Farley had back surgery.   While I would like him he is off my board.  No injured picks

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Lol apparently you can't rant on here

Last year I was saying I was going to stop watching too but I'm too curious about what Nick does

There's also a few players like Mailata, Goedert, Dillard, Reagor, and whoever the 12th pick is that I'm excited and hoping they make a big leap

Hoping Sanders can stay healthy and not get exhausted. I'd like to get a RB that can pair with him and have both on the field

I'll also be happy to just not see the CBs give 10yd cushions

I’m excited for:

-New schemes on O, D and ST

-Hurts getting an offseason and (for the most part) knowing he’s the man going into the season

-Our starting oline back in place, and who wins the starting LT job...Dillard or Mailata?

-11 picks in the draft

-Seeing if scheme and coaching staff were not putting guys in positions to succeed. See: Reagor, JJAW, Hightower, Fulgham, Wallace, Maddox, etc.  This is a make or break year for a lot of guys.

-Can Alex Singleton continue his success?

-Barnett is on a contract year...does he play up to his draft position?

-Can Sweat become a feared 3rd down specialist?

-Cheering against MIA

-Cheering for Carson to stay healthy but the Colts to suck

-Etc

There are just so many things to be excited for and to watch.  I’m going into this season saying 7-9 wins is pie in the sky, and expecting 4-6. This is the start of the rebuild

This post made me less excited for the 2021 football season if those are the things we have to be excited for.  Sorry, being honest.

I don’t care. Sorry, being honest.

That's my number 1 thing. Doug and his staff were absolute trash at developing young players. We don't know nearly enough about way too many of these guys, one of whom has been on the team for 4 years (Barnett).

Not sure why folks are expecting 4-6 wins when the team completely fell out last year and had to throw a game to only have 4 wins. You must be pessimistic about Sirianni.

That’s how I see it. Don’t trade two 1s for a rookie unless that player is a QB. Too much risk, even for "can’t miss” prospects at other premium positions like pass rusher and tackle.

I expect sadly a similar rash of injuries again this year to our aging Oline. I also think our D is going to take a year or two to improve. I think we’ll score points and lose shootouts. We don’t have currently any game changers on D other than Cox, and even he is on the decline.

I’d like to see in the draft:

2 outside CB’s (I think Maddox is ok in the slot)

a true RB2. I like Scott but he’s a 3rd down guy.

a LB on day 2

a S on day 2 or with pick 123

a developmental 3rd QB like Mond, Newman, Ehlinger, Buechele

a solid prospect at X WR

some youth at Edge

Something like:

R1 Surtain/Horn

R2 Jabril Cox

R3A Andre Cisco

R3B Javonte Williams

R4 Nico Collins

would be a great start.

Just ran this sim and love this draft:

I'm trying to think of guys I would even consider using 2 firsts on in the past that weren't QBs. Megatron I probably would have thought about because he was truly the complete package in every way. Zero flaws on or off the field. But even then I probably wouldn't have done it because he played WR.

DEs are way too risky. Hard pass regardless of how good they look on paper.

Maybe if there were the Megatron version of an OT I'd do it. Say, a 20 year old who was 2X All-American, 6'6" 340ish, super athletic, impeccable technique, dominant in all aspects, and a choir boy off the field with a mean streak on it. That kind of unicorn. Then I'd probably do it because you're getting as close to a guarantee as possible between positional value, positional translation to the NFL, rookie contract helping your cap space, etc. Funny enough, had Mailata grown up in the US, he might have had a chance to be that guy.

I wouldn’t classify the continued development of a qb the rest of the nfl deemed undevelopable and the return to health of an OL that won’t stay healthy as things to look forward to for the 2021 season.

I wouldn’t say never.  But unless Pitts runs a 4.31 with great agility drills next week, that player isn’t in this draft.

Not looking forward to JJAW still being on the team

With the Eagles...year 2 for Reagor/Watkins and a season where Mailata goes in with a starter mentality.

And the possibility of unloading vets at the mid season trade deadline.

Could we trade down in the second and still get cox?

Haven’t seen the 31 interviews with coaches/GMs stating that Hurts is "undevelopable.” Now that could be because that isn’t a real word, or because you are full of ish.

I think Cox goes between 40-50 so conceivably, yes. I think he immediately impacts the defense. IMO the best cover LB in the draft.

He already ran a 4.46

Give me trey sermon and tamerion terry somewhere in here and we're good.

Add .1 to .15 to any pro day time. That's about what they would run at the Combine.

Khalil Herbert could easily be Sermon or Rhamondre Stephenson.

I think Nico is a better prospect than Terry but they won’t have to invest as high a pick on Terry.

Understood. But that’s all we have to go on this year. Of course the year where I’m home working 2-3 days a week and no combine to watch. Lol

Im sorry I understand he is a solid player and a really great guy. His pressure generating ability is borderline elite, but he took a long time to develop and I have other positions I would rather address in the first round this year. Better options are available and BG has never been a blue chip guy.

Ironic that your avatar is a DE of equal or lesser status. I’m not hating on you man I just think if you asked 32 teams if they’d take BGs career in the first round, 32 teams take him.

:offtopic:  UH puts away Syracuse and will face Oregon State in the elite eight. If they play D like they did tonight a final four is possible.

Ehh, 4.31 is faster than Megatron who ran a 4.35.

Id say any 4.3 or very low 4.4 coupled with a great agility and VJ would put him into the unicorn realm. The problem that I see is even if he does all of that, you’re still wondering if he’s a TE or if he can play out wide on a permanent basis? That alone disqualifies using 2 firsts on him IMO.

A small trade up from 12 to 9 or something like that? I could maybe see that. But no way am I making a godfather offer for a player without a defined high value position — and I don’t really consider WR a tier 1 position anyway.
