Agree and would be good with this. Certain posters seem to think he'll be a first rounder though, for whatever reason.

I haven’t followed either of these guys before this draft...just watched both with interest during the draft process.  But what is the real difference between Zach Wilson and Mills?  Wilson wasn’t even considered a first round pick until this year.

The raw passing talent is there.

As far as his draft round...if Lawrence/Wilson/Fields/Lance/Jones go round 1...I just can’t fathom qb 6 going even in round 2.  There are only so many nfl teams per offseason willing to invest a premium pick in a qb.

Hurts, for example, was qb 5 in round 2.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Do you think Davis fits a Stoutland profile? I cant make up my mind

kid from Tennessee seems like a good fir

Absolutely. If if if he’s healthy he’s fast, quick, powerful, has good hands and feet and plays hard.

I think eagles are committed to Hurts for now and will add pieces for him , but you never know

Hurts is a bad passer and I’m pretty sure the Eagles know it.  He’s here because he’s here.

They’ll upgrade when the opportunity presents itself.

They just drafted him last year rd 2, played a handful of games , and they quit on him already ?

But can he fight fires? 🧐

He’s qb 1, that’s not quitting on him.  He’ll get his shot.

But don’t confuse this with drafting a qb high round 1 where everyone in the franchise is excited to turn over the keys and see what he’s got.  Half the city and half the FO are cringing over this.

Teams don’t take 3 years to let a 2nd round pick at qb play it out.  You think the Eagles are stacking up on 2022 first round picks to build a new LB corps?  They already have 1 foot out the door on Hurts.

And teams don’t move on from players after 5 games either

at-least competent teams don’t

If Farley is there in round 2 and we don't get a corner in round 1, do we or should we pull that trigger? I think he's a much better prospect when we made the Sydney Jones selection and he is supposed to be ready by the season opener...

The Redskins drafted a QB better than RG3 in the same draft...and with a valuable pick too.

If someone is a potential upgrade at the most important position on the field, no team in nfl history has passed it up.  At least competent teams don’t.

Yes.  Depending on the exact surgery that was done and under the assumption he has no nerve damage, I’d recommend subtracting about 32 picks from wherever you might have ranked Farley in the first place.

I would guess that most nfl teams would deduct a little less than that.  So 37 is a little rich for me, but he’s getting drafted by someone willing to take the risk no later than mid round 2, possibly much earlier.

How about 4th round picks?

Re 2020 draft...

Everyone has debated Hurts and the WRs (Reagor/Hightower/Watkins) extensively.  Driscoll is well-discussed.

Are Davion Taylor and K'von Wallace left for dead already?  Not a peep about them or expectations.  With Mcleod figuring to get healthy at some point in 2021 and the Eagles spending the majority of their precious little cap space on a pair of safeties, that doesn't speak very highly to Wallace's future here.

Taylor looked about as miscast as a defensive player in the NFL as a 3rd round pick can look...but he does have a set of athletic tools.  No one seems to expect much at this point, but 2 LB's above him on the depth chart walked.  I doubt they make a substantial draft investment here.  I guess he'll get his shot?

I the Schwartz resisted playing them both because of needing to learn the NFL.  Wallace was interesting at Clemson.  Sort of a jack of all trades, master of none.   I don’t think he has the instincts to play FS but can play on a rotation that takes him deep on occasion.  Has nickel back skills.  His tackling technique makes him a difficult fit at the down (nobody really plays strong and weak S like when the terms were created anymore) or "strong” S.  I suspect he is going to be a good S there, kind of middle of the pack.
Taylor has great athletic skill but had to pick up the NFL game.  I have said often that I thought he was brought in to replace Gerry or Riley, both of whom were anticipated to leave, and did, in free agency.  He is light and I don’t know how Gannon will react with him.  He’s always been a "potential” selection.  High ceiling maybe guy, with low floor.  He may be a third down backer, like we used Riley initially, or just a STs guy.
You left out Bradley, who actually surprised me last year.  I was down on the pick because I thought he missed reads and positioning in college.  Didn’t really see that.  Should be a competent back up at MIKE and SAM.  Therein lies the problem at LB, a bunch of quality back up LBs bu no real starters.

Weird workout. Has insane burst but is really slow at top speed.

If the Eagles drafted Hirts ideally to be a backup, drafting a potential starter isn’t giving up on him. It’s putting him back in his intended role.

I’d say there was a slight difference between how Dak looked on arrival and how Hurts looked.

I am with these two , and have been saying  he could go late one early two, Mond is another steal

QB Davis Mills of Stanford has some of the most intriguing tape to watch of any player in this draft. He is the off the radar developmental QB that should be on the radar. Classic pocket passer, adequate mobility, good arm strength, exceptional touch...could be an absolute steal.

100%

And some throws that just make you scratch your head and say "huh”.  Not as bad as Mond with those but I think Mond is the better of the two.  Both will go higher than they should.

Like Dak, he was just sliiightly better than Hurts as a rookie.  Also #2 overall pick.

Best comparison is and remains Tim Tebow.  Comparable draft status, comparable rookie years, comparable completion numbers, comparable take off and run vs pass tendency....and the Broncos cut bait fast when a better opportunity came along.

Mills would be a great investment here.  Far more upside as a passer than Hurts.  He’s a great prospect to just coach up for a year.

Thats the epitome of how I’d like them to do QB. Fine someone with easy arm talent and a fast release in round 3, use the other picks to stack up around him...rather than trade everything for one guy at the top of the draft to play with crap wrs and a crap OL.

Mills will be there in round 3 as long as Belichick gets his qb early.

That’s a heck of a projection for a guy with eleven starts.

I think Hurts is a heck of a projection for a guy who can’t pass, but my opinion and $1.25 will get you through a local EZ pass.

Did the Eagles send anyone to Wake Forests Pro Day?    Jamie Newman will likely be in that group as well with Mond.

Nah.  Hurts looked fine, given the circumstances and will likely look that much better in season 2, with a healthy O-line, etc, etc

Hurts can pass.  He can also run and in college, they utilized both.  What I like about both is that both have nice touch and placement with most throws.  Mills is a little careless with his interceptions.  More so than Hurts was.  I do want to see Hurts improve his read speed.

Nah???  Whats the difference between 3667/23/4/104.9/67.8% and 1061/6/4/77.6/52%???

You brought Dak into this as an example of not cutting bait after 1 year.  The comparison is a total joke.
