Nah, I'm blaming Howie.  Ultimately, the buck needs to stop with the GM.  If he doesn't have good people under him, that's his fault, because he hired them.  If the coaches and scouts aren't in agreement, that's his fault because he hired both, and didn't get the appropriate communication lines in place.  If the board is built wrong and he's just picking names off that board, that's his fault, because its his job to get better people in place to build the proper board.   And if the board is right, but he can't get the targets because they were gone before the Eagles could pick them... its his fault once more, because he has to have the big picture in mind and realize that the other 31 teams are playing this game too and its a zero sum game.  If they get the guy you wanted, you don't get them and no credit is added to your account for properly identifying a guy you never had a chance to select.  You need to move to plan B and get the next guy.  And you need to identify the next guy.  Seems they don't have the next guy identified very frequently.   Sorry, Howie... its not the fault of the board.  It's your fault.

If the eagles somehow mess this pick up i really don’t want to hear a year or two from now that teams in front of us selected who we wanted. Like that would be in this instances your own fault. You put yourself in that position. And i didn’t hate the trade but that’s a reality of that move that could happen.

It definitely won't be. They will keep it as mostly divisional games as they have the biggest impact for playoff/seeding.

It’d be interesting to see what happens if Justin Fields slides. I wouldn’t be totally shocked if the Eagles were interested in moving up a few spots (8-10 range) to snag him.

It's so strange that there are so many common sense changes/tweaks they could make to the schedule that they refuse to do.

I'm in the minority here and think he will be one of best QB's in the draft.   I think there is some OSU bias here (I can't stand them either) and think he will suck because Haskins sucks/sucked

We got the Jets.  The AFCE was mid 4-year cycle for us.  That way you don't play an AFC team in consecutive years.

The whole "don’t take this guy because he went to this school and played this position and everyone else has been a bust” is ridiculous. Can’t stand it. Oh let’s pass on Mahomes because Graham Harrell wasn’t any good...

There’s definitely merit in bumping up the draft grade of an OLineman because he went to Wisconsin or a DB that went to VT. But to not draft a guy because other players from the same school and position have been busts is ridiculous. Especially at QB.

No. The season starts September 9. The Super Bowl is a week later -- 2/13/22.

No, starts the same, Super Bowl was pushed back a week

 

Apparently part of the NFLs justification for the 17th game is the most injuries occur in pre-season and not the regular season. so changing is a good thing and "player safety" is at the core of this decision.
