Woops.  Howie asleep at the wheel.  Only the Bills left for a trade, and they only have 5 million in cap space and a couple of their own FA's to deal with.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Since we have 11 draft picks as is Howie should just focus on a 2022 conditional pick for Ertz.

I think a 2022 conditional pick would be perfect.  Just condition the risk out of it for both teams.

90 rec?  That's gonna cost you.  70?  50?  20?  Hello 2030 7th round pick.

Yep, as soon as Pitts is drafted, Ertz's value will increase.

If the Eagles have close grades on Chase vs. Pitts, then maybe draft Chase and see if they can work out a 1 year deal with Ertz laden with incentives.  Ertz also needs to read the tea leaves in that no team is going to give him top 5 TE money after last season.  That ship has sailed.  He might be wise to take a one year deal laden with incentives that could pay him well and re-establish his value.  Now if they think that Pitts is going to be far better than Chase, Smith or whomever else, then they might have to just trade Ertz for peanuts and be done with it.

Pretty much expected on the type of players we will get in FA. This is what people should except. guys that when you say their name, most will say "Who?" Or "Isnt he dead?"

Yeah, Pitts and Ertz really can't be on the same roster.

I wonder if Nicky "Two Times" loves his brother as much as Lurie loves Howie......

An NFL head coach in Philadelphia referenced his former HS coach brother when talking about coaching to the talent of the players on the field.  That's our guy folks.  For those who didn't want Josh McD because of what he did 10 years ago, or Eric Bienemey because he would be another Andy disciple, or Duce Staley because he was a in Philly too long or Lincoln Riley because he was a college coach.  Remember the Head Coach, hand-picked by Lowie, referenced his big brother's high school team as someone he likes to point towards when developing a team.  I wonder what week of the pre-season the powder puff game will be?

Nice rant, that said, you have nothing to prove how or what McDorkles could turn into other than his first run which was ........................................hideous

False on both counts.  Giving the facts to counter his opinion is not trolling.  I have posted 20 plus mock drafts, and tagged him in two after he complained about people posting mock drafts.

20+ mock drafts posted?  Maybe create your own thread for that.   Seems like overkill to the rest of us.  You never say I grabbed ________ in the fifth because I like this about his skill set.  If AFan posts about a prospect he says what he likes or dislikes about the prospect.  Seems like you like the prospect because 1) someone else mentioned the prospect; or 2) the prospect came up on the game you were playing.

Apto is right about the incessant trolling of AFan.   Respond to his posts and disagree with the same level of thought going into you posts but this trolling of him seems sort of immature.

No different than his pining about missing on John Johnson simply because a couple beat writers mentioned him as a potential fit.

You’d think he’d understand why he was benched though. Maybe that’s just the first time in his life he was taken off the field due to his play.

SB win or not, getting benched in a game (really multiple games in a row) where you aren’t playing well and going straight to "I may not want to be here anymore” is not the mindset you want your QB to have.

Seems it was best for both parties for the trade.

Well luckily for you, you don't have to worry about it anymore.

Somebody help me out here? Fill in until McCleod gets back?

No way, that would be really bad. He's a special teamer and 4th safety. With our dreck possibly 3rd or even 2nd though. Should be a Rudy Ford replacement.

There's something wrong with that?

Doug was incredibly myopic in his usage of WRs.  We had a Z who did nothing but run untargeted deep routes, a slot who never moved far beyond the LOS for safety dumps, and an X who mostly patrolled the sideline for 50/50 balls.  I’d say that was far, far from an offense where every player had to do everything.

On defense, we had that philosophy.

But all the Xs did that and he liked to interchange his Xs and slots so both had to learn all the X and slot routes even if they did not fit the player.  He had Hightower running DJax routes at the Z, which don’t fit him and the one big Quez catch was an X route.  Go back and watch the non DJax routes from last year.

People kept saying this about Wentz and yet at the end of the day he got traded. Either way Ertz will either get traded or play here, I don't really care which

Ertz is too good not to get a 3rd rounder. One way or another the Eagles will get a good draft pick for him.

Lol there goes Howie's idea of two teams bidding against each other. Can't even make this stuff up anymore lol

Most backup S in the NFL have run in the low 4.5s, not sure why that is noteworthy.

Arnold and Mills, who Howie and Schwartz favored are 4.6 Ss.  Jenkins last couple of years here, he was a 4.6 S. Now if they all had superior coverage skills that made up that difference it wouldn’t matter but they didn’t. 4.6 cannot play centerfield.

Howie snuck up on people when he was let out of the basement. Other GMs know his playbook and it's not working, but he doesn't have any other moves.

Of course there is some crossover.  For the most part, it was an extremely pigeon-holed and predictable offense with rigid roles.

Ridgeway plays about half a season or less every season but hey, let's roll the dice there yet again.... At least he is young and looks decent when on the field. Trying to find some silver linings here

Afan is one of our best and most thoughtful posters, whether one agrees with him or not. Most of the trolling of him is done by idiots.
