I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Well, given that the WRs are likely better next year, let’s run through the depth chart.

Let’s start with the offense:

X WR Fulgham, could improve here but not real value until mid rounds

Z WR Reagor, Watkins

Slot WR Hightower, Ward. (Good value day three with players like Toney or Stevenson, you will love their speed)

TE Goedert, JJAW, Jackson

LT Dillard, Mailata

LG Seumalo, Driscoll

C Kelce, Seumalo, Herbig (nice value at C/G day 2 and 3

RG Brooks, Herbig (again, nice value at C/G day 2 and 3)

RT Johnson, Mailata, Driscoll

Note, still unsigned but Wanogho struck me as a good potential swing T and Toth has some potential. Depth and upgrade potential but not a huge need,

RB Sanders, need (nice value day 2 and 3), Scott

QB Wentz, Hurts, kind of need

Now I keep hearing Chase as an X but I think he is a Z. For the football gods sake, give our sophomores a chance.

Now defense

DE Graham (with a salary adjustment, I suspect) -aging and needs a plan but 2020 isn’t the draft for it, Barnett (extension and adjustment needed), Sweat, Avery? Best edge value in draft is late day two, day three.

DT Cox, Hargrave, Williams, McGill  could see some attempt to upgrade the rotation although I like Williams.  Value day three.

MIKE Edwards, Bradley.  Upgrade day two.  Not a good LB draft so probably talking a project. Wish we had a fourth.

WIL/SAM (they play a lot of two LB)  Singleton, Taylor, Smith, Bachie  Need to give Taylor a chance  Singleton is at least depth  best value is day 2/3 unless you want to draft Parsons, which I don’t recommend. Could go day two though

Outside CB   Slay...................................James, I can list Maddox too, but he is really a slot. There is nothing else there.  Mills is a UFA but, really? Decent but not absurd depth in the draft but the talent is probably day one with possible bleed into day two.

Nickel Maddox and LeBlanc (upgrade a real possibility)

FS Epps (McLeod but not until later in the season)  People can pipe dream about Maddox but no.  Great depth at S this year.  Best value, day two.

SS Wallace (Mills and Ford are UFAs)  At the least, depth needed.  Looks like some diamonds in the rough day three.

So yes, CB is the greatest position of need on the team. That cupboard is bare.  Not can we upgrade but rather a massive hole. Toss up between X and S for next up then LB, C/G and RB depth. Then maybe slot.  Frankly, I suspect Fulgham and Hightower would excel at slot.  TE depth would be nice, like DT and swing T.  Future DE help but this draft’s edges are all with holes and weigh in the 230-240 range  better suited as 3/4 OLBs.  I am a BPA draft fan but realistically when considering holes that might be addressed in the draft, one needs to consider the pool.  Same with UFAs, although with Howie cap hell, UFAs to fill holes doesn’t seem possible this year.

Respectfully, I stopped reading at Fulgham.

Why does the Andy Reid tree think returners are worthless? I’ll never understand it.

JR Reed was a major reason the McNabb team made the Super Bowl. Ward CAN’T return punts. Scott shouldn’t return another kickoff.

Mitchell, Westbrook, DJax, Sproles??? Who said our coaches dont like good returners?

And 65 percent against playoff caliber teams still would have been top 10 in the league, so still really good even in your cherry-picked scenario.

It’s still a drop off and they lost more of those games. That’s including the bills game which they went 6-6 on a Tuesday night in a game they had nearly 3 weeks to prepare for  even so give that credit for going 6-6

so I ask you to 75% for the year but then it drops by 10% when they play playoff teams. Why do you think that is? Better competition and they tended to get away from what was working for them in those other games. And I know they have at least two of those drives where they got a garbage time touchdown in those games. So we could be even worse. The Browns game they scored a touchdown late when the game was already over. Hence what I’ve been saying. It’s great that they can go 82% against the worst teams in the league. Most good offenses do. it’s when you have to play better competition and then you see a drop off outside of the bills game that becomes a problem

Someone needs to tell her the story of "Stink" during the PS one year.

Y’know, if we do take a corner at #6, at least Schwartz won’t be here to ruin him.

And for the record, I liked Schwartz and thought he was good enough, but he really ran a CB graveyard

If Bears don't score at least a FG here and take some time off the clock while doing it, this one could get ugly fast. Hate the Saints as much as anyone, but Brees steals lunches at home.

I would say there is a lot of noise involved in small sample sizes, especially as you continue to chop them up even more to defend an opinion based on a couple of plays you didn’t like.

Check and see what happens when other teams play playoff teams/better defenses.   I'm going to guess that since the top RZ defense is at about 48%, that most teams go down if they play better competition.

Nice throw and catch!

While I don’t think the bears will win, this is a ridiculous take. It’s the first quarter

His position in the past (and maybe still) is since it’s unrealistic to be able to stop the pass in the NFL, just put some fast scrubs out there to chase after the catch, and spend premium picks elsewhere.

I think of it more that a secondary that can actually cover man-to-man and generate turnovers is worth its weight in gold.

Wtf...that was a catch. Shouldn't have to challenge that. Refs blow.

That's a catch.

Two feet in bounds then a third step out of bounds before hitting the ground.

Clearly a catch.  He had 3 steps and control of the ball before he even went out of bounds.

Whoa... Nelson Agholor plays for the Bears?

Nice Catch Nelson

Agholor was traded to the Bears.

wow, agholor plays for Chicago?  LOL

That 65 percent number he tossed out be playoff caliber teams is interesting. New England had the fifth worst RZ defense and was at 65 percent.

So essentially playoff caliber teams were the equivalent of being the fifth worst RZ defense when facing Tennessee.

WOW.  MIms just dropped a perfect ball.
