I don't get the "Kelce was drafted in the 3rd so we don't need to draft a TE round 1" argument when you can find steals of every position in later rounds. If the Eagles believe Pitts can be an elite TE/WR, then he is worth the pick.

Nah, not if the "eagles believe it" because they F up so many draft picks. If he is elite then maybe he's worth it.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Who's Elliot?

A figment of his/her drug induced imagination

Willing to bet 99% of the fanbase that's pounding the table for Pitts never heard of him before this season.

I’d probably go chase if I were the eagles , or trade back

if you feel TE is a must , draft Jordan later , I think he could end up top TE in the draft

or Tommy Tremble , got the hands , ND just didn’t use him in the passing game , he is the best blocking TE in the draft and it’s not close

While probably false, what does that matter? Most people probably had no idea who Joe Burrow was before his senior season either.

Regarding Pitts and is he a TE or a WR, I really don't think it matters.  He's a mismatch.  Forget his 40 time.  Look as his frame, look at his wingspan and his catch radius.  He flat out gives Hurts a huge target to throw to.  He's a weapon for the offense and that's all I care about.  There was a tweet I saw yesterday that was kind of silly but it said "the ball doesn't care if you're a WR or a TE." or something along those lines.

Every team in the NFCE has weapons for their quarterbacks.  Look at some reaction in here.  Giants signed Galloday and now we need to draft a CB to cover all these WR in the NFCE.  I don't disagree that we need help at corner but are there ANY players on the Eagles where opposing teams or fans are saying crap, how are we going to cover that guy!  NOPE.  None.  We have no players, and that isn't an exaggeration, who strike fear in the other teams defense.

Kyle Pitts brings that weapon to the offense.  I don't care if he's listed as a TE.  I don't care if he's listed as a WR.  He will line up all over formations which makes him that much more dangerous.  Teams will have to know where he is on every single play.  I like Chase but I don't think he strikes that same fear or has that mismatch capability that Pitts does.

I also don't like the Pitts and Vernon Davis comparisons.  They are completely different players.  Vernon Davis was a 6-3 250 fast bowling ball.  He had 32" arms and his hands were 8.75".  He was overdrafted because of his 40 time and 40 time alone.   Pitts on the other hand is 6-6 240.  I'm very interested to see what his arm/hand measurables are because he just snatches the ball. They are not the same at all.

We need to surround Hurts with all of the talent we can.  We all like Goedert but let's be honest, he's still a question mark despite the hype.  He misses games, had some fumble issues and hasn't dominated the way we thought he would.  We don't know what Reagor is.  Same with Fulgham, Hightower and Watkins.  The only guys we know for sure about are Greg Ward and his pedestrian slot WR numbers (and I'm a Ward fan) and JJAW is a bust.

Pitts is a blue chip, elite talent and that's exactly the complaint we get when we are picking in the 20s.  There's never any blue chip talent when the Eagles pick.  Well here we are, pick 6 and the opportunity to take a guy like him.  You do it.  Part of me hopes he goes early so we don't have the option to not pick him.  I've been the Pitts cheerleader here ever since I proposed the Goedert trade.  The last thing I want to see now is the Eagles pass on him just to see him dominate somewhere else.

Also, notice the original tweet.  Position: Weapon.

That's exactly right and it sounds like Pitts doesn't want to be labeled a TE.

Even if that's the case it doesn't matter.  That's half of what makes college football so great.  Watching guys come out of nowhere and dominate or seeing guys finally hit their potential.  You can say that with 95% of the prospects in the draft.

We've been force fed Trevor Lawrence as the top pick in the draft the minute he stepped on campus at Clemson.  Justin Fields was on the QB1 Netflix show, then PSU, then decommitted, then UGA and finally OSU.  We've all heard about him for years because of all of this.  Insert any Alabama player and you've most likely heard of them.  Pitts was a popular name coming in to the 2020 season although not near the hype as he is now.

Effing A where’s #9?

Let’s just say for ****’s and giggles, we did take Pitts at 6. What kinda of value would Goedert fetch in a trade?

3rd and 6th. Just a guess

Why would you trade him ? Deep teams have 2  quality TEs

What a crybaby thing to say on his part

I don't think so. Leblanc in my opinion was the eagles best nickel when healthy over the past few years yet seemed Schwartz did everything possible to keep him off the field playing sidney jones at nickel, maddox at nickel both of who were awful there.

I wish strap nothing but the best maybe he'll find a team that has money to spend and will play him.

If a team out there is as dumb and desperate as the 2020 Falcons were with Hayden Hurst, then 2 1sts. I kid.

But really, Goedert is worth at least a 2nd, and I wouldn't even do that if I were the Eagles. Above average at every phase of TE play, great athlete, tackle length, only 26. Underrated by the fan base who expected him to go off last year playing with the abominations that were 2020 Pederson and Wentz.

This isn't a deep team.  They can barely field a team of below average starters at the moment.  If Pitts is that good and Goedert has high value, trade him and use the other picks for more important positions like DE, CB, S, WR, OL, etc.

Yeah well crying like a baby over social media says otherwise to me

If we draft Pitts at 6 it isn't for him to be exclusively a TE... My guess is he would be mainly the X receiver

OK?  That’s a pretty low bar.  And not with the 6th overall pick.  We just drafted 3 WR last year.  One in the first round.  Would be idiotic to draft a TE/WR with our 1st.  But I’d rather it be Chase or trade down and get Waddle.

Yeah with Farley's injury, I'm jumping on the trade down and draft Waddle bandwagon.

I like drafting scheme-proof guys in the 1st as much as possible. It's why I think Cox has so much value because he's big time in every scheme. If Pitts can't consistently dominate at X, then he has to be matched up with a creative OC. That's too limited for my tastes. Chase and Waddle project to be great regardless of scheme, and I'm hoping the Eagles walk away with one of those guys (even though I hate Waddle being 23).

I posted this scenario months ago.

The Falcons traded a 2nd and 5th for Hayden Hurst and a 4th.  Goedert is 26, the same age as Hurst when he was traded.  Goedert also has better numbers that Hurst.

DG: 137 catches 1465 yards, 12 TD

Hurst: 99 catches 1083 yards 9 TD

I would want a 2nd and 4th for DG and a 5th.

My initial proposal was trading Godert for a 2nd and 4th then trading Ertz for a 4th and bringing back Dick Rod as TE2.  That was when I thought Pitts was purely a TE.

You have to also consider the fact that DG is due a huge contract.  He could be looking at $60 million.  I think that's a luxury the Eagles can't afford with the amount of holes on the team.

Even if we don't draft Pitts.  There are a lot of natural TE's available in this draft who the Eagles should target in the middle rounds.

I really doubt it, but it doesn't matter. It's just funny to me that some people (talking those beyond the board as well) are all in on this guy because they watched a few Youtube videos and are buying into the hype.

I know a 1% guy who doesn't pound the table and hadn't.
