Carroll was in the NFL before he was in college. I said prior he's the only one really that at least was in college for an extended time and then came back to have success in the NFL.

Coughlin learned in the NFL as an assistant under Parcells.

Jimmy Johnson was an outlier, and didn't last long.

Harbaugh is a joke.

Vermeil wasn't that great of a coach. He was the right guy to turn around Philly in the 70s, and a great spot for the Rams in late 90s. But he's a .500 career coach.

Bill Walsh learned his craft in the NFL, as an assistant coach with the Bengals for almost a decade. He was a college coach for 1 year.

😅

You can play this game with any coaching candidate. There are always drawbacks.

But any revisionist history on Carroll, Harbaugh, etc. shouldn't be applied. Harbaugh came from college and immediately turned the 49ers around. People thought the Seahawks were crazy for hiring Carroll. Don't scout the helmet, scout the player (or coach).

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I have a feeling he’s the top candidate

This stuff about "college coaches don't work in the NFL" means nothing.  Scheming in the NFL is not rocket science.  A sharp guy like Lincoln Riley could figure it out no problem, especially if he hires and OC and other staff w/NFL experience.

I'd LOVE to see us interview an out of the box candidate like that.

Looking back to Chip, it wasn't his coaching that was the problem.  It was his GMing, backroom politicking, and lack of people skills that got him fired.

Pederson takes the fall from the media and his players....and gets fired the next week as a result.  This organization has lost so much credibility and respect, I'm not sure I feel the same way about being an Eagles fan, tbh.

The Eagles are run by backstabbing scum.  A total embarrassment.

Translation: Thank God I'm out of there.

I just feel meh.  Howie is and was the main problem with this team being where they are.  I have the same empty feeling of finding a coach as I do knowing that Howie is pulling the trigger at pick #6.

We will be looking for another head coach in 2025.

I hope not.  I speaks volumes that with all the openings he hasn't even been interviewed.  Can we once not try to be the smartest person in the room?  Interview the canidates everyone wants and goes from there.   Badoll (who has the same agent as Howie), Smith, and Brady.

Please show me a college coach that has sustained success in the NFL.

While I agree, its a dangerous move... Dick Vermeil, Jimmy Johnson.  Depends how you define 'sustained' success, I suppose.

Doug has zero tact. Most teams would've "tanked" that last game, but they wouldn't have looked like the absolute morons like Doug made them look.

With the team heading into a rebuild, the next coach will be setup to fail.  The team is crippled with dead cap money and will not be competitive.

2 seasons w/no playoffs means the new coach will be nothing more than the next scapegoat for JeffieHowie.

So we let the one honest guy in the organization take the fall.  Got it.

Yeah cause he knows he can get another job where he doesn’t have to give up play calling duties and can hire his own staff. He was ok with it back in September when that report came out he was ok being let go

Yep.  I'll be following the Chiefs for the foreseeable future.  I'm done with this nonsense.

God Emperor Howie Roseman.

We're all doomed.

The more I think about it the more concerned I am that Lurie isn't just making the decision based on what the thinks should be done.  Maybe Roseman's only real job is to process information for Lurie and allow Lurie to make the decision.  As much as we want Howie gone and he should be gone, I wonder if Lurie is simply too involved at this point.  In any event, I don't think Howie is the Emperor.  He's more like Talleyrand.

Kafka could be Shanahan for all we know, but I'm not watching next season if they hire him and keep Howie. It would reek of Lurie thinking "I really don't have confidence to hire a great coach, so just go back to the Reid well for another coach." It would feel so amateurish.

This team is a Fing disgrace. They're embarrassing to root for at this point and just a few years removed from being the envy of the NFL.

For all the heat DP is getting for not going out of house to hire a coaching staff (half the reason he was fired), the same can be said about Lurie.  There are other coaches outside of the AR coaching tree.

Explore all options, don't lock in to one philosophy.

If it makes you feel better, sure.

I don't feel bad at all.  You are welcome to interpret the facts any way you'd like, but you are not welcome to your own facts, or to misrepresent the facts I presented.

If you want to say that the decision to bring back Peters over Warford or Long at RG was because the team was worried about depth at OT... fine.   But, Peters was signed after Brooks was injured and before Dillard.  So, there was only 1 injury at the time they made that move.

Wonder how Lurie’s conversations are going with Howie.  I think it is questionable that Howie survives this.

So because our team sucks and is having obvious internal issues, you are abandoning ship for another team?

Don’t let the door hit you on your out behind your BFF Doug.
