Ruggs was much more of a straight line speed guy.  Go back and look at 2018 and 2019 Waddle highlights.  The guy is kind of like Dante Hall in terms of quickness.  Plus he has speed, immediately improves KR and PR.  He's just a ridiculous quick twitch + speed guy.

How are his hands?  Route running?  Yards after catch?  Injury history? Why didn’t he have more production in a program like Alabama’s where everyone seemed to get 1k yards (or more) receiving over the past 2-3 years?

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

And we go up for Lawrence

Aren’t the Jaguars picking Lawrence at 1?

Anything more than that for Flacco is a pass, IMO.   3-4 mil base then if he ends up playing more than expected, some incentives, etc

Yes

Doubt the Eagles can afford him. They have 3 million in cap room and couldn't afford Adoree Jackson. Nelson is better.

I agree that he looks "fluid" on his tape/highlights and generally that's "ok" for a TE.  But when it comes to WR's, being "fluid" (especially on routes) isn't necessarily a good thing.  You want a guy that has the capability of "extreme cuts" on routes.  Being "fluid" on a route tree (for a WR) is generally viewed as running "lazy routes".

That said, I haven't seen too much of his tape.  How does he look like when running aggressive routes?  Is he more "fluid" or can the guy "cut on a dime"?

No he's not cutting on a dime, he slow plays the DB a lot then when the DB opens his hip he'll make his cut and while it's not cut on a dime ability it's sudden and surprising especially for a guy his size, and with his wing span and hands and leaping ability he doesn't need a ton of separation.

He reminds me actually if tee higgins.

Higgins isn't the fastest guy but he has fluid quick hips and feet for his size and a really big wing span with huge hands.

Pitts is about 2 inches taller and a better leaper than higgins but both have really big soft mitts and are able to extend and pluck.

Pitts might even be  faster than higgins who was 4.5 -4.6 guy and done thought he would be too slow to create separation in the pros yet he showed the foot quickness to be able to create enough separation and I think pitts does as well.

At some point got to believe they crap or get off the pot with ertz. Really feels like the eagles don’t realize he doesn’t have a great market. Maybe they go into the season and hope to increase his value by the deadline but i feel that could also blow up in their face

Nobody wanted to trade for him and pay $8.25M. Adoree is younger and has more pizzazz to get an unwarranted contract. I bet Nelson signs for cheaper.

So does Pitts even need to get drafted or does he go right to the Hall of Fame?

Yeah the hype in the Blog about him is through the roof.  I like him as a player and think he could eventually perform well at the NFL level.  But I don’t like him for the Eagles at 6 or even top 10.  Not when we already have Goedert who should do fine in the #1 TE role.

Pitts is a high ceiling prospect but how high?   Will he become the next Kittle?  Maybe, but even so, are we really drafting him at 6 knowing he will not get the amount of looks/targets having Goedert on the team as well?  Even if he’s a "special” talent he’s still not lining up out wide, etc and how difficult is it to cover an offense when you know a good portion of targets will be inside going to either Pitts, Goedert or the slot.?

How happy will fans be with 50-60 receptions for 700-800 yards?   For a TE that’s great but we already have that in Goedert.  Pitts would need to be a 90+ catch/1200 yards a year guy to be worth taking at 6.  Do people really see that happening with Goedert on the other side of him?

2.38 million according to OTC, before the Anthony Harris signing and the full details of all the restructures.

Idk.  Higgins seems to have very good "in game” speed and plays even bigger than his size.

Are you taking Pitts at 6 if he’s there?

Eagles trading down to 8 or 9 to take Patrick Surtain looks more appealing by the day. He immediately solves CB #2, and CB #1 long-term, and there will be good available WRs at the top of RD 2 (Batemen, Toney, etc.).

Only if Trask and Toney carry him to Canton...

I don’t think Bateman gets there, and Im not sure we want to spend a high 2 on a slot like Toney.

6 seems a bit high for me, if he could function in line as a receiving TE as well but he's absolutely useless in line as a blocker and a receiving threat.

I see him strictly as a WR that can play XYZ and I don't think he'd be worth # 6 to be a big WR.

Pittman in indianapolis from USC is comparable as well. Big tall guy big wing span big hands not super sudden though I think like you say higgins has better game speed than pittman and Pitts but both pittman and higgins went after the first round.

If Pitts could line up at TE and  block  and be a receiving threat then maybe I'd consider him but  as is no way at 6 for me.

?????? There is no doubt.  Urb came back to coach him, the owner loves him, there is no mystery to this pick, there will be no trade out.

Pitts could go #1 overall

Eagles would have to trade down far into back half of 1st or trade up from 37. They could trade back to 8-12 and pick up some ammo. If not, they would probably need to trade #37, #70, and a future day 2 pick to move up to 24-26ish.
