I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I swear I'm not trying to prove a point here (in fact, Dallas has, by far the best group here, so it doesn't prove much of a point)...although I would not construct my WR corps the way Dallas has at all.  But it's just interesting to look at the following data for comparison...40 times and height of the projected top 3 WRs for 2021:

NYG: 6'1" 4.39      5'11" 4.22      5'10" 4.48

WTF: 6'0" 4.35     5'11" 4.31      6'5" 4.59

PHI: 5'11" 4.59    5'11" 4.47     6'2" 4.58

DAL: 6'1" 4.42    6'2" 4.5       6'1" 4.51

Note: This may change for Eagles and Giants via draft, Dallas and WTF pretty locked in.

This sort of makes it look like we get our stock from a different bin than everyone else.

Howie read The Tortoise and the Hare and decided slow and steady wins the race

I wish the Eagles would take a hint that it’s ok to have more than one token fast Z wr in the offense at a time.

Now, Samuel has a lot of work to do as a WR.  So this isn’t some dangerous duo just yet.  But it’s an interesting move with upside for them.

We can bring Gibson back!

It wasn't about Herbig or Long.   It was about Peters or Long.   Herbig was cheap depth, something this team desperately needs (and frankly, he wasn't terrible once he got some experience).   Once the decision was made to bring in Peters rather than Long, there was no chance of bringing in Long.

Uh, didn't Long choose to sit out the season?

Why do fans assume that every FA will sign here if only we ask sweetly?

Not f'n Killins on day 1 of free agency. I guess it's fitting he's our first free agent signing this offseason since Lurie/Howie are killin their fans and this team

The real question is how many dummy years are on the end of Killins contract?

My sources say Golladay will not sign with the giants.

Waddle or Smith good chance one is available at 11

If they sign him probably means they would take Sewell if there or pitts

or trade back as an option. Less likely for them to go Chase and Pitts seems a little redundant with Higgins but I guess he could be traded. Chase Burrow connection ? Hope they sign him

This team has more holes than what can be filled with one draft class. You don't have to worry about trading down to add picks to fill all of our needs. Just take good players.

At this moment I think it’s preferable to trade back if the opportunity presents itself. I think forgoing the top 4 WR options to garner 2-3 additional top 100 picks would be worth it.

trade with Miami and receive picks 18, 50, 81 plus they owe us an additional 115 CURRENT points equal to pick 96 for our 6

But I guess your real point is we can’t control what other teams will do, it is what is.

Was thinking but roughly it would be cool if they came up with a great draft choice value chart and each team was awarded the appropriate draft capital and teams would use that capital to bid on players. You could carryover unused capital. If you trade a current player it wouldn’t be for a specific pick but for current or future points. I guess the way it is currently it protects teams against themselves, sure there would be a couple of teams that would dominate. If it’s not broke why fix it but thought it would be more interesting. Anyways ...

Steve Keim has been the GM since 2013.

Had a nice start, 10-6, 11-5, 13-3, even won a PO game against GB before getting blown out in the CF Finals by Carolina 49-15

Since then, 7-8, 8-8, 3-13, 5-10-1, 8-8.  Fired Arians, now on his 3rd HC.

The team that Keim took over had Fitzgerald (29), Roberts (24), M Floyd (23), Housler TE (24), Kelemente G (22), Massie RT (23), Campbell DE (26), D Williams DT (25), D Washington LB (25), Acho LB (24), Peterson CB (22), Gay CB (27) - not exactly devoid of talent, with three pro bowl starters.

2013 draft:  #7 Cooper G (derailed by injuries), #45 Minter LB, #69 Mathieu S, #103 (all pro 3), Okafor DE

2014 draft:  #27 Bucannon S, #52 Niklas TE (whiff), #84 K Martin DE

2015 draft:  #23 DJ Humphries T, #58 Golden DE, #86 D Johnson (all pro, then broke down), #116 Gunter DT

2016 draft:  #29 Nkemdiche DT, #92 B Williams CB

2017 draft:  #13 Reddick LB, #36 Baker S (all pro 2, pro bowl 3), #98 C Williams WR

2018 draft:  #10 Rosen QB (whiff), #47 Kirk WR, #97 Cole C

2019 draft:  #1 Murray QB, #33 Murphy CB, #62 Isabella WR, #65 Allen DE, #103 Butler WR [now an Eagle]

2020 draft:  #8 Simmons LB, #73 Jones T

Basically had two good picks in 8 years plus Murray at #1, Johnson was a one year wonder, the rest journeymen starters or worse

I always thought Keim was a lower tier GM. The only move I really respect of his was trading his first round QB one year after drafting him for a new first round QB. That was a bold and ballsy move, I hated it at the time also. I Felt bad for Rosen. But it’s definitely paid off, vets like Watt & Green signing in Arizona tells me that top level NFL talent thinks Arizona is contender worthy. Pretty good turnaround in 2 years time. Doing what he did was basically unheard of & against all common logic when it comes to team building and the draft. Might start a new trend.

Still don’t understand PP leaving Arizona, especially for Minn. Peterson, Watt, & AJ eventually being on the same roster would of blown my mind in 2013

No assumption made.  I stated that he was my preference to Peters at the time.  But the good news is that the Peters move worked out great.  He proved he wasnt washed up, could remain healthy the whole season and had no trouble transitioning to OG.  It was a great move by Howie.

WFT sign Samuel and we sign Killins. F'n Killins, a practice squad guy who had 1 carry for negative twelve years last year. This team has me numb.

McLaurin runs a 4.31 and Samuel a 4.32. This joke of a secondary is about to get smoked.

We don't have no money. If we did sign anyone I would be shocked

That’s if they nail the next two drafts. That’s not a given. More likely as they pick higher each round but still not a given

They should at least have the money to play in FA then

Which makes every penny available valuable correct?  Why would they take limited resources and sign Killins to a 2-year deal?

Yes, we're in for a long season coming up, lots of bad losses and not much talent on the team. We should all understand that right now.

You have to have players, right?

For sure, 11 picks in the draft plus UDFA.  Killins showed nothing, as a matter of fact he showed his speed doesn't translate to the NFL.  Maybe they have a  Raheem Mostert situation but it just seems strange.

Why do you post videos that apparently nobody watches ?

attention ?

I'm actually very pleased that this team has done next to nothing in free agency. I used to get excited for this time of year, but lately it's been a lot more apprehension than excitement over the inevitable overpayment for past production or speculation on overrated players. I'm more of the opinion now that FA should be a limited exercise for teams actually on the bubble of winning a championship. For a team like the Eagles, it's just a distraction from building a competitive foundation for the long term.

This free agency has been like getting gastric bypass surgery.  They are doing what needs to be done, but it's just sad and painful that it got to this point.

And you just know as soon as Howie gets some cap room, he's gonna bust right through that band and we're gonna be a bloated mess all over again.

If they had money they would be doing something , maybe not major moves but additions

building a team is more than just the draft , simply because you won’t hit on all your picks . If they didn’t have to give all those pay it forward extensions  to get under the cap , they would have added some free agents , and still might
