I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Chase needed to dip under 4.4.  The pro days are such a farce that linemen are doing it.  With 1 year to train, it was essential for Chase to get in that range.

I really don't know that it is an issue for him because I don't think he was getting past the Dolphins.

For all these fake 40 times can't fake a vertical.

There have been a lot of impressive jumps from guys this cycle.

Chase is going at #6, just accept it now and pencil his name next to DK and JJ for the next 10 years

There were 13 players at the 2019 Combine that ran under a 4.4.  By my estimate, about 102 players have done it so far at their pro days.

They are doing them on trampolines

Nutrition has come so far since those early years of 2 years ago

We need to accept the fact that the Eagles are going to F up this draft.  I really have no faith that the right picks will be made.  Especially seeing how all of these guys are testing.  Howie is going to pick the steady guy who doesn't have a high ceiling.

Lol yup.😄

I wonder with the other tests like the vert  and broad jumps if with the extra time off players have been working on improving those jumps.

Seems more than a normal amount of guys are also jumping higher and  farther.

There have been some impressive jumps and I think players realize scouts use jumps to grade explosion scores but still theres a difference between explosive football movements and trained explosion in an athletic test.

This draft could be unique in how many busts it produces if teams go strictly off athletic tests, could be a lot of Mamulas in this draft.

RAS score is actually below average for everyone this season and the 40s are set up by NFL teams this time around. I think adding .03- .05 to each time is probably most accurate. .1 too high

I wonder how much emphasis scouts actually put into these pro days. You'd think with all the technology out there, the actual game film and numbers they get from that would hold infinitely more weight.

One would think with all the modern technology available to college facilities they would stop hand watch timing but then that would defeat the purpose of propping up ones own players.

Tricky. What with Covid the teams are flying half-blind.

It will be OK.  Howie will supplement his poor drafting again by hitting on a 7th rounder and a couple UDFA's.

I was thinking the same thing.  40 time is an overrated stat.

Larry Fitzgerald runs a 4.6 40.  Jerry Rice ran a 4.7 40.  They are fast as hell on the football field, though.

Yeah and he'll turn a 5th round pick in to a 6th and 3 7ths.  Genius at work.

Boy Chase is putting on an athletic freak show.  If he's still there at 6 I think heads are going to explode..and I'm a Pitts guy.

Probably too athletic which is why they traded out of 6. Can't be adding too many athletes to this team.

This is true.  That's why we are seeing defensive linemen run 4.3's and 4.4's with pedestrian verticals.  Usually, the true freak DL that dip close to that range with the 40's are also jumping through the roof.  Obviously, 2 different drills, 2 different traits...but one single test being so off the charts suggests it's just over-fudged.

Yup. With the combine the main point was to get all the players together in one place and get accurate height weight and medicals and then make them available for team interviews,

All the athletic tests were a dog and pony show.

Even the Qbs throwing is scripting against air and only do much can be gained.

Hopefully Howie and co stick to the tape and don't get enamored with some of these Inflated numbers.

There's a really cool twitter account called Eagles Over the Years.  This was a post today.  Sorry for the guys who don't like uniform talk but man this is perfect.  Their QB coach died that year correct?

Since flying half-blind is all our GM and scouts have ever known...advantage Eagles?

Given that the hit rates at that point in the draft are pretty much indistinguishable, I'll always prefer four spins of the roulette wheel over one but hey as long as we can make up jokes about Roseman so be it.

So I've also repeated the jerry rice 40 because I always believed it to be true, this suggests otherwise.

And yes I agree 40s are over rated

As complete BS as these 40's may be, I still say nothing tops the complete fabrication of Reagor's "4.28" from his pro-day.

By the way, I'm not listening to the oral argument but based on the snippets of Justice questions being posted, seems like the NCAA is getting CRUSHED today.
