I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Except that's a game we want to lose.  The better the Jets record in the AFCE the better our Miami 1st round pick could be.

Here we go... March and we already got EMB GMs talking about intentionally losing games.

Oh relax, have some fun and consider different scenarios.  Sorry,  the Eagles could potentially be sitting at 7-9 and winning that 8th game will boost moral going in to 2022.

There are 3 things for certain we want next year.

-Carson Wentz to play more than 75% of the snaps

-The Colts to suck

-The Dolphins to suck.

You have to play to win , if you lose because you aren’t good enough , oh well , but to play to lose ,  nothing good comes from it , losing breeds losing and a bad culture that is hard to shake .

I have fun winning. Season hasn’t started yet let’s ease up on intentionally losing games and focus on what it’ll take to get Big D!ck Nick back.

Until late in the year when it’s clear you suck. Lose and reap the benefits.

Of course, for the team.  But here on a message board none of that applies.

Eagles have never lost to the Jets before.  I don't want to see them lose to them.

OK gentleman let me clarify. WINNING is the goal here, there's no denying that.  A winning culture is also important there's no question about it.  I want the Eagles to be Super Bowl Champions.

How about this train of thought though.

IF the Eagles LOSE to the Bengals, we would have had the #3 pick in the 2021 draft.  The # 3 pick that just landed the Dolphins # 12 a 2022 1st and 3rd,  and a 2023 1st.

The Eagles ended up tying that game as we all know and ended up with pick 6 and we know the rest.

Would you rather have a 2021 1st, a 2022 1st and 3rd and a 2023 1st

-or-

a 2021 1st and 4th plus a 2022 1st?

This is an Eagles fan message board.  We are here to discuss the team, talk about what we like, don't like and scenarios we all think about.  No one here wants to lose.  Some of you make it sound like a bunch of us are out here saying man I hope the Eagles suck next year, I hope they lose which couldn't be further from the truth.

I want Jalen Hurts to prove that he can be a successful and top quarterback in the NFL.

I want Reagor, Fulgham, Ward, Hightower and Watkins to become a legit NFL WR group.

I want the O-Line to dominate.  That means healthy veterans and young guys continually improving.

I want Miles Sanders to prove he deserves a new contract here.

I want Derek Barnett to take that next step and become an above average to very good DE.

I want Davion Taylor, K'Vonn Wallace and Shaun Bradley to prove they were worthwhile draft picks.

Most importantly I want the Eagles to win a Super Bowl.  However, I realize that out of all of those wants the chances of all or any of it happening is very slim.  It could be a very ugly season.

In the meantime, discussing every kind of scenario that could play out is what gets us through the offseason.

What if the Dolphins are a trainwreck?  What if they are heading into week 17 fighting with the Jets not only to see who finishes last in the AFCE but also who gets the first pick in the draft?  A Jets loss puts them in last play securing pick 1 for them but a Jets win solidifies pick 1 for the Dolphins.  You're telling me you still are going in to week 17 100% committed to a win when a loss would guarantee the Eagles the 1st pick in the draft?  Again, let me rephrase for all of you.  I don't want the Eagles to lose, it's a month from the draft, we just signed Joe Flacco and I'm just playing with different situations in my mind.

Did they just take the 4th preseason game and make it a regular one or that just a coincidence?

Coincidence. They decided it would be NFC vs AFC, then chose the matchups from 2 years ago, then decided the 2020 standings determined who would play who.

So Eagles played AFC East 2 years ago, Eagles were 4th in 2020 and Jets were 4th in 2020 so there you go.

1.  The Bengals game was Week 3 of the season; it’s cherry picking to go back that early and say it screwed our draft position.  The Saints game had a much more immediate impact.  Winning that game and costing the Saints home field through the playoffs didn’t bother me one bit.

2.  Even if the Eagles had the #3 overall pick it’s much more likely they’d have traded up to #2 because it would have meant they went 0-4 down the stretch with Hurts, and even more people at NovaCare would be saying "holy ish — we need a QB”

Eagles have enough trouble staying healthy for 16 games. This should be fun lol

There is a group on these boards that are actively rooting for the Eagles to fail spectacularly because they believe that will get Roseman fired which is the only way for the Eagles to win. Can you say oxymoron?

Breaking News: Zags are good

Nah, there are some people who dislike Roseman on grounds that have nothing to do with his performance, so they'll root for the Eagles to fail so he'll be fired - of course, if he does his job well, the Eagles will be better than expected and might be enjoyable to watch.

I ignore that crap, whether media or fans. I figure Howie's got a solid track record when it comes to rebuilding/reloading. Even the draft analyses show he's an average drafter (just lacked draft picks after 2016), fact is, there's little evidence of superior drafters, you can always pick a couple years when a team hit if you ignore the other years. What Howie does best is wheel and deal, looking for little edges (like getting the 5th converted into a 4th). He's dependent upon his staff, and I think that was a selling point of Sirianni, his roster of potential coaching hires.

Right now that's exactly what this team needs, lots of little moves that improve the asset base, and a coaching staff focused on player development. We're not going to rebuild just on 1st rd picks, it'll take finding the Celeks and Kelces. Diss UDFAs, but both McLeod and Harris went undrafted.

2023?  Worry about that when we get there.

Howie’s drafts have become a national punchline,  but let’s call him an average drafter.
