Is this sarcasm? I just don't see how you could get that out of anything Flacco has said.  He was signed as a back up.  Everyone on the team including Flacco knows he's a back up.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Anybody good w comp picks have any idea how were looking for 2022?

His deal is actually 2.75 base not 4.5.

No guaranteed money

That's going to end up being 3.35m, unless he returns from extended injury for one playoff game, brings in a deep strike, and that somehow converts the playoff incentives.

I mean missing on Kevin Allen was terrible but one in a series of picks.  In 83 they drafted Haddix who never developed into even a decent player.

Yup. Drafting a rapist never looks good on a resume...

As for Haddix, yup right up there with a long list if bad picks.

I think a pick that doesn't get scrutinized enough is Keith Byars.

He was drafted number 10 over all, he had suffered a leg injury in college but buddy thought he was recovered fine turns out the eagles spent the number 10 pick on a receiving FB who was useless as a RB.

As most eagles fans do I love Keith Byars and when I they spent the 10th over all pick I think they were envisioning more than a receiving FB.

Coincidentally former eagle OL Mike Schad who sucked went in the first round to the Rams at 21?

A few articles had stated that the Flacco signing puts the Eagles neutral for 2022, so no comp picks.

Interested to see how WR Zach Milne and TE matt bushman do.

Bushman was a mackey finalist last year or the year before then went through a couple Injuries.

If he can show he's recovered he along with Milne might be worth late round looks.

Correct, but this isn't an experienced QB.  This is a washed up QB.  And we are paying more than twice what he got last year.

His "washed upedness" will help our young qb

Doesnt Matter. We're moving up to #2 for Kyle Pitts. BEST TIGHT END EVER!

Lol yeah I forgot.

Some of these 40s that are coming out of pro days are laughable, I think a lot of people should be stripped of their stop watch privileges.

I mean I get pro day numbers are normally inflated but it's getting ridiculous.

If Deion Sanders ran his 40 today I'm sure it would be sub 4.0🤔

Overthecap shows that Anthony Harris cancelled out the pick from Mills. However the Flacco signing will likely cancel the next player out, assuming there is someone who signs with another team.

I don't think anyone thought Byars was a reach at the time.  I mean the big difference between him and Haddix is 1) who else was drafted in 83, 2) Haddix never beat the Giants.  Byars is one of those players too that may have been much better if he was in a better offense.  I think if he had been in a West Coast system where he was receiving target.  He didn't work out to be a good RB but part of that was also the o-line he played behind.  Of course, he always ran so upright and seemed to have very tight hips.

How ‘bout an all TE draft and then we can convert them all to other positions...WR, LT, CB...

He doesn’t love ball, he’ll be traded any minute now if it’s up to Sirianni

No indication that now that it is his profession that Dillard doesn’t "love ball”.  Lots of teenagers out there that thought about turning away from football or other avocations (guitar, piano, writing, basketball, camping, fishing, hunting, etc.) because they were discouraged, hit a wall, liked a girl, wanted to hang out after school, etc. Eagles know his attitude, what effort he is putting into his rehab, how well he takes teaching from Stout, how he corrects little things.   Last year, he came to camp stronger, which was a must.  This year he is rehabbing a muscle tear so he is going to have to build some of that strength back.  Now, JP played through a muscle tear and they decided to fix it and rest Dillard for the year.  But muscle tears are not all equal.
Last year, at camp, we saw a stronger Dillard.  We saw a fitter Herbig.  We saw a Pryor who did nothing towards getting in shape.  This year, Dillard needs to be at least back.  He needs to work the rust off.  Now at camp, he tried to soldier through the tear but couldn’t. Most cannot and that is usually a season ending injury.   But this year, the slate is clean.   We also need to see Mailata continue to strengthen his back.  We need to see Herbig take the next step.  Leaner and stronger. We need to see Driscoll get stronger.  He has the mental but needs to push the physical.  Juriga needs an NFL body too.   Pryor is probably on his last gasp.   Needs to get his weight under control.  I doubt he makes it because of the strength of this draft. Toth is on his last chance.  It needs to click or he needs to pursue his post NFL career.  Same with Piersbacher.  Not at Alabama any longer.   Like Toth, Eagles aren’t his only team.  Make or break camp for Opeta.  Not sure what the PS rules will be this year.  Frankly, I hope they keep last year’s rules.  Provided depth with the limited aged out vets but also some nice developmental opportunities. Absent a developmental league, there is real value to that approach.

That should supplant the Flacco signing and restore the Mills comp pick.

Yep.  I doubt we get any 2022 comp picks.  Currently the 32nd comp pick is Dan Arnold, his deal averages 3 million per years.  So the next Eagle to sign elsewhere is cancelled out by Flacco, then the next guy needs a contract averaging more than 3 million per year, not gonna happen.

There is also FA's still out there that will get big deals, so that will push the lower guys out of the 32, and make the bottom deal worth more.  Still have Clowney, Kawann Short, Brian Poole, Steve Nelson, Alejandro Villanueava, Malik Hooker, Quinton Dunbar, Charis Carson, Mitchell Schwartz and some others.  All these guys will get deals higher than any current Eagle free agent.

Nope.  He did not leave as a free agent, he was released.  You do not get a comp pick for a player you release.

The Eagles should definitely be drafting OL with one of their first 4 picks.  There's a lot of decent IOL prospects that will be available in the 2nd.  I mean Creed Humphrey, Landon Dickerson and Josh Myers would all be possibilities.

Yeah he was a straight line runner, zero wiggle, and any wiggle he did have he lost it with the keg Injury in college.

I mean as a receiving FB he was one of the best and you are right the O line totally sucked not to mention back then RB was valued more than today, the first pick in that draft was Bo Jackson, the last pick of the first round was RB neal Anderson to the Bears.

Like I said I like Keith Byars I just don't like the thought of spending a top ten pick on a FB but then again 1986 was a different era.

Tweet I seen

I think it doesn't count because the Eagles released Desean.

They have to go BPA.   While I want secondary help because of the lack of players there, whatever the BPA is should be the pick.  If the Eagles make a pick at 6 and it is a QB because that is the BPA, that is what they should grab.  If it is Chase, that is who they should grab.  Now part of the BPA formula is going to be team need.  But Howie does not have the luxury of a Davion Taylor pick in the first two days this year and he cannot continue the Jones, JJAW legacy of the second pick. There are a number of Day 2 options I like at IOL.
