I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

its possible Doug and Jeff are interviewing someone there today.

Doug's flying down to fetch coffee?

Unless I’m mistaken, the report prior to the Eagles last game against WFT was that Doug was likely staying, but significant coaching changes would be made.  I have to believe that was Lurie’s position.

Perhaps what transpired was Lurie asked Howie how the coaching interviews were going, and Howie said "Doug intends to go with Press Taylor for OC and Matt Burke for DC”, and Lurie replied, "Yeah?  Like F!” ... and then we hear that Doug is suddenly not quite as safe.

I’m actually really not kidding

He would get to "Press Tay--" before I had security escort him out of the building. Lurie is doing him a favor by giving him another meeting.

Maybe he's traded to Jacksonville. Is it a one way flight?

Kind of interesting both 6 seeds knocked off the 3 seeds. The one other thing those 6 seeds had in common, they both lost to the Jets in back to back weeks.

What does all this mean?

Not a thing. Just some useless trivia on a Monday morning.

I think it follows the trend we saw all season... home field advantage isn't really a thing in the age of Covid.

Maybe the Steelers can join the Wentz sweepstakes.  Big Ben is toast.

I'm a Wentz fan and think he can turn it around but I think Steelers fans would love Wentz.  Just seems like Wentz is much more Western PA than he is Del Co. With the way the Steelers draft and develop WR, stick the the running games and traditionally play defense it would kill me to see him go there.  A Steelers team with Wentz back to normal is a dangerous team and the last thing I want is to hear Steelers fans bragging about more rings.

I’m sorry.  But the whole Del Co line is dumb.  I know it’s a trendy thing to say right now, which is why I think it’s dumb.  I generally go against things that are trendy.   Thought you should know.

I honestly didn't know it was a thing, I just abbreviate a bunch when typing on here.  It's a trend?

I'm going with Doug is not getting fired today. It would definitely be ignorant to make him fly to Florida to get the axe.

It’s definitely odd that this is in Florida.  I assume Lurie has a place there.

You make someone come to you to read them the riot act and put them in their place.  "Shut up and do what my boy Howie says.”

Like you said, I don’t think you fly them to Florida just to fire them.

Going against "trendy" things simply because they are trendy is, in and of itself, also a trend.

Random but Joe Douglas got two 1st round picks for a box safety. That is low key one of the most lopsided trades ever.

lol

Makes sense. Even if he returns he’s on thin ice, and trying to make it work with an OC he doesn’t know all that well is a tough ask. 1) Minimal chemistry and 2) the pool of quality candidates likely is small.

The pool is small as to whom would want to work for a lame duck coach.

The problem with Press Taylor and Doug wanting him, is,  Press is probably a yes man. And most likely Jeff knows that

Doug's best coaches were ones that were picked for him, not by him (Schwartz, Duce, Stoutland, Peelle, DeFelippo). TBF to Doug, he did pick Reich. Even that was a case of Pederson/Reich being teammates in Carolina.

Doug has consistently shown an inability to get a good staff. It shows up all the time in player development.

First, I brought up the Wentz to Steelers idea months ago.  It would be a good fit.

Frankly I am more western PA than DEL CO myself.  I am more of a small city, back woods, leave me the hell alone guy. For the life of me I dont get people who love living in cities. But to each their own.   🙂

You forgot, F the Steelers.

Seriously, if Wentz goes to the steelers, I'll be watching & Rooting for them. It isn't his fault Howie and Doug were allowed to drive this team down into the toilet

well, he did finally state he might have to start calling plays that are to the strengths of his players, after the season was over.

I love Wentz but that's a bridge too far

Burke and Manuel are expected to get interviews for DC if Pederson stays, according to Caplan.
