I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I mean I'm sure they may have taken it to the next level but I agree, even if you're being sarcastic.  Yes, there are extreme cases of hazing but there is also a comradery and bonding that comes with it.  I remember my sophomore year, 1997 first we went away to summer camp.  The whole team.  Every night there were initiations, nothing bad but things that once it happened to you, you weren't allowed to discuss it with the other sophomores.  It created a suspense and semi-fear but we also knew our buddies who got it were just fine.  Then the last night after the last guy got it we celebrated as a team and we were welcomed, no longer the sophomores but part of the team.

Then all through 2adays, which at that time were still 3adays.  Every sophomore was assigned to a senior.  We were called their senior slave...stupid high school stuff but whatever.  All it really meant was we carried their pads the long hike up from the bottom field to the locker room, went out over lunch to get their meals.  Again, stupid stuff.  The last day of camp we were required to all give our senior a piggy back ride which really was almost a 5-minute walk.

That was our hazing.  It helped us become a team.  The senior player we were assigned in most cases became like big brothers.  They took us to parties, introduced us to the older cheerleaders and such.

There were always jokes about ookie cookies and things like that but it never happened.  IMO, just old fashioned hazing to become part of a team.

That would be a surprise...

The Flyers are maddening.

I actively dislike the Joe Flacco signing. I don't like the process. I don't like the money. I don't like doing it now.

At the same time, Flacco was not "bad" last year. He was better than Sam Darnold last year with a worse offensive roster than what we have. If this team signed Flacco to this money last year and just drafted Chinn instead of Hurts, we'd be so much better off.

So then Wentz starts the entire season, we go 3-11-1 ( so drafting at 4 ), have $15 mil more in cap space ( ??? guess on my part ).

1) is DP still fired ?

2) are we drafting a QB somewhere in the 1st ?

You have to wonder if someone doesn't get fired soon.  It's not like they are losing tight games.  They are getting the doors blown off every other game.

I posted similar yesterday.  They have McLaurin and his speed, Humphries mans the slot and now Samuel can move all over the formation finding the mismatch.  Then you have Logan Thomas another year better at tight end who linebackers can't keep up with.

I really think they go Najee Harris in round 2.

Someone said that the NFCE looks better because the Eagles look so bad but I don't know...the Giants and Skins are making very smart moves and continue to draft well.  Rivera is a very solid HC and Judge is without a doubt and up and comer.  The Eagles have a huge hole to climb out of and so much to prove.  We just have so little to work with.

Man, Harris on that team really puts the offense on another level. But Gibson is pretty good, I don't think they really need to use a high pick on Harris. Stick to the o-line and more defense. They can get a complimentary type back in rounds 3 or 4 I think.

I totally agree with you. The giants and team have better players who are in their prime. Our cupboard is very bare. It's pretty bad. I see us easily in third, mostly likely fourth place for the next few years. And that's counting on Howie/Lurie nailing multiple picks multiple years in a row.

Team leadership needs an overhaul.  Been saying it for two years.  But people blow Giroux because has been in Philly forever as the captain (and accomplished nothing).

Rangers have outscored the Flyers in the last 5 periods 15-1

They need to start trading guys who have been here through three other coaches and now a fourth that have had this problem. At some point in time coaching changes is not gonna fix anything if it’s the players you’re building your core around. To me this is a players problem. They might not be Stanley Cup contenders but they should not be this god awful. I don’t think AV has forgotten how to coach hockey in 12 months

Meh.  Don’t care until the whole thing is blown up.  Complete disgrace.

The thing that irritates me the most with the flyers is they were willing to blow it up with Jeff Carter and Mike Richards but now they just don’t want to. At some point in time you have to do what you have to do.

Well at least they didn't trade for a DL and move him to OL😄

Ron Solt wasn't bad but yeah he wasn't enough  to fix the rest of that O line.

So disappointing as the skins had the Hogs and Dallas had one of the best O lines in recent memory and the giants had some mashers and the eagles are trotting out trash at O line, not sure how a team can be so good at finding DL and totally blow at building an OL.

Try again.  Ron Solt was a steroid inflated OG, who became a below average OG once steroids were banned... right after the Eagles made that trade.

The hardest thing to do in the nfl is build a strong and consistent O & D line.

everyone talks about it but how many teams actually achieve it?

Telling another guy on his team he was going to make him his B is "simulated assault"??  Where do people come up with this *****?

The "simulated assault” came from him allegedly pulling out his D and pretending to put it in his ass as well as pulling out his D and pretending to climax on his face

You need to read the article. I personally don’t think what I read reaches assault status, but it was kind of sick.

Although, one incident wouldn’t bother me. I’d be concerned there might be more.

Pass. I really don't give a crap. Anything that includes "virtual sexual assault" between two guys sounds like a bunch of BS from people with too much time on their hands. Reggie and Brown flipped over a porta potty with Buddy inside it. Guys are a-holes on teams. It happens.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No one is entitled to their own facts. If you’re going to comment, then you really should read about what happened. What you’re saying and what has been reported aren’t very close. The other guy was prepared to stab him.

I don’t care how bad the defense is.  Hart is not the long term answer goal.

He’s very talented and still very young.  He needs a new goalie coach to fix his mechanics; I don’t watch a lot but from what I’ve seen he gets too low in his crouch and gives up too much up high.  He’s also prone to lapses in concentration

Read it. Virtual sexual assault still sounds like a BS name. Call it attempted or hazing. Yeah, it was sick.

Johnathan Martin didn't have the mentality that it takes to play offensive line in the NFL.  Proof by how quickly he was out while Richie Incognito, despite being completely batshit insane, is still in it.

That is why I have no faith in Andre Dillard.  Reports suggest that he has a Jonathan Martin mentality for an offensive lineman.
