Jason Avant played WR at that speed.

He sure did.  And had great hands and is one of my favorite players from that era.

That said, his best season was what? 679 yards receiving.  Are you drafting a guy 6th overall in hopes he gets you 679 yards receiving?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Green Bay is low-key one of the worst organizations in the league.

I doubt it really is $6M.

Keep in mind he’s 6-6. Different stride than a 6-1 guy.

That’s true and it’s only a clip.  I’m still hesitant in taking a TE at 6th overall, especially when we already have Dallas Goedert on the roster.  How many teams have a focal point at the TE position?   I think one too many fans seems to think it will be the equivalent of how NE did it.  But even NE only did it for a couple of years. And I don’t think they were any better than their best teams when they did it.  So why go in that direction?

I think Jets trade out of #2

I think Davis gets a small bonus for promoting pre-draft disinformation.

man Pitts has an odd stride that didnt look like a 4.46 but it times that way. maybe just really long strides at his height and a slow build

He lacks explosiveness off the line, that’s what separates a beast like Megatron who’s close to Pitts size, from everyone else including Pitts.
Trask throws catchable passes to go along with Pitts’s great hands, then again at 48 years young, and two shoulder reconstructions, me and Trask likely have similar arm strength. It’s easy to catch passes when the ball is soft tossed, spiral or not.

The pandemic forcing Howie to shop for value has been something.

this kid can play - dont understand why he isnt rated higher

Isn’t he projected to play nickel?

Yep.  Please lets not even try to compare Megatron (6.6, 4.3 40 - insane speed for that size).  Megatron was a multi-generational talent at his size.  I have yet to see another "comparable" player.

His size

His size

Good value after the 3rd round?  Thoughts?

I personally dont see him as a TE, to me he is a WR that can be moved in multiple spots. Hes a mismatch nightmare. To me its all about his route running and hands that determines his draft rank. His speed doesnt concern me nor his position label.

You need to be able to get off the line at the NFL level.  If he doesn't have a burst/speed off the line, a fast NFL LB will be able to cover him.  If people think this guy is more of an H-Back vs TE he needs to show that he will be able to shed fast LB's/DB's at the NFL level.

"cheap". May I pretty please get a million or two?

Dude is a flat out beast and yet his production the last year has been minimal at best due to injury.

I'd be pretty cautious drafting someone his size with his Injury history.

The kid can really run and jump and in today's wide open nfl offenses guys like him with limited size but plus athletes have more value than past years

Interested to see where he goes, I imagine Andy Reid and chiefs would be salivating over his workout.

He’s a lot like Claypool last year in terms of risk reward.  If a team like our Eagles draft him, he’s a bust.  If the Chiefs draft him at 31 to replace Watkins, then you know everyone missed out.

For this team? Depending on if you believe what most assume Gannon wants at CB I don't see him playing outside here, so he would likely be Nickel. I think he's talented just don't know how good of a fit as well as value to the current roster.

This.  Landing spot matters.  Imagine Kelce's career if he had ending up in Cleveland or Jacksonville.

yes but safety as well - very curious to see what he runs b/c he has plenty of experience playing single high

3/31 is LSU proday - lots to watch there

Claypool is an interesting comparison.  6-4 240 and ran a 4.42.  He has 32" arms and huge hands at 9 7/8" (compared to Vernon Davis at 8 3/4").  I would have loved to have Claypool last year.  Pitts is a better Chase Claypool.

Sidenote.  Underrated Eagle I always liked....Luther Broughton.  Thought he was tremendously underused when he was here.

The sense is that Gannon may run much more 2-high that Schwartz.

We have no idea how this staff is going to use incoming players which is a little bit exciting but also semi nerve wracking.  Previous staff seemed clueless on how to get the best out of the players on the roster.  Siriani has said all the right things, heck we might even see the Wing-T! I kid but he sure does spread the message that they will build around player strengths.
