I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

What kind of odds do folks give on both Hightower and Quez Watkins being on the 53-man roster going into Week 1.  I’d have to think one will end up on the Practice Squad to start the season — depending of course what happens at the draft.

Low >25%

If I had to guess today, Watkins makes the 53 and Hightower goes to the PS. Hightower had quite a few drops and looked to struggle tracking deep balls. Just see more potential with Watkins.

Eagles probably add a WR somewhere around RD 3. My hope is Dyami Brown or Tylan Wallace are there at pick 70.

So the first 3 picks are a lock then. Lawrence, Wilson, Jones. Draft begins at #4.

I said he wasn't a good fit with that offense.  And he is not a good comparison to Matt Ryan.

Send me the money now.  I'll use it to buy booze.

Orlovsky agrees with me but believe what you want

I’ll Venmo you $20 but you owe me $40 when Foles comes back...

I'd add Andrews to that list.  Became the best OG in the league for a couple of seasons before he went sideways.

Yup Andrews was a legit beast who could play OT or OG and dominate, sad that he went as you say sideways.

Graham Avery Barnett Ostman Sweat Leo and that’s just losing Curry last week

Avery is a LB now.  Leo is less than a JAG, he's a 28 year old on a foreign exchange program.  I love Ostman but he's not going to contribute.

BG and Barnett are your starters.  Sweat is your back up.

We have no DE depth and no young DE in the pipeline to take over for BG when he's done.

DE is a need.

That history should make someone wonder why we have been drafting so many linemen top 15.  Cox and Lane were exceptional, rare athletes who earned that status.  The rest really didn't provide value in that rnage.

Didnt provide value? Are you expecting every first round pick to be a HOF?

Most of these guys were/are long time starters in the league, made pro bowl, and contributed significantly to post season success.

So Graham whos getting older and has never reached double digit sacks

Avery who's transitioning to LB. Also, lol.

Barnett who could very well be gone after this season and is solid at best.

Ostman...lol

Sweat who's a nice rotational player and a good talent, but the jury is still out and he's likely never going to be a starter given his leg.

Some "depth" we have there.

Ostman still has yet to return from the shadow realm after Nick Chubb sent him there.image.gif.686389790dbbcc391f820037570c5d8c.gif

Bodies don't = depth

Seems a scenario exists where Fields is 5th QB taken. Would have been shocking to say that 6 months ago.

Looking to the mid rounds for DE depth. Daelin Hayes and Elerson Smith are two guys to watch. Quick edge rushers with starter potential down the road.

Both should be there in RDs 4-5.

Depends on what the roster looks like in September.

I can't imagine JJAW jumps hightower or watkins on the depth chart.

Most teams carry 5-6 WRs on occasion 7

If reagor fulgham watkins hightower ward all make the roster that leaves 1 spot for rookie or FA WR.

I think the only safe guy out of that group is reagor as Howie isn't going to give up on reagor, and sure JJAW was supposedly Luries pick but at some point he has too see what JJAW us which to me is a less talented higher drafted more expensive Hank Baskett.

Man twitter is something else.  While looking through tweets about some of the Alabama prospect interviews, I noticed that Hue Jackson was trending...so out of curiosity I clicked to see what was going on.  Apparently he's talking about a secret extension or something like that.  Some of the tweets though....

To be fair I said he's essentially an athletic Jalen Hurts months ago and got blasted for it by people claiming he's easily the second QB off the board.

There is a map:

1. Lawrence  2.  Wilson  3.  Jones/Lance/Fields  4.  Parsons  5.  Sewell  6.  Waddle  7.  Smith  8.  Lance/Jones/Fields  9.  Lance/Jones/Fields  10.  Surtain  11.  Paye/Rousseau

Basically, it requires 5 QB in the top 9 picks as is speculated currently, Parsons as best defensive prospect going top 10 (or even Slater), and neither the Turds or Giants grabbing him.  Turds don’t need another pass catcher, and Giants need OL/DE help.

Edit — that map would also leave Chase on the board (quite unlikely), but even better

Understood, but is there any sense that parsons/Sewell/waddle, etc would go ahead of Pitts? In other words is this a realistic possibility?

Pittsburgh. A 4th rounder.

No, I'm not making a Steelers joke.

Well, Sewell to CIN at #5 is a good bet if they don’t want their #1 overall pick Burrow killed, Parsons to ATL at #4 is smart if they ever want to have a defense, and Waddle to MIA at #6 to pair with Tua has been widely forecasted

So... All that in mind... None of that will happen as that's too logical and sensible.

I just can't buy the rumors about Chase to the Bengals until I see it for myself. That line is trash and Sewell is staring at you in the face.

Who is Mack Jones? ... ;)  it's Mac

It will be Mac, it's obvious at this point.

The going price is a 3rd according to the chatter.

Good chance the team will draft a WR pretty high, and 1-2 more in latter rounds.  That will provide a lot of competition to the WRs already on the roster.  Good bet that some of the names will get bumped off the roster.

I just don't see it. I know all the reports are now going that way but I would be shocked. He's not the third best QB in this draft, not by a long way.

OK so BG's extension means that he's an Eagle through 2022.

Barnett is here on a 1-year $10 million contract.

Josh Sweat is in the final year of his contract.

Joe Ostman will be on the PS until he's 31.

Matt Leo is a fun story when nothing else is going on but he's 28 and never taken an NFL snap.

I really like Josh Sweat but part of me holds my breath every snap he takes.  I've posted my feelings on Barnett.  He's a hair above JAG IMO.  There's a good chance neither are back in 2022.  My preference is locking Sweat in to a nice deal with the understanding he's a role player and not a starter.  Barnett can go find a deal somewhere else.

Not only do the Eagles need to add depth to DE, we need to add potential starters.  We have 1 DE on the roster who is guaranteed to be here after this year and he'll be 34 when 2022 comes around.

DE and DL in general is a sneaky big need.
