I don’t think they’re piling up picks to draft players. I think they’re on the verge of a splash trade.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

No way. Back surgery. Team should be removed from the league if they take him at 12.

As a Michigan fan, very underwhelming

Now we have 3 1sts. Watson?

A team that is horrible at drafting passed up a chance to take a surefire stud for more "chances." Look back at the Eagles track record in trading down and see how well that's worked out.

This is what happens when you try and rush a rebuild. Instead of building slowly and methodically, you rush it and try to fill as many holes as possible. This is what an insecure GM does who worries that if they string together a few bad seasons they might be on the hot seat instead of doing what's best for the team.

And next year's QB class isn't nearly as good, at least it isn't projected to be. So naturally, Howie will blow his draft pick stockpile next season to trade up for a QB, who in this class would've been like the 5th best guy.

I just can't do it anymore. Nothing but stress and frustration. Enjoy your summer fellas and stay safe.

Trading for future picks is the exact opposite of rushing to build the team.  I think they could still trade back up depending on who is available at 7 and they have capital to do it.   I also think when it looks like the top 4 picks are going to be QB, then there's a good chance a top 10 talent falls to pick 12.

Horn?

Eagles fans: the roster is bad
Eagles management: trades back to get more picks to solve the roster being bad
Eagles fans: not like that

Then I have to think Surtain, or maybe Waddle if he drops.

\LOL at all the idiots on here who really thought 1) Hurts was going to be  a starter. 2) thinks hes actually good enough to be a starter.

He’s the odds on favorite to be the starter this year. Long term not looking as good as they were trying for Wilson

Watson or Wilson are now viable options in 2022.

I don’t see surtain falling past dallas tbh

Miami

So doesn't that mean we pick at 18 and not 12?

This year's draft is a numbers game, with the COVID madness, a lot of good players will drop and a lot of high picks will turn out to be mistakes.

Next year we get 3 1st rd picks (cross fingers) in a draft with a full college season and scouts having full access.

And we move up from the 5th to the 4th round.

There should be a good player available at 12, and Howie can take a CB or LB without it being a reach, while there will be lots of WRs available in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

12 this year

2022 is Miami's pick, not SF

Eagles tried to trade up for a QB and failed. They now have 2 1st rounders (likely 3) next year. Do the math.

Only holdup is cap space. They have the ammo now for Watson.

Eagles roster lacks elite talent

Eagles finally in position to add an elite player with pick 6

Eagles trade out of pick 6 a month before the draft is here

Eagles picking after rival teams Dallas and NYG allowing them to have first dibs at BPA.

They gained 1 pick, and that’s next year.

Watson would have to want to come here in with NTC. With everything going on with him who knows. Wilson they love so i could see it. However as much as i love Wilson he’s also 33 in 2022. I’m fine doing it but it is definitely a risk factor of how long he intends to play with his wife being Ciara and how much longer are you getting elite russell Wilson

Could be.

I think it’s just optionality. It gives you the option to make a splash trade. It gives you the option to load up on talent if Hurts plays really well. It gives you the option to trade up next year for a QB. It gives you the option to keep flipping picks every year to essentially create draft dividends.

The key here is that the Eagles can now make any move they want. The can even trade back up into the top 5 this year.

Would be the dumbest move they could possibly make.

In theory, I don't have an issue with this. 2021 was always going to be a dead year for them even if they stayed at six, so you might as well already be thinking about the 2022 offseason. My issue is that I don't trust Roseman's competency to hit on any of these picks. But it was the correct move to do.

Howie! That’s why we used to love you!

There was no elite talent at 6.

Russell Wilson will be 33 next year.  Watson is facing 24  is it sexual assault claims.

Pass on both for me.
