I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

It seems the majority don't want the Eagles to take Pitts. But they acknowledge he appears to be an elite prospect. I don't know what these two jabronis are rambling on about.

The 1st round could get interesting.  Do you guys think DeVonta Smith dropped out of the top 10?  Top 15?

but do they know Pitts is already in the NFL HOF yet?

Only due to Kyle Trask

Are the two mutually exclusive?

You can't think that Pitts could be a "decent" prospect but not want the Eagles to take him at 6 (or at all because of A. Goedert B. Other needs)?

Smith could go #3 overall or #15.

Tape is elite. Measurables are not.

Trask could become a player eventually.  He looked pretty good out there last season.

Yeah I was referring to him refusing to run a 40 or the fact that his "bulked up" weight is now (apparently) 170 lbs?  Has he dropped this past week?

I don’t think Bateman gets there, and Im not sure we want to spend a high 2 on a slot like Toney.

If Bateman runs anything under a 4.5 40 at his pro day, he's probably a top 20 pick, imo.

Devonta Smith saying he weighs 170lbs right now definitely means he's at like 166 max

Basically it's extending how long we are gonna suck. I'd rather be really really bad this year and get past it then spread it out over multiple years.

I don't think there was a choice about some of these players although I think they could have cut Kelce and maybe saved money doing post June 1.  The good news is that probably Lane and Hargrave should still be decent in 2023 I hope.  The bad news is that if Jalen Hurts proves to be a decent starter they will either have to pay him by 2024 or franchise tag him eating up a lot of that 2024 space.

Willing to bet 99% of the fanbase that's pounding the table for Pitts never heard of him before this season.

I'm willing to bet that the ones that like Pitts are also the ones that hated Gesicki.

Because the Eagles have about 52 other needs on this team. So much of how prospects do hinges on the team that selects them and knows how to use them. He's a bad fit for how this team is currently constructed. But he'd be a very good fit with a team like Cincinnati or Dallas. Do you not understand this?

The Giants have apparently been linked to Smith.  It wouldn't surprise me if that's where he goes.

I think they actually weighed him.

I liked Smith prior to the reports this past week.  Some red flags now, imo.  Most expected him to run around a 4.5 (or slightly less) but after this week, I’m not so sure.   He’s basically DeSean Jackson’s size ( slightly smaller) but nowhere near the speed.   How will he get off the line at the NFL level at that size but no burst?  Even Jackson (with super elite speed and explosiveness) struggled against press coverage (at times) earlier in his career.   Jackson eventually used his explosiveness to overcome those issues but he did it because of his elite level speed, etc.

Do you see Smith being able to do that in the NFL?

I think there's likely enough tracking data on him in college that teams know his actual speed.  40 times are going to be an obsolete measurement sooner rather than later.

Split-wide, Pitts to me is the spitting image of Plaxico Burress. A tad taller and faster maybe and seemingly not that kind of head case.

I think I prefer Chase. I can't get over his utter domination of the SEC at 19. There was a wide receiver study last year showing that dominating at a young age (especially in the top CFB conferences) is an extremely strong predictor of NFL performance. And I just like Chase's whole play demeanor -- always out there flexing on dudes and barking at people. Fiery! 😀 Oddly seems like a more physical player to me than Pitts considering their listed positions.

Smith is extremely tough , with very good hands , play speed and  quicks .

Some of the catches he makes are incredible , and he does it often

I think he already has.  Keep in mind.  He said he was 170.  He didn't weigh in.  He is letting his season do the talking and not taking part in any drills.  To me that's a huge red flag.  I'm not taking a 170 lb (if that) WR with no other measurables to go by in the top 15 let alone top 10.

The argument that DJack was 170 or Marvin Harrison was 180 doesn't mean a thing when those guys were absolute burners who put their speed to the test in the 40.

We are in agreement.  That’s basically my feelings on Pitts as well.  I haven’t been paying attention to your past posts on Pitts so it looked like you were saying you didn’t understand why fans didn’t want Pitts for the Eagles.

No where near the speed? Does everyone think Devonta just gets lucky toasting every single DB week in and week out for 200-300 yards a game if he had to by just better positioning or something and luck?

The Devonta Smith naysayers are getting out of control. That guy is the love child of DeAndre Hopkins and DeSean Jackson

His cap number this year was $14 mil (8 base and 6 bonus).

I’m sure we can’t afford what he wants and still have room for Flacco and draft picks. He’s also 28 and probably looking for a long term contract.

Here is a iol I am a fan of , probably a center in the nfl , he nailed it

IOL Kendrick Green, Illinois (6-foot-2, 305)

4.85s 40-yard dash (99th percentile)

2.18s 20-yard split (97th)

1.69 10-yard split (97th)

36” vertical (99th)

9’11” broad (100th)

incredible
