaurant opened in Phildelphia she went and announced it was not authentic. "Why," I asked. "No flies," she said.

I actually like McLeod. Feel like he’s one if not the most underrated players over the past 5 years. He’s not great but he makes tackles and doesn’t get toasted too often

Prescott is going to be interesting, dislocating anything but a finger is not the easiest injury to get over, he dislocated plus had a compound fracture and had a 2nd surgery in December (probably similar to Lane’s offseason ankle surgery) ligament tightening because of previous sprains.  Not that he was just a running QB in the past who couldn’t throw,  dude can throw, but his running days as a QB are going to be limited, at least cut in half if not more.

This gonna go well

I’m curious if his GPS speed looks any better.

All of the Eagles DB’s  especially the Safeties will look a lot better if the Eagles invest in a very good Linebacker or two.
