I didnt watch Pitts' 40 but I saw people saying it looked awkward.

Mike Evans looked HORRIBLE running his 40, and whatever his time was was clearly manufactured at a pre-draft performance camp.

But it didnt stop him from being a successful WR.

Pitts will probably be very good no matter what his realistic on field speed is. Despite any robotic looking manufactured time.

The question just still remains whether a TE at 6 is ever worth it.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Evans 4.53  40

I don’t put too much stick in 40 times , lots of real good players ran poor 40s

Dawkins ran a 4.61

To he completely honest, that Pitts 40 looked more like a 4.65

I can’t say if Pitts will be good, but Kelce is worth a top 5 pick.

A HoF TE isn't worth the 5th pick?

A hall of famer at any position but LS, P, K is worth a top 5 pick.

but he ran a 4.6 and was drafted in the 3rd round.

People didnt know Kelce would be what Kelce is if they let him last till round 3.

And what makes him great is not his athleticism. Hes not the specime that Pitts is. So Pitts' athleticism doesnt guarantee he will be a Kelce level player either.

How do we know Pitts is worth pick 6? Vernon Davis was even more freaky and probably wasnt worth a top 10 pick.

Is the TE position that important? What if you have a 6th round unathletic guy like Brent Celek? Arent you just as well off?

I guess it depends how you view pass catchers. Kelce in his prime was more valuable than Julio in his prime.

which TE went 5th overall and is in the HOF?

Go back in time I would draft Kelce 5th if knew what he would be

Travis absolutely what world are you living in

Interesting....

TE to me seems like a position similar to RB whereas you can find outstanding starters later in the draft pretty consistently.

Im not sure the position affects the game enough to warrant such a high pick. And Im not sure theres enough of a difference between an elite TE, and a player like Ertz/Goedert or even Celek to warrant such an early pick.

Something else- OJ Howard may have been an even better athlete with better size than Pitts. Is it really safe to assume Pitts is a Kelce level player and act as if Pitts is a HOFer already? Just based on expected combine numbers?

Travis Kelce is the first TE in NFL history with five 1,000-yard seasons.

Nick Niemann is a LB prospect in the 2021 draft class. He scored a 9.9 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 21 out of 2098 LB from 1987 to 2021

Yup his workout definitely got him on teams radars, 4.45 at 6'3" 235 and an insane 3 cone will get you noticed.

I just dont know what this has to do with Pitts.

A world where there are only 9 tight ends in the HOF dating back to 1961.  I wouldn’t pencil him as of right now.

Even if he is.  It’s a dumb argument.  Since like H.E. said that Kelce was drafted in the 3rd.

Kelce has already cracked the top-10 leaderboard at the position in receptions (612), receiving yards (7,881) and touchdowns (48) despite playing the 23rd most games (111) through his first eight seasons

Wlb for some team

If the Eagles think Pitts will be Kelce then you take him.

In 2003 the Eagles took LJ Smith (6'3" 250lbs) in the 2nd round because of his athletic ability at TE and AR thought he was a better fit than Jason Witten (6'6" 260) who the Cowpies got in the 3rd round - Dallas Clark 1st, Bennie Jopu 2nd went before both of them and Teyo Johnson in between.

Jason Witten will probably end up in the HOF and I wouldn't take him in the top 10 even if I knew what I was getting. If Pitts is just a TE he's a late 1st pick and I'd rather have Chase.

That’s been my problem with people. I like pitts but people assume cause he was good in college and has good numbers that he’s automatically going to be kelce. He very well might be. He very well might just turn into oj Howard where he never lives up to the hype that people had for him. He might be Vernon Davis or Evan engram who are good (solid really for engram). I think this he’s a lock to be great is exactly what people did with prospects last year and the year before. I get loving and liking someone but have realistic expectations it is more unlikely for him to be kelce who became the best tight end in the league for nearly half a decade.

I meant moreso if you could go back knowing how Kelce turned out. I see what you’re saying though.

For me it’s Chase or trade back.
