I think this is more of Doug not wanting to hire anyone from the outside to his staff.  That is what all the smoke is.  I don't think this has to do with Wentz and if it did it is a small percentage.

This does give me hope that Carson Wentz can be salvaged and we won't be on the QB carousel just yet.   I'd love to see Daboll come in, bring in a few things with him... Move your QB around... Make some throws easier for the QB with motions, and crossers... and for goodness sake, get some legitimate WR in here, no more retreads and hopes that raw will equal success.

Dark horse: Lincoln Riley (doubt he leaves Oklahoma) and joe Brady (i don’t think he gets a job cause i can’t see Carolina letting their QB coach go to bama to be an OC if Carolina believed he’d be gone this offseason— i think they would’ve told him there’s a good chance he’s the OC next year)

NFLN just said (Andrew Siciliano) that a source close to Pederson said that Doug said "he was tired of people telling him what to do".

Idk he coached with the panthers last year as their OC. It’s not a chip or Lincoln Riley situation 

A new coaching staff to me makes it significantly more likely we consider QB. Will we trade up to 2 or 3?

IMO, this is when DP knew it was Howie's show and Howie's show only.  One of the best videos ever.  Going back and watching it again just to hear Howie go on and on about their FO is painful though.  DP needed to leave but that's only half the problem with Howie being a big part still.

Those should be the canidates I left of the 49ers defensive guy because Lurie usually hires offense. 

 

My first choice would be Daboll clearly if you plan on keeping Wentz he would be the best choice with what he did with Allen.

So it’s what I’ve been saying. That doug didn’t exactly want to be here anymore as he wanted to do what he wanted, hire his own staff and be a play caller. That’s why i said i don’t think it’s out of the question doug told the eagles he wanted to go elsewhere and felt he could get a HC job elsewhere where he’d have that power.

I was in your corner until this season, when it seemed like you just checked out. I wish you great health and happiness in life, and in 10 years time you'll be fondly remembered I imagine. Lurie needs to expand his horizons and look beyond Andy Reid.  He went way far afield with Chip, and got burned.  So he went back to the old and familiar.  Lurie needs to prove that he can let the past go and move forward.

McLane said keep an eye on Kafka too.

I'm just glad that there is at least something to look forward to and be interested for next season. Had they have stuck with Pederson, we would have been getting the same, plodding, inefficient offense we've seen for the past three seasons and it would have been a disaster. If they end up getting a progressive thinking offensive coach like Daboll or Brady, that's an exciting move. The same way it was exciting for the Rams with McVay and the Packers with LaFleur.

Why would any top candidate want to come here if he is going to be dictated by Howie? We are so screwed.
