I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I don't think Eagles actually made an offer

Diagree.  The first reaction is truly human.   Not entitled at all.   Not acknowledging his flaws, how poorly he played, and saying the entire off season is dedicated to working on mechanics, getting rid of the ball sooner, taking fewer sacks is the soft part.

He doesn't have to acknowledge any of that to us and we have no idea if he was or wasn't dong those things.

I put them all in the same umbrella. You didn't see McNabb when he was benched in 2008 go "Ya know, I think things are done for me here." He took it like a man, and responded by playing his ass off for the rest of the season.

There were reports even dating back to training camp that Wentz looked awful. The drafting of Hurts clearly affected his play from the start. He displayed no competitive desire to rise to the occasion and prove that job was his by earning it. He thought he was owed the job, and his attitude and play reflected that.

No idea if the interest was real or not, but I would have lost my mind if the Eagles signed Juju.

He might be the most overrated WR in the NFL.  Kind of makes sense that Howie would be interested.

Yea, because he was benched for half a game and the coach literally said immediately after "McNabb is the starter next week." The situations are not even close.

Shocker.

That's nice.  Back when we had Wentz WRs came to play with him.

What does this tell you about Hurts.

We don't really know what he perceived or didn't or what he is willing to own up to publicly or behind closed doors, but his play was certainly an issue.  He's a smart guy.  I am sure he knows that, but I am also sure that he looked at the whole case and realized that he was not the sole reason for failure.

I'd say the benching was a final straw in the totality of his tenure that included 2 season ending injuries, a phony controversy with Foles,  the lack of talent around him, the FO continuously not doing the right things to improve, a coaching staff that constantly changed, the hack Philly media, anonymous player, a plodding offense, anonymous sources, our weak ass fans, and on and on....and an upcoming controversy with a lesser QB.  No matter how much money you make, at some point, that stuff would wear anyone out.  No matter how much money you make, being under attack for so many things (including his faith) is just too much  The benching was just the tipping point, but everyone want to just point to that event and then his silence.  It's time to open our eyes to the mass of chaos that he was in the middle of and how tiring it must have been.

Now, he's gone.  Good luck to him and the Eagles.   Hopefully, it works out for both entities.

I agree with much of this, but even still, things like injuries, the media, anonymous player...I get those kinds of things wearing you down as a player, but I don't see those things leading to the conclusion that you need out of here.  I think he was seeing ghosts with a lot of that stuff. And again, that's not to absolve the FO of everything else, but if you are starting to feel those things, then don't sign the damn extension and you create a win win all around.

You have no idea what McNabb thought to himself. Also McNabb started the very next week. Just so we're clear even when Wentz got benched Hurts himself said that Carson helped him, so stop with the personal attacks. Pretty sure when it comes to being a "man" he would kick your butt any day and anywhere.

That's fair, but I still feel strongly Wentz's attitude about the whole thing was poor. How he responded to the drafting and starting of Jalen Hurts is the #1 reason he's not an Eagle right now, and possibly the #1 reason why he had a bad season. Not a good look. Not how a gamer responds to competition.

Donovan Mcnabb is not exactly a testament to mental toughness.  Cmon guys.

He gave an interview after they drafted Kolb saying he was surprised, and Eagles' fans BURIED him for it.

The hatred part of this fan base has for the guy is unreal.

Juju what? The Eagles weren't interested, but they offered him a multi-year contract anyway? Huh?

I agree, overrated, but he's still better than what the Eagles have now. Oh well.

"Personal attacks" 🤣🤣🤣

Personal attacks would be me calling him a dope, which I did not. Not personal, just sports. I think he dealt with the Hurts situation very poorly. I have nothing against Carson Wentz, I was his biggest defender before this season.

Schefter backpedaling a bit

Kind of interesting to think about best qbs in franchise history now.  In 2017, people had already listed Wentz at the top.

Id say he’s firmly behind McNabb, Foles, and Randal....probably right around Jaws when you account for differences in passing over the years, maybe just ahead of Vick.

I would probably put McNabb at the top.  Randall and Jaws together given the longevity of each.  I think in terms of stats it's:

1) McNabb

2) Cunningham

3) Jaws

4) Wentz

5) Foles

6)Van Buren

7)Vick

Or why you should be skeptical of reports that say the Eagles "discussed" a trade or signing.

GMs talk all the time, doesn't mean there's real interest.

Not sure, but this FO is full of crap and has been for awhile now.   Drafting a backup QB instead of adding talent on offense or defense clearly shows a lack of clear direction and commitment to winning (especially to your recently extended QB).    He wouldn't have known that when he was extended, but I'll tell you what...I don't blame him for signing it one bit.  He trusted the FO and took care of his family.   Then they all failed together and he wanted a fresh start.  So be it.

Just imagine all of the garbage that we (fans) see from the outside and realize that he saw it from the outside AND inside.  I'm not absolving him, but I'm not going to play ignorant to all of the issues that he could control and the ones he couldn't.  At some point, all of the stupidity just wears you down.

Question is......would he be an upgrade over Greg Ward?  The answer is yes.

Some of us on here hate Ward and some like him for what he is.  But we can all agree JuJu would be better.

The hatred part of this fanbase for anyone that represents something different than them is unreal.  It's pretty sad.

For what its worth, this was McNabb 3 weeks later after the benching after 3 straight wins.

"I don’t go back to the benching because I personally don’t agree with the benching.”
And, despite saying he doesn’t "go back to the benching,” he kept going back to the benching.
"I kind of look at it as a situation [of] ‘Why use me as a scapegoat?'” McNabb went on to say.  "There’s other ways of going about it.  If all phases aren’t playing well and you bench the quarterback, they’re not gonna focus on all the other players, they’re just gonna focus on us.”

If McNabb went multiple weeks benched he would have lost it.

I think Foles is 3 at worst.  Foles had one big incredible season too, just like 2017 Wentz.  Then Foles tacks on a title run and a 2018 run.  Wentz’ 2018-2020 regular seasons certainly don’t do anything to move him ahead of Foles, IMO.

Who would want to play hard for a fanbase where the majority think like this?
