You confuse want to groom into the slot with "someone has to do it."

I'd have JJAW competing in the slot too.

Ward is terrible.  Every single one of them has more upside.  He owns the slot and is our #1 WR because he stands in the right place and catches the football when someone forgets to cover him.

Oh the horse manure here.  Ward was the number one receiver because he catches the ball and runs precise routes and was the targeted receiver.  Carson seemed most comfortable with shorter routes but his rate of targets did not decrease with Hurts.  He can be improved upon and should be with the slots available this year.  But he is the best hands catcher of the WRs and TEs on this team.  He does not just stand in the right place and only catch balls when someone forgets to cover him.

I sometimes wonder if catching the ball, especially with hands is not a factor you favor for a WR.  Watkins and Hightower have really nice speed but they are basket catchers primarily.  Need to improve on hand eye coordination.  Look, I love Marquez Stevenson out of UH but the reason a kid with his speed is projected as a third day is because he is primarily a basket catcher.

My receiver requirements in order

Catches the ball, preferably a snatcher

Runs good routes

Has good body control

Has techniques including speed to get open, speed between 4.4 and 4.58 preferred but all require something other than just speed.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Having said that I like hurts feet in the pocket, he's not hectic or panicked, every movement seems calm and deliberate.

We'll see how that translates but watching hurts in and out of the pocket doesn't give me anxiety like Wentz did.

Same for Zach Wilson, he's a smooth operator.

One of the most notable exceptions to the smooth feet analysis is Peyton Manning. His feet were some of the most panicked we've ever seen. Panicked feet typical means scatterbrained and therefore difficulty processing what you're seeing. Manning's feet never stopped chopping, but with him I think his feet were a symptom of an "overclocked" brain. He possessed the rare ability to mentally process at an extremely fast rate. Basically, I think Manning thrived at being scatterbrained.

What's with all these dudes jumping through the roof, 42 vert is nuts for a guy weighing 234 lbs and 11 broad these guys should be playing basketball no?

Pretty impressive 40 eve. If you add 5 tenths to its a 4.46 which is moving for a guy at 234.

Now the question is go to the tape is he an explosive athlete on tape?

Does he run side line to side line can he change direction, can he diagnose and shed and tackle can he drop his hips and cover how's his back pedal and coverage awareness? Or is he just a 234 lb guy that can run and jump?

He can cover too. Can't see why wouldn't be a perfect fit for Gannon

I think you posted tweets about this before. It’s pretty interesting to see. Wonder if it also paints a different picture. How do you find the true and accurate picture of a player. The way this combine is being done or the previous times when they had to deal with all of the extra stuff?

Howie didn't move up to #3 because he felt Zach Wilson wouldnt be there.

Howie traded back because Chase wont be there at 6.

(per reports)

If Wilson makes it to 3, and Chase is at 6, Howie should be fired before our pick at 12

I don’t buy that part at all. There’s no way 1 month away he could know exactly how the top 5 picks pan out and that Chase won’t be there. To me the move down from 6 to 12 was more so saying that he thought the talent was similar in that range.

The part about Wilson not being there at 3 is a lot easier to know now given that at this point NY has made it pretty clear they aren’t listening to trade down offers from 2 + how well Wilson’s pro day went.

Yup manning did have the choppy feet but he chopped them in place, he'd take 100 steps and not move anywhere😄

You're right though I think his feet were just going as fast as they could to keep up with his mental processing.

Not terrible at all. The way he flies around? I was thinking he could have been 6' or slightly less around 210-215

???? Is the 6 additional pounds Bobby Wagner weighs really that big of a deal ??   Darius Leondard weighs 230, Erik Kendricks 232.  Not sure what you expect them to weigh.

Just a reminder- Remember after the SB in 2017 and Doug said this is the new norm?

He was talking about where we are now..... the new norm, clueless, no talent team,  = perennial losers.

Five tenths would put him at 4.91. I'm beginning to like Micah Parsons. Anyone else like him?

Best defensive player in this draft; if he’s on the board at #12 it would be foolish not to consider him.

He’s apparently not a nice guy off the field — apparently I must be old school, because for an NFL LB I would assume he’s not.  Will he stay out of prison?  If so he’s on my board

Yes, but we are talking about the Eagles and I'm mocking them because they pick the tweeners who get trucked.

When I look at him I'm thinking Ray Lewis.

Leonard had played at 220 and as low as 215

Yes, but we are talking about the Eagles. They can't pick LB talent for crap since Hicks.

They haven’t drafted a LB higher than 5th round since Hicks until Taylor who was always supposed to be a project.

Yeah, not saying they have to go first round, but it would have been nice if they invested more there going back to Andy (other than Hicks). One of the dumbest things Andy ever did was let Trott out of his franchise tag. They might have won the SB that year. But yeah...they get the tweeners and projects. Love to see them get one in the 2nd this year.

Apparently Gannon will have a higher value on coverage linebackers than the last geniuses. Considering we have zero maybe Howie finally addresses the position with quality players that actually  play the sport and not watch from the sidelines through all high school

LSU's Terrace Marshall said the Eagles are expressing a lot of interest.  I think that is their target for Round 2, but they probably will have to trade up to the end of the 1st to get him. I don't think we will take a WR in Round 1 at 12, even if Smith or Waddle are there.
