The only reason Peters was brought back and on a very cheap deal is because 2 of our starting linemen were done for the season before the season even began. And Mailata WAS STILL AN UNKOWN AT THAT POINT. PERIOD. This entire "they should have started Mailata" all year instead of bringing Peters back is nonsensical. You stop. Peters was brought back before they lost 2 starting OL. They brought him back at RG. That was a mistake. They compounded the mistake by paying more money (for an old and busted player, shocking!) to move to LT. Mailata was not the only option at LT, and Peters was not the only option either. Mailata was unknown, which I didn't say anything against - read it again. BUT... when Peters got hurt, Mailata should have never been pulled out because by that point he had proven he could play. He had struggles... but should have been allowed to play through them. I said it at the time, and I'll repeat it since you don't understand... the decision to bring back Jason Peters to replace Brandon Brooks was the WRONG decision. They had other options, but chose to favor the familiar, even though they KNEW he couldn't be counted on for 16 games. Even if nothing had ever happened to Andre Dillard, Jason Peters would have been a detriment to this OL at RG. At best, you would get a few games out of him... at worst, you would get the yo-yo. The worst thing for an OL is change. And Jason Peters' lack of ability to stay on the field was a MAJOR contributor to the 13 or 14 different OL combinations. Had they gone a different way at RG at the beginning of the process, a lot of that could have been avoided. And that has NOTHING to do with Andre Dillard or LT.

Andy has Tyreek Hill and Mahomes, we have neither. Anyone remember when the team went in a different direction and hired that guy from Oregon.

He was a mess this year, but Lurie and Roseman are just as much to blame. Thank you for LII. No matter how it ended here, you deserve that statue outside of the Linc.

That likely pissed him off. So, this year, he was going to go down with the ship. Their moves were no better, and likely worse because they had too many cooks in the kitchen. While not a great plan, it would have been a simpler one... and sometimes simpler is better. That said, I am glad he's gone, but wouldn't be shocked if he had some success elsewhere. I don't think he's Rich Kotite. I'm not a fan of Howie or Lurie dictating what a HC should be doing with his staff and meddling into his job. At the same time, bringing back Groh and Walch is completely unacceptable. Promoting Press Taylor to OC and Andrew Breiner, a guy who last worked with Quarterbacks at Fordham and you have a broken QB and a second year player who needs a ton of development, is unacceptable. This is a business and Doug needs to grow a pair and handle his coaching staff appropriately. He will never last in this league if he can't do the basic things like holding people accountable.

Not only does AR have Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Sammy Watkins but those are the same guys that Beinemy has. Give a guy 4 Ferrari's and they better perform at a top level. Has Beinemy made any averager players great or has be been handed the keys? The Eagles don't have anyone on offense close to KC's talent. I want a coach who can make average players play good and good players play great.

Honestly he was dealt a bad hand this season. Sure he had issues with play calling and mess up in situational football at times but Howie had him backed into a corner and Carson wasn’t listening to him either.

So they clearly like him a lot 2. former eagles QB should help with the QBs we have in their development. Add on he was a backup here for years similar to doug in that respect 3. based on everything I’ve read and heard a lot of people around the league think he’s going to be a really good head coach in the league one day. He’s young 4. i am guessing they like him more than beinemy only cause he has helped work and groom mahomes as the QB coach (since 2018 before he became the MVP he is) and is a former QB 5. They know Mike Kafka intimately since he was a player here for a few years. 6. He's probably a very smart guy since he went to Northwestern.
January 11, 20214 yr Wow...a GM who has overseen 4 coaches in 9 seasons. 3 firings, 3 hirings. 9 seasons. It really is his job for life.

January 11, 20214 yr Doug coached like an absolute maniac this season and it makes sense now because he probably knew it was his last season. Between that and the report about who he wanted for OC/DC, they had no choice but to move on. He was clearly done here mentally.

I much prefer him working with wentz/hurts as much as i like beinemy as a coach i don’t know how he works with QBs and developing them. 2 minutes ago, eagle45 said: Wow...a GM who has overseen 4 coaches in 9 seasons. 3 firings, 3 hirings. 9 seasons. So he’s been working with mahomes before mahomes became mahomes. How much of that is Kafka i don’t know. But it’s a nice feather in his cap that he’s been that guy Odds are that Mahomes made Kafka not vice versa. Gase was supposedly a genius because he coached Manning. Let's be careful here.
