I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I don't agree at all. They have enough holes to fill, they can't afford to keep adding more holes. It took time to create the cap hell...it will just take time to get back out of it.

But if they don't figure to be around or very good by the time team is competitive they should be moved now if they value.  I'd be listening to offers on all of Cox and Sanders.  I'd do the same next year with all of the guys we restructured this year.

Too soon?

I’m surprised Belichick didn’t go after Tribusky, probably cheap, and likely a one year deal. He’s still young.

It’s a good deal for both. Fuller gets a chance to hit free agency again next year and cash in or they give him an extension.

Joe Douglas is putting together a really nice FA haul without having to be stupid with his spending. I think Lamarcus Joyner is gonna be a nice player now that he’s playing FS again.

After losing Brady it would be a happy ending.

They should have traded Slay for something

I’ve felt the Jets with the picks they have and cap space were in a good position as long as douglas spent wisely and drafted well could be headed in the right direction. I’m curious to see which direction they go in with darnold. I like Wilson but i think darnold has never really gotten a chance to work with a good HC or have the talent around him to succeed. I don’t know if he would but not having Adam Gase and Bowles and having a competent oline weapons would help. I think the fact Kyle shanahan is still really high and if he went to 49ers he’d have success

Would be a hell of a trio catching the ball with julio, pitts and Ridley

A few more assault victims come forward maybe we can get him for a 1 and just wait out the 8 game suspension

Maybe howie is setting up whole thing

Nice add for the fish. They add a Chase or Pitts and they go from lacking in the offensive weapon dept to a whole nother level.

Go Atlanta.  Draft a TE with the #4 pick.

Just what the Falcons need, another explode offensive piece. Cmon, just let him fall 🥺

If the information is legit and Miami doesn’t go WR with fuller brought in. I kind of see the top 5 going

1. Jags-lawrence

2. Jets/trade— Wilson

3. Dolphins trade out — fields/lance

4. atlanta— pitts

5. Cincinnati— Sewell

Fuller is on a one year deal and is the speed element Miami needed. I'm not buying they don't go Chase or Pitts. These are two of the highest rated players in the draft and Miami needs playmakers. Chase and Fuller would be a great tandem. Pitts is just a beast that plays ball in their state so they are well aware of what he does on the field. Maybe Miami goes for one of the tackles but since we want one of the offensive weapons we all know how this story goes.

Sounds about right. I’m not buying the Schefter theory that 4 QB’s are going in the top 5. That never happens but is always suggested.

JMO, but I really don’t like Chase or Smith at #6 overall.  Julio Jones was #6.  Think either of those guys belong in that sentence?  Hell, do either of them have the pure upside to create mismatches early in their career like second round picks Metcalf and Claypool?

If that’s how the board breaks, then I really hope someone wants to trade into 6 for Fields/Lance. Otherwise, we’ll be stuck as the first team in the top 10 on the wrong side of the non qb talent drop off.

Devonta is closer to a Julio level WR than Chase.

I would think so.  The sleight frame generates Marvin Harrison comparisons (who qualifies as a generational player), but Harrison was more of a legit 4.3 burner.  Tory Holt is a better best case, IMO.  Also a silky smooth finesse wr, good speed, far from rare speed, but just a relentless separator.  If he can do that, he’s worth #6.  I just have a hard time investing premium picks on the assumption that someone will be an anomaly.

I just don’t like Chase’s game for the pros.  Hines Ward maybe?  Short, physical, strong, possession/contested catch wr with good but not great speed.  The Boldin comparison has been widely used too.  Just not sure either of those players transform an offense in 2021.

I think it depends on how you feel about smith and chase. Have seen slay and Daniel Jeremiah refer to jamarr chase as anquan  boldin with better speed. Also Brandon Graham the other day said go chase or pitts at six. Not that players matter but i think there’s a lot of respect about chase’s ability. However if you stay at 6 i have a hard time believing there’s a better player on the board than chase, smith or fields/Lance (assuming pitts and Sewell are gone). Don’t just take a QB cause you want one.

According to a report Thursday from the Inquirer's Jeff McLane, "the Eagles recently inquired about trading for Watson."

It's easy to disregard one report about a team being interested in a top player, but when multiple reports start surfacing, it becomes much more difficult to turn the blind eye.

Also, McLane's language is extremely specific. He isn't reporting that the Eagles would like to make that trade, or that they are "monitoring" the situation. He's reporting that the Eagles inquired with the Texans about a Deshaun Watson trade, which is a direct first step towards a potential deal.

Hate to break the news to you, but every GM at some point probably "inquires" about every player in the NFL.

I mean that's what they're paid to do, get on the phone and gather information.

Hate to break it to you I just posted because no one else did and if you read the article a source familiar with howie said howie would make the move for a top 7 young QB. you know the thing you keep denying quarterbacks are like Patrick Mahomes is unproven because I called him and said he was elite franchise quarterback and then you changed the narrative to something else

I’m still waiting for your response about how the Texans who are ranked 23rd, 20th and 23rd for the last three seasons in offensive line play by pff was close to special or decent when they were bottom 10 in the league twice and bottom 1/3 the other year.

Now that we know Lurie is at the controls, it makes it a little more interesting to make generalizations about their blueprint and what they look for.  We can continue to look at prior Eagle tendencies/identities without giving way to random speculation about what Sirianni likes or what the Colts did.  This applies to Jamar Chase.

Lurie/Howie/Lowie have been extremely committed to having 1 (or more) power forward possession WRs in their offense for years now.  Alshon Jeffery, 12 personnel, and JJAW are all a part of this blueprint.  They really, really want that in their offense.  I think that's archaic, but let's stay on point.  The 2020 draft, much to my transient delight, was a major departure from that.  And the initial returns are bad, quite bad.

Ertz has 2 feet out the door and JJAW is getting ready to transition to the CFL.  They are not going to be left with a single TE as the only big, physical receiver in their offense.

Unless they just fell completely in love with Smith and want to compensate for their SEC draft neglect, that might knock him out of contention.  Ditto Waddle after a trade down.

Pitts is really the type of guy that they would lust after and have above Chase/Smith.  Chase plays the brand of football they want in their WRs, but he doesn't have the height...not sure if they would still fall in love with him for that role because he plays bigger than he is...but I have a hard time imaging a Lowie offense that rolls with 11 personnel and Chase/Reagor/Ward, all pretty short guys.  In that scenario, I wonder if they might try to add some size to the mix and salvage JJAW in the slot.
