Every year, for 5 years, Spadaro would say in camp that Pinkston gained 10lb of muscle in the offseason.  Dude would have been about 265 by the time he left the Eagles if that were true.

Devonta Smith is not the same prospect as Todd Pinkston.  He's a top 3 receiver in a draft where some analysts have said this year's class is better than last year's class.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Yet the fact remains that he still weighs 170 lbs and doesn't run a 4.2

If I'm drafting a guy in the top 10 that weighs 170 and is  barely 6ft tall he better be faster than 4.4 speed

I'm moving up if Parsons is there in the late 20's.  He's not only the best LB he's the best DE in this draft IMO

Do you mean pass rusher?

I feel like another analyst said this during the college season there were major character concerns with him and we discussed it then.

So you would draft John Ross over Marvin Harrison?

It's been around for awhile. I forget who but an ex player went on record and named him and others for hazing at least a year ago (not the normal type of hazing either).

Out on Bolton.

Same. Those are day 3 numbers. RD4 at the earliest.

It doesn't seem like his numbers were that terrible.

Devonta deflected when asked about if he would be excited if Eagles picked him. Said he would be blessed for anyone to pick him.

That's actually a good diplomatic answer.

Short, Poor 3 cone, poor length, not explosive.

I played highschool ball at 135lbs I was the second smallest kid on the team.

I now weigh more than devonta smith by about 3 pounds, though I never ran anywhere near a 4.4☹️

I often ran a sub 4.4 - when I timed myself.

Those questions are so stupid. They want to go as high as possible, they don't care where.

I am convinced that workout drills are meaningless for Alabama players given the amount of GPS data they keep.  There is not hiding his speed and agility unless he somehow can keep Alabama from sharing the information.

I'll bet they can make those calculations off film these days.

Iowa LB Nick Niemann 6030

4.45

3-cone 6.67

Poor agility testing, though you always have to test against film

Same with Gillespie.

You want good COD and form for open field tackling and pass coverage.

Not a fifth, preferably.  I could maybe see Ehlinger from UT in the sixth.

Ehlinger would be a good developmental QB, has the arm strength, athleticism and toughness, but needs a lot of work on mechanics and reading defenses.

Flatlined at UT, which makes me wonder about QB coaching under Herrmans.

Remember Sixers center Shawn Bradley? I realize Bradley is 7'6" ... but still. Sixers brought in a platoon of dieticians, trainers, body builders et al to try putting weight on that guy. If someone was paying me millions to eat as much as I could I prolly wouldn't complain but it wouldn't take long before they would need a forklift to move me around. Some guys just don't add weight.

That's why one coach used to take wrist and ankle measurements, the key is looking at a guy's frame and figuring out how much weight he can carry without it affecting his athleticism.

Bigger issue in baseball and ice hockey when you're drafting 18 year olds.

Still matters in the NFL, Smith reminds me of young DeSean, who went late 2nd due to durability and character concerns. Smith will go 1st rd, but I'd draft him expecting 3-4 good seasons then letting him walk rather than sign him to a big money contract and watch him break down in his mid-20s.

I think he weighs less than DeSean Jackson

Gross

DeSean was 169 at the combine but 2-3 inches shorter

I didn't look at the 3 cone which was worse than TJ Edwards. His 40 time is a little better.  It seems like he would strictly be a 2 down day 3 prospect.
