Yeah and Samuel wasn’t good until this year with the new coaching staff who used him much more creatively

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

We Fed boys, totally Fed. I can't believe how lurie/howie allowed this team to fall into the abyss

Allowed?    They are the ones who pushed it there.

And yet... Samuel chose to go where he'd be misused.   His choice, his problem... at least he got his money.

And that was my original point.

This team has more holes than what can be filled with one draft class. You don't have to worry about trading down to add picks to fill out all of our needs. Just take good players.

Yup.  The debate of fewer, but higher picks versus several lower picks has no right or wrong answer.

But the goal, either way, is to just add a couple successful big talents to the roster.  The goal is not to have more picks to fill more needs.  That's just wrong.

Agreed, I actually thought getting decent production out of Samuel was one of Joe Brady's greatest successes last season.

You'll see. He's just scratching the surface only 24 and runs a 4.32. Plays all over on offense including out of the backfield. They can be creative with him and Gibson out of the backfield. Samuel out of the slot. Terry who we can't cover on the outside. Logan who our scrub linebackers and practice squad safeties can't cover.

Better than any receiver we have pretty easily. Reagor is no where near the player Samuel is. We done, with a capital D

I disagree with almost everything you wrote here. Your boy runs a 4.3 and yet has never averaged more than 12.7 yards per catch. Ridiculous.

Thanks and that sounds like a really interesting career (at least to an IP nerd like me).  And you're right about how difficult some of this stuff can be to those who don't devote their practice to it.  My favorite kind of case is where I'm going against a commercial litigator who thinks anyone can handle a Lanham Act case.  The best IP litigators (of which I am not one) are the people best able to explain these concepts in ways that a jury will appreciate.

I agree.  I had a group of IP lawyers that we used nationwide.  I oversaw claims litigating the colors red (twice), orange,  and my favorite, the colors of the Italian flag, the word "steam”, the letters G, s and Q, etc.  Sometimes some of these seem extreme but then look at Louboutin’s win on red shoe soles.

The Flyers have a long way to go. Myers stinks. The rest f the D is mediocre at best. Patrick is soft - the next time he wins a puck battle will be the first.

Exactly, don't walk away from blue chip talent just to get a 3rd round pick.  They already have 11 picks.  Potentially 12 if Ertz gets traded.  You know Howie is going to move around too.

Stay at 6 and take the best weapon you can.  Pitts is still my guy.  Would be thrilled with Chase too...or if they DO trade down, give me Waddle.

Look at the NFCE

Dallas-  Gallup, Lamb, Cooper

Washington- Samuel, McLaurin, Thomas

NYG- Shepard, Slayton, Ingram, potentially John Ross, Barkley

Philly- Reagor, Ward, JJAW, Watkins, Fulgham and Hightower

We need a legit WR.  There isn't one WR I would take on the Eagles over any of the other NFCE teams.  It's pathetic.

Washington is a great landing spot for Samuel. They want to have as many versatile pieces as possible. Gibson, McKissic and Samuel can all move between WR and RB.

I knew it was bad but when you type it out and look at the talent the rest of the East has vs. the Eagles, it's alarming.  It's just bad.

That's the inanity of the bar exam, pass this and you can represent any client - sure you can. And every MD can perform brain surgery.

I enjoyed litigation but wasn't cut out to be a litigator, but law firms are dumb, they slotted me into regulatory law b/c of my energy expertise but I had never taken administrative law. I tried to convince them that my litigation experience would be invaluable (since the most important part of business litigation, and probably IP litigation as well, is the damage calculations, most cases are settled, and business exposure to potential losses determines the amount of the settlement). What I really wanted to do was antitrust law, but no one would interview me, seems antitrust lawyers think they actually understand Industrial Organization theory (like the average lawyer could read an economics journal article and have a clue!).

The two most arrogant groups of lawyers I've dealt with are Corporate Law partners and law professors without advanced degrees. In both cases, they don't know what they don't know.

Yeah but no one really litigates antitrust these days.  It is a choreographed dance with regulators to convince them that the merged entity won’t undermine competition and unfairly limit the consumer’s ability to obtain reasonable prices. It has become a bit of a sham but it is good for stock market valuations, bad for "redundant” employees and great for the contract holders with golden parachutes. Consumer protection part is a joke.

In 2019 it was criminal how many yards Kyle Allen cost Samuel. He was really good as a deep threat. Allen just couldn’t hit him ever.

Maybe. They get Duvernay-Tardiff back too, although I suppose they could be planning to move him to T

Samuel is a great athlete, but he isn't anywhere close to a polished WR. You're not going to put him out wide and expect him to win in press coverage every week. He has the talent to make big plays, but you're going to have to scheme him up a little bit.

The Flyers are only down 8 headed to the third period.

Correction - down 9!

If Samuel isn’t a polished WR at this point in his career, he will likely never be one.

Samuel and Mclaurin are a clever pair.  They both have high end movement talent.  Not sure WTF is the place to maximize that, but Fitz is someone who will sling it at will, so I'd expect both to have the best seasons of their respective careers.

The Eagles seem a pretty safe bet to go 0-4 against Dallas and WTF now.  This is a good thing.  We want that top 5 pick next year and the NFC-east makes that challenging.  We'll probably just get that split with NYG.

I don't think anyone expects him to be. He still has value. He's just not a Pro Bowl WR. He's a playmaker. Get him the ball in space.
