nope, nor will he.  We will hire somebody nobody else is interested in again so they can control them.

Now that the decision is made, I absolutely love HC searches. It’s fun learning about philosophy from all the new guys.

If we get Daboll, Smith or Brady, I’m happy. Anyone else and I’m probably not. And whoever the next hire is, please keep Stout.

Idk. But they spun it as a mutual parting of the way. I think that was likely Doug’s way of saying if you don’t allow me to do this then i can go find a HC job elsewhere that will give me that type of trust and power. 

I can't recall any college coaches that make the jump and have sustained success in the pros. Carroll would be the only one, but he was an NFL guy before he was a college guy. I'd prefer we don't go the college route. 

Saw that one coming last week.  They gave each other a week to come together and it wasn't possible.

HC options:

Best case scenario: Daboll.  The job he did in Buffalo was exceptional.

Very good candidates with concerns: Bieniemy.  You can't ask for much better than the OC for the NFL's best offense, best QB, best WRs, and understudy of the best offensive mind in the game.  Both that many superlatives also makes you wonder if he's responsible for these things or if he's along for the ride.  Only one way to find out and his time has come.  I suppose even Kafka can creep into this category, although he hasn't put in his time yet.

If they dip low, then we know it's a combination of candidates staying away from Howie...and Howie sticking to candidates that can be controlled.

For sure. I just think Bieniemy doing poorly in interviews is more reason he could end up with the Eagles. They're a little behind the other teams, I don't think they're a great judge of people anyway, and he's someone who has support around the league and has the KC connection.

This has been the rep with Bieniemy and one of the reasons why he's yet to get a job. Apparently he's a terrible interviewer.

I don’t like this move. But I also don’t know what this team is supposed to look like to start next year. I’m gonna need convincing that this team will be worth something next year cause I’m not seeing it.

Kind of feels like a new coach would buy howie more time as well. He shouldn’t be making the coaching search hire. He hired chip. And he was dangerously close to hiring mcadoo if the giants didn’t last minute pull the rug out from under us. Wound up working in our favor

Just can't see another Reid tree guy right after parting ways with one, but we will see.

You can't block anyone from a HC interview.

Not shocking as this organization does the unexpected all the time and stuff like this. However there were a ton of questionable decisions from doug that seasons and quotes in his presser that were just bizarre. We love doug after 2017 but after 2016 there were a ton of questions about doug.
