There's a really cool twitter account called Eagles Over the Years.  This was a post today.  Sorry for the guys who don't like uniform talk but man this is perfect.  Their QB coach died that year correct?

Gotta love Waters face mask there as well. That's a lineman's face mask.

I had the same kind in high school as WR( I didn't play much) but the facemask came in handy when I was stock blocking as I'm sure it did when dirty waters was knee capping dudes.

One if my all time favorite eagles RIP

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

As complete BS as these 40's may be, I still say nothing tops the complete fabrication of Reagor's "4.28" from his pro-day.

Yup at no time during the season did I see  4.28 speed, even on his punt return td I don't think he was 4.28 speed.

Having said that Desean ran a 4.35 and on the field he looked like a 4.1 guy.

Pitts 4.44

By the way, I'm not listening to the oral argument but based on the snippets of Justice questions being posted, seems like the NCAA is getting CRUSHED today.

As they should

There are more good players than there are slots. We're getting a good player at 12. Relax everyone.

Honestly I'm not sure. I haven't been following the draft as closely as normal.

Strategically, I'm hoping for another trade down that yields another 2020 first. With COVID and all the sit outs, I believe this draft is going to be really funky. I also think it would be prudent to build draft capital so that we can make a move for a franchise QB next year if Hurts doesn't pan out. I'm willing to give him a chance this season, but to be honest, I'm not that high on him as a long term starter. I do hope he proves me wrong.

Is the 2022 draft even going to have any franchise QBs?

So I've also repeated the jerry rice 40 because I always believed it to be true, this suggests otherwise.

And yes I agree 40s are over rated

Interesting post, thanks for that!

I think the point still holds, though.  These guys played fast, but maybe their 40 times weren't great.  It points to the fact that running a fast 40 in your shorts is not as important as many think.

Allbright is one of the best at NFL mock drafts.
Right now he has Pitts to ATL and Chase to Cinci.

Given that the hit rates at that point in the draft are pretty much indistinguishable, I'll always prefer four spins of the roulette wheel over one but hey as long as we can make up jokes about Roseman so be it.

The entire draft is roulette with Howie.  It's like he's throwing darts blindfolded.

The Eagles traded pick 146 to the Cowboys last year. for pick 164 and a 5th this year.  The Cowboys drafted highly regarded center Tyler Biadasz (who started when healthy and would EASILY be the heir apparent to Kelce).

The Eagles then traded 164 for 173 and 227 and then traded them for 196, 200 and 233.

196 Shaun Bradley- back up ST LB

200 Quez Watkins #4 WR at best

233 Casey Toohill cut

Biadsaz was one of the top players on the board at pick 146, I remember the networks saying the Cowboys were targeting him.  So not only did the Eagles pass up on BPA at a position of need, they traded with their rivals to let them take him.

Future starting center or backup LB, backup WR and a DE they cut?

I like your logic but this is the Eagles and it's Howie Roseman.  Pitts, Waddle, Surtain, Sewell and Paye could be there and history tells us he most likely takes Paye.

Yup running in shorts is different that running in football not to mention itsnot often a football play goes 40 yards in a straight line without any one touching him.

40s are a tool to deny or confirm what one sees on tape.

If  a guy looks fast on tape then goes out and runs a 4.7 then one questions why, maybe he was hurt, or like jerry rice didn't know how to run 40 or maybe he's lazy and didn't train so one goes back and digs analyzes the discrepancy

For the most part though guys that look fast on tape run fast 40s and guys that look slow on tape run 4.8. and the 40 is an acceptable way of confirming the tape.

And yes as stated still over rated as some guys still play faster or slower than their times.

Replace the shorts 40 with a full sim.

Full pads.

A stand in cb to provide a single bump at the line.

Wr needs to take the bump and get 40 yards down field.

For DBs...

Full pads.

Start in a backwards position

Have a live wr come off the line and bump them

Turn and burn 40 yards down field.

No 40 times for linemen as that makes no sense.

And if the board had falls that way draft night, and we are still at 6, we could have had a kings ransom for that pick.  Watch the Dolphins get more for that pick than the Eagles did.

There’s usually a guy or two who rises, but even if there isn’t, you still have Wilson and Watson as trade targets or the ability to flip draft capital into 2023 while laying the foundation at OL, WR and defense.

Did Kyle Trask carry Pitts for those 40 yards?

I've been saying Pitts to Atlanta for awhile now.

The Dolphins are not trading down from 6. They want one of Waddle/Smith for Tua.

Trust me, if someone comes with the right offer when they are on the clock, why wouldn't they.    They could convince Carolina that the Pats are trading up for a QB, move down two spots and still get either one.  They could literally get whatever they want from Carolina in that scenario.

Ugh.  And he ran a 4.4

Some real athletic backers in this draft

The best thing for my sanity as an Eagles fan is for ATL to take Pitts and Cincy to take Chase.

We need to accept the fact that the Eagles are going to F up this draft.  I really have no faith that the right picks will be made.  Especially seeing how all of these guys are testing.  Howie is going to pick the steady guy who doesn't have a high ceiling.

Maybe you need to. I already knew this

And here's the thing, probably an overreaction on my part because the information is fresh in our minds but there are people who have been pounding the table for Chase or Pitts based off of their tape.  Both of them are out there testing off the charts and proving that they are the athletic freaks that were able to dominate in college.  It just sucks knowing that the Eagles once again have backed away from the possibility of having players of that athletic caliber on the team....and they were finally in position to do so.

How about Pitts to Dallas and Chase to NYG?
