I'm not a huge fan of Doug's but I'd shine his shoes if he actually did that.

I'm not either, but if Doug wants to leave there gangsta style that would the thing to say.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

If Lurie is going to start changing into a meddlesome owner and retain Howie for a long time, many of those factors won't matter to a reputable coach who has options.

I don’t think Lurie meddles anywhere as much as people think ... Howie I totally agree with you on. It could/would make people rethink.

But, who wants to go to Jacksonville? There’s more people on this message board than at their games on Sunday’s.

The only way Lurie considers moving past Pederson is if he has been holding his own meetings with consultants and already has a plan...I doubt he is waiting for Pederson's plan. If there is someone out there he is sold on, he will make the move...the reality for him may be he has to wait another year for the right person, and then he will be rolling with a contingency plan.

It would be funny if Lurie asked Doug "what is the plan going forward?" and if Doug responded" the plan is for Howie to draft me top tier talent and not draft backup QBs in the second round".

Hurts was a Doug pick

As much as I like to put most blame on Howie...come on...it's pretty obvious by now that Doug isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.  He's not an offensive mind like AR, Mcvay or an overall diabolical schemer like Belichick.

Granted, this is football, not rocket science.  The terms genius and innovative are overused.  None of these guys are actually that.  But even still...Doug isn't the kind of guy with a meticulous vision/blueprint with the horsepower between the ears to relentlessly and reliably see it through.

Jalen Hurts is a better passer than Lamar Jackson.

I disagree. I think that was a Howie pick. If Hurts was a Doug pick, Hurts would've been put in there much sooner. I think Doug was giving Carson every chance to fix it and I wouldn't be surprised if Lurie told Doug "enough is enough".

Truth is, it's a tough call because we don't know a lot behind the scenes. For one, I'm taking a night or two to think it over, and I plan to have a private call with Doug, and Andy to get a better idea of what to expect behind the scenes regarding Howie, and how much more involved, if at all, Lurie has become. If my coaching staff really is dictated to me, and I'm going to be told who is active on game day, then I just may tough it out on Jacksonville or Detroit, or remain where I was until something better comes.

I can't look at this with green colored glasses.

You set a high bar there.

Not by much, maybe by a smidge :)

Baltimore pushing the pass now.  2 back to back 0 air yard passes... lol

In 2 head coaching searches, Eagles were turned down by Chip Kelly (yes they eventually convinced him but he said no thanks at first), Tom Coughlin, Ben McAdoo Kevin Sumlin, Adam Gase and probably more. In hindsight, none of those names were big misses and there were different circumstances each time. But maybe that report from 2016 that no one wants to work with Howie has some legs to it.

Isn’t the cash spending a byproduct of our kicking the can and turning salary into guarantees?

Yup. It just means they gave a lot of money up front

Debatable.  What's not debatable is that Lamar Jackson is a better runner than Jalen Hurts.  And since that's all either is particularly good for, advantage Lamar.

Howie should be canned just for what he’s done with the Cap. Never mind his horridness drafting.

In all fairness the ones in bold were never offered the job, they only came in for interviews. Coughlin was the only coach offered the job before Doug in 2016 and he took the job then changed his mind and backed out.

Agreed on all counts.

Watching the Ravens offense is like watching college football.   I wonder when they draft another runner to backup Jackson, because he won't be effective at this for more than about another 2, maybe 3 years.   They are going to need to find a succession plan.

Of course no one wanted to work with Howie in 2016.

Chip was a jerk and deserved to be fired.  But his W/L here was actually pretty good.  He and Howie obviously went at it.  Howie and AR had their issues too.

2 HC's survived by one GM with a bad drafting history and no football background who was now returning as GM after being banished.  What HC wants to have his strings pulled under those circumstances?

Now the number just grows to 3.

I hear Jalen Hurts might be available.

So how far do you want to trade back to select Wyatt Davis?  If Kelce returns you’re looking at another first round draft pick that would sit on the bench behind Brooks and Seumalo — unless you prefer Seumalo becomes a backup.

15

11 completions 109 yards, 11 rushes for 91 yards.

It's pretty ironic how Wentz Washers are gloating in this thread about how bad Lamar Jackson is. 👌

This is like watching a game out of 1990.  We have one team built around a running back in the Titans.  Then we have another team built around a running back in the Ravens.

There is a report Ben McAdoo was on the turn pike coming to Nova Care to sign a contract and Giants convinced him to turn around. It’s also reported they offered Sumlin the HC job but he chose to stay in college.

Just remembered Brian Kelly turned down the Eagles too
