The Cardinals unis today looked suspiciously like the Phils 70s baby blues.  I'm angry, gonna write a letter.

The Cards wore those back in the early 80s. So they aren't new.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I'm still perturbed.  Though Al Roboski wore it well

Watching some vids and ended up down a rabbit role that led to this. Aside from contested catches, I see nothing from JJAW. Cant believe some people were excited about him.

Suggs with the block and the buzzer beater. What a Fing game

Is he a trade candidate for ben simmons?

Probably not. Guessing the team that drafts him is in a rebuild and not wanting to take on Simmons contract.

I get the feeling Carlos Basham is going to be a really good rotational DE in the NFL.  Probably goes off the board sometime between the Eagles #37 and #70 picks.  Hope he doesn’t end up on another NFC East team.

Cards wore baby blue wayyyy before the phillies. Punch yourself.

Ideally you get a starter on day 2 but agreed, would be great in the rotation.

I have Gonzaga in my bracket to win it but  I truly have no skin in the game. Happy the usuals aren't in it.  Would be fun to see an undefeated season, but Baylor as Champs would be great too.  I feel like all of America wins on Monday.

Is Gonzaga not a usual? I feel like I always hear about them

It’s more the philosophy. Pete Carroll loves 1980s offensive football.

We don't know what Sirianni’s philosophy is at the moment though. And we know we lack talent.

Man I would trade one of our picks next year to murder this draft. Come away with bateman, a lber, and a safety in the first two rounds.

He has a no-trade clause and would only waive it to go to CHI, DAL, NO, or LV.  The Eagles are not included on that list — and no reason to believe Wilson would waive it in the future to go to PHI.

It’s a non-story, non-starter and non-issue

Ok good! I mean he's a fantastic QB but it just isn't the right move for this team right now.

I 1000% buy it. Howie and Jeff are obsessed with him

Isn't that why they drafted Hurts though? They saw Wilson in Hurts?

So if the Eagles for weeks tried to set up a trade for the 3rd pick thinking he could fall at one point in time. Then found out he wouldn’t fall to 3 and then moved to the Jets to trade with them for the number two pick and the Jets said no every time that means they didn’t seriously try to acquire that pick? Yup clearly that would mean they weren’t serious. Just cause the Jets never seriously considered not selecting Wilson doesn’t mean the eagles weren’t seriously trying convince them or find a way to get Wilson until they realize it wasn’t gonna happen.

Hurts is the starting QB for the Philadelphia Eagles.

And this is why people freaked out when the Eagles drafted Jalen Hurts in QB no man's land.

You draft a QB in round 1?  It's a marriage.  You build around them, plan around them...they are the guy.  You owe them time.

You draft a QB in rounds 3-7...it's a project.  You can move on, find an upgrade, have whatever flexibility you want.  They need to earn it.

Round 2?  That pretty much makes Hurts the worst QB prospect in the NFL that will be handed a job that gets year(s) of the obligatory 'wait and see how he does.'  Or it makes him the most expensive project in the NFL that...as you guys have already started to do....people question what you are thinking when you are ready to move on so soon.

It seems your thought process is   Never draft a QB in the 2nd no matter what, don’t even think about it. Hurts played 5 games, basically thrown in there. That wasn’t the plan. Most 1st rounders aren’t expected that much playing time if any unless the team is basically QB-less whether from injury or they are picking in the top 5 for a reason. I judge him while considering all the circumstances and am somewhat impressed, he didn’t look out of his league and more polished than expected. If he can be an average QB, with lower than avg. TO’s while being able to run the way he does that probably puts him in the top 10. We got other fish to fry. I say average you say mediocre. The glass is half full, we’ll see

Does anyone have anything good to say about Hurts?

Or is it just that he played with a bad supporting cast?

This isn’t #2 rb where we just need to get by.

Its the freaking franchise qb and no one can say one damn good thing about the guy besides that he runs well and had a bad OL.

It wasn’t the plan. What made CW’s season a disaster not sure we’ll ever know. To say drafting Hurts in the 2nd is an excuse and is weak. Some of us have seen enough to say lets see and roll the dice this rebuilding season, defer to next season if obviously he hasn’t moved the needle. I’m no QB expert but you could be. It does say something to be willing to die on a hill on a message board though. The draft hasn’t happened yet so maybe Lowie agrees with you, could happen. Then you’ll be somewhat satisfied and I’ll be highly critical like most here

He played better than Wentz who we traded for a 1st and 3, a somewhat controlled experiment but not FDA approved yet. Still needs further testing

Agreed. 4 games is not enough to determine how good (or bad) he's going to be over a sustained period. He was awful playing behind a banged up OL with lots of starters out and his WRs were not good. Not to mention the offense was stale and the previous coaching staff didn't seem to be doing a great job.

Now perhaps Hurts struggles this year, he may not be the long term answer but we simply do not know that at this point.

Some of this fanbase had their head in the sand. If you question Hurts or criticize his game you're "trashing" the guy and hate the Eagles.

And some people are on a bender. Almost perfect world Lowie doesn’t extend CW, trades him after the 2019 season and starts the rebuild  in 2020. Hurts probably not here

Meanwhile the eagles attempted to trade up to three to get Zach Wilson. And someone tried to squash that report and make rapoport delete the tweet. Who do you think asked him to delete that tweet? Also what does that say about how the eagles truly feel if true?

ive been fine going with hurts this year. But seems to me the eagles are stockpiling pick cause they don’t know what Hurts is going to be and if he fails this year have 3 firsts (assuming wentz plays 75% or 70% and the colts make the playoffs) to maneuver and get their QB.

Eagles don’t know but

and teams don't draft QBs to be gadget players in the 2nd round either yet here we are.  If NO wasn't using Hill like they have been, Hurts would never have been drafted by the Eagles IMO.

Hill outplayed Brees or CW hearing footsteps, which do you prefer ?

Competent teams that drafted him to be a backup do

Foles is and always will be a better QB than Wentz.

So, your position is that Foles will be better than Wentz in 2021?

1 hour ago, Ace Nova said:

Yes, he dropped you all like yesterday's news.  He couldn't care less about the city, the fans or the team.  So if you still defend this guy well, go follow the Colts.  You probably shouldn't of been here to begin with.

This guy is giving everything he has to show his naysayers wrong and hoping to earn the starting QB position....

Not sure why it's your agenda to make this a Wentz vs Hurts discussion.  Wentz is largely irrelevant now because he plays for a different team; the only impact he will have moving forward is the return the Eagles got -- the two draft picks.

Hurts wasn't very good in his 4 games as a starter last season.  It doesn't matter it was the first 4 games of his career; other teams don't care, and the fans don't care -- and they shouldn't.  You get the gig as starting QB, you need to perform.  No excuses.  Wentz earned his defenders with 4 years of good work.  Hurts gets one season -- 2021.  If he plays well enough to keep the job the Eagles can use their 3 first round picks next season to build around him.  If he doesn't play well enough the Eagles will use some or all of that draft capital to get a starting QB who is good enough.

End of story.
