I think Alex Smith retires; wonderful story to make it all the way back, but I don’t think his leg is structurally strong enough to consider continuing his career.

Currently Heineke would be atop their depth chart; they’ll either draft a QB or bring in a FA veteran, but he will have a chance to compete in training camp

Yup, agreed. And Washington can finally get out of that contract next year.

    I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Heineken could start for about six teams next year. Hope he gets a look. Deserves to at least.

Another example of a backup doing well cause teams dont have tape on them. Just like Hurts doing well then slowing getting figured out. Happens a lot. Hes a backup, thats about it.

What is the point of putting an NFL game on Nickelodeon? If you have that you definitely have CBS which the game is also on.

All about the Cash Money$$$

Sure Nickelodeon paid the NFL a crap ton to take that game. You know the NFL wont turn down a big pay day, esp this year.

They just got rid of Marty.  OC candidates will flock here.  The OL will be better next year.  The WRs they drafted this year will have a full offseason and a year under their belts.   Carson will meet them all in Houston for some pitch and catch and they will be better in sync.  Doug has his tail between his legs and will give the OC more leash. On D, this is a good DL and may well get better this offseason.  The secondary in this draft should mean the Eagles come away with a FS and a #2 CB, at least.  I suspect DC won’t be a problem.

i love your optimism.

I just dont share it.

This team has seriously regressed each year since 2017-18. The talent level dropped off due to age and bad drafting/not being able to develop enough young talent.  The franchise qb, his HC and the GM dont seem to be able to work together.

I cant see these openings as being ones that are attractive to serious talent. I see this next season as the lame duck season it will be for Dougy at least. It will be a wasted season, like this past one was. Mainly because there is a serious age issue, and lack of young talent, and you cant fix that in one draft/offseason even if you drafted like the steelers and didnt have a cap issue.

our drafts have been really bad, that aint changing unless howie is gone.

How is a guy who doesn’t cover receivers and doesn’t rush the qb...in a league where defense doesn’t have much to do with success...ever going to justify being a top 10 pick?

Only positions worth a top 10 pick

  • QB
  • WR
  • CB
  • iDL
  • EDGE
  • OT

You could "maybe" argue for TE/G if you're getting a Nelson/Kelce level prospect, but even then I'd likely pass on them. Taking an off-ball LB, C, RB, S, etc. is insane. In 2017 the Jets took Jamal Adams at #6. Great player, but the Jets passed on Mahomes, Lattimore, Watson in the next 5-6 picks.

Now, I'm going to yell at anyone mocking Parsons to us at 6.

When given a chance, many players could perform better than the coaches expected, or confident enough to put them in game.  Heinicke is the last example of that.

Sadly, our Sudfeld when given the chance did not capture the opportunity.

I dont think Marty had anything to do with OC candidates not wanting to come here.

This will go one of a few ways.

A- Doug gets full say who the OC is a hires within. Result, Doug gets fired week 16.

B- FO and Doug interview outside, Doug is upfront that the new OC will help with the OC roles but Doug is still the top dog as OC. This is where you lose all interest from any good OC candidate. Result, Doug gets fired week 16.

C- FO and Doug interview outs, FO and Doug put it in writing that the new OC they hire will be fully in charge of the offense and gets final say on game plan, script, play calling personal decisions etc. This is the ONLY chance we land any good OC and turn this around. Result, Doug, the team and the fans have hope for success.

Fun fact:

Hall of Famer Kurt Warner had a five year stretch of...

An 8-23 record

27 TDs to 30 INT with 45 fumbles (10 lost)

Sure, Wentz could absolutely be broken beyond repair....or it could've been a rough year on a bad football team.

Something to think about.

I would take CB off that list.  In today's NFL impact corners are endangered.   In the past 10 years the only can't miss DB prospects drafted in the top 10 have been Patrick Peterson and Jalen Ramsey.  I don't like those odds.  I didn't include Eric Berry on that list because he was drafted to play S.

Random thought... I think Mike Evans is the #3 WR on his team. This is a guy who was worth the top 10 pick.

Have them go to a grocery store, Target or Wal-Mart, have them play SuperMarket Sweep and get their 40 times while sprinting with a cart, how many 25 pound turkeys can they throw, test their math skills by adding up the bills and so on.  Grocery stores/big box seem to be safe places so they should be OK there.

Number 3 WR that has 1000 yards and injured? What the hell are you talking about? Hes number 1 on that team and will always be

Evans is one of the best WRs in the league year in and year out and he did it with no QB through out his career. He was well worth that top 10 pick so you are very correct with that.

Yeah, we really have no idea what Marty’s role even was.

Did you watch the game last night? Godwin and Brown looked more valuable. That isn’t a knock on Evans, bro.

Evans was injured and was a game time decision. he wasnt even suppose to play, lol.

Evans= 1006 yards

Godwin= 840

Gronk= 623

Miller= 501

Brown= 483

He looks like hes the number 1 WR in the team to me :)

I was talking last night, not the whole season. One game dude. Right now. Playoff time.

correct C is only winnable option IMO. no OC will want to play 2nd fiddle to doug poorly calling a game plan that he puts together each week and doesn't adjust to what the defense shows during the game. which the OC will take the heat for failures and no credit for winning. then you get what's happened here the last 2 seasons , offensive coaches take the fall and play caller stays the same.

I think CB and iDL are in danger of falling off that list.

Kempski says it’s his understanding that the Eagles turned down the opportunity to coach at the Senior Bowl.

No combine. Players opting out. Limited information.

What a great year to bottom out.

Elite players at those positions are absolutely worth it. Why? They impact the passing game. If you can impact the passing game, you're worth a top 10 pick.

In this draft, I'm not sure any CB is worth a top 10 pick.

So it doesn't look like the combine is going to happen?  And the Eagles apparently turn down a chance to coach one of the sides in the Senior Bowl and pass up an opportunity at an up close look at 50+ potential draft picks when they need to infuse themselves with young talent?  I need to go find a wall to bang my head on.  This team.  It's like they just don't get it.
