I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I wouldn't be surprised if pick #12 comes around and Trey Lance (or Mac Jones) is still on the board.  If that's the case do the Eagles trade out again and get a pick from NE, WFT, or CHI?  Ignore Lance/Jones and make the pick at #12 for a CB or WR (or other)?  Or do they select QB at #12?

The only pick I figure with a slim chance of being there that I would consider is Waddle and I don’t see him there, trade back for me. If Howie takes QB then I figure Howie learned and did his homework like he should’ve before extending you know who

I think the eagles didn’t want to pay the price for Lance, fields or jones that it would cost to move up cause they didn’t love those three or think they were worth the value of that trade. They might still think each one of those guys is better than hurts but not worth what it cost to move up nor what they could get for the 6th pick or believe none are worth the 6th pick

I think they would’ve for Wilson cause they probably loved Wilson. They weren’t going to just trade up the three just to get a quarterback. You are not going to just move up to three and give up a ton of draft capital unless you LOVE the quarterback. They might like all three of those other quarterbacks and are better than Hurts but not significantly enough to invest trading up, 6 or even 12 to get them

Wilson then a major drop off.

Edit: They like all 3 of those other QB’s and they might be better than Hurts...maybe but not significantly enough to invest trading up

Hurts is the starting QB for the Philadelphia Eagles.

And that still doesn’t disprove what i just said to you.... Also as an FYI I’ve said since the wentz deal was announced they should go with hurts cause they don’t have the draft capital to afford to give up with the roster they currently have and see what Hurts is.

I don’t know if it’s a major drop off. The eagles potentially could think that. However Wilson is going to the Jets and i don’t think that roster is ready for QB to thrive. So i wouldn’t be shocked if one of the others has more success early on then Wilson. For instance 49ers now leaking they’d take a first for Jimmy g (not gonna happen but i definitely could see them moving on if they select Mac jones who’s really doesn’t need to sit for a year) that jones with kittle, deebo, aiyuk, good oline and mostert/Wilson has more success early on then Wilson.

on the edit part, that was kind of what my point was. They can like them and even believe they are better than Hurts but ultimately deem the value of trading up isn’t worth it as they don’t think they are dramatically better to justify it.

Let me distill my problem with Hurts all the way up to the 30,000’ level.  No stats, no highlights, no links.

Of highly drafted qbs...

The ones that are raw are 6’5” with a howitzer.

The ones that are 6’1” with average arms have the passing polish of jewels in a royal crown.

Jalen Hurts is 6’1” with an average arm and is a raw run first passer who needs to work on going through full progressions.

So again...THIS is who we want to hand the keys as our QB of the future?  Purely based on a "well, maybe he surprises us and becomes a Brees/Wilson...because, well, they were kind of like that.”

Sure, it could happen.  But we really want to be the team that hitches our wagon to a 6’1” average arm talent raw passer just because anything can happen?  We’d be snickering at other teams for that.

Now do Wentz, Lance, Fields and Mac ? Give us a good option or just accept the situation. I can see Hurts learning to better use the threat of running to improve him s passing game even more. Maybe Lance and Fields could develop that too but what is the investment costs to determine that out and which one ? Which do you prefer ?

I don't want Fields, but if Lance or even Mac Jones was somehow still on the board at #12?  Yeah, I'd probably consider just taking them.

Criticizing Hurts and bringing up his faults has absolutely nothing to do with Wentz. Are people truly unable to grasp that concept?

It's Easter. If you're eating peeps, you're disgusting and we can't be friends.

Watching some vids and ended up down a rabbit role that led to this. Aside from contested catches, I see nothing from JJAW. Cant believe some people were excited about him.

The bigger problem is no one has put him in the right scheme to match his strengths. Hes not a every down WR. Dougs scheme and routes were the complete opp of what Whiteside will have success in. I hate when teams think they will take any player and think they can change that player, in 9 out of 10 times you cant. You have to build a scheme to fit the player not the other way around. Will be interesting to see if Nick has some plays that will match for Whiteside to have some success. But I dont think he is a horrible player. Now I also dont think he was a 2nd round talent. But I dont think he was used correctly and could be a serviceable player with the right coach.

please put this thread in RnR, you people(woooooooooo), couldnt handle RnR

It would almost be comical if JJAW is any kind of asset for the Eagles in 2021; what a damning indictment it would be on Doug and Press Taylor if he emerged from his tomb.

I suspect that ship has sailed, though, and JJAW will be a late cut in training camp.

I feel like they need 1 receiver in this draft, and JJ will be the guy to make room no matter what position(s) he plays.

I go back and forth on which was the best non sequitur from the 2020 ramblings of Doug:

1.  Being asked about JJAW in the starting lineup "We're really going to have to lean on him", followed by 0 catches for 0 yards on 0 targets, or

2.  Being asked about the health status of Miles Sanders and Lane Johnson on Thursday saying "both are coming along extremely well", then neither even putting on a frickin' jersey that Sunday

He ran better than Wentz anyways

Thing is that the Eagles have said numerous times that the plan is to have two starting level QBs.  Explains the Flacco signing too.

Sirianni has had success with big WRs with average speed. Allen, Pittman, Pascal. I think he may be able to find a role for JJAW. Indy picked up Burton who has a similar skill set.

Heck, Avant was slower and made a living getting one step of separation, using his body to shield the ball and his hands to snatch it.

Cards wore baby blue wayyyy before the phillies. Punch yourself.

Just read an article about the blue unis.   Cubs first in the early 40s.   Dodgers had a satin version for 2 years in the 40s.  Satin!  Play a game then sleep comfortably in your uniform.

That’s the same offense that invested in TY Hilton and Paris Campbell.

Flacco hasn't been a starting level QB for a few years now.

How are you feeling?

Listening to Avant talking on Reagor, he seemed to be the most confident about him being successful, and that Reagor definitely wants it.  Apparently the the Justin Jefferson press clippings or chatter about how the Eagles should of taken him instead, really pisses him off.     Reagor should be plenty motivated this year to prove himself and those numbers you put up, absolutely he should reach.

Someone needs to get him the ball. His QBs were trash last year.

JJAW goes from being Alshon’s replacement to Trey Burton’s... sounds about right I guess
