Referred to Wentz as an asset...

Beginning to think the Riley/Hurts thing is going to happen.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Apparently, the Eagles have identified the best players in the draft, but they are drafted 5 spots in front of them...

Howie and Brian Daboll have the same agent.  Maybe some back channel negotiations already happened.

And today's events and listening to Lurie, NO DOUBT CARSON WENTZ IS THE WEEK 1 STARTER NEXT YEAR.  SUCK IT HATERS.

"We're only as good as the people we surround ourselves with"

WTF does that even mean? Is he saying the scouts are the issue? Joe Douglas/Andy Weidl? I really don't understand.

He's not saying anything.  To answer your question he's basically special pleading for Howie. He's completely blind that the problems are on him but then my question becomes... how...

That’s basically what i alluded to last night and today. I’d be shocked if they didn’t know or have an inkling that the coach they want would come here before this move.

Sounds like Wentz is back

Well it seems like they are planning on fixing Wentz. Next question will be about Hurts likely

Theyre gonna trade him. This team sucks.

If they need to interview minority candidates, then it's not Eric or Salah. all signs point to Riley.

Lurie blaming it on short term moves is total BS. Bad talent evaluation is far more to blame than this.

This is so Fing absurd.

Lurie is one those neighbours that you avoid talking to. When you see them outside and ask "How are you" turns into a 30 minute ramble

Bored of that. It's the same ish that we hear all the time. Complete nonsense.

If he brings up "gold standard" I will throw up.

So because our team sucks and is having obvious internal issues, you are abandoning ship for another team?

Generation Z at its best.

I don't agree, sounds like he's gone to me. If he was back he would've gushed over him and said so. He dodged the question every which way.

After Gase?

Culture change and all that

You want to let Doug near your young franchise QB after what he’s done to Wentz? I wouldn’t.

Jeffrey Jones.

It's the truth though.

You have to look at the big picture of Howie's failure

He's mailing it in. For the first time during his tenure, I wish we had a new owner.

U are very patient.  I've been waiting 3 years now.

We're living it you Fing idiot!!!

He literally said owner should not decide. If he was fully behind Wentz, he would have put the speculation to rest, he did not do that.

It's a cop out. Those decisions absolutely did hurt us but Howie's inability to draft is what's caused this issue. Fundamentally Howie is to blame but Lurie won't do it.

Its like Howie prepped him as to what to say. This is a dang waste.  We did not learn anything.

No alternatives are good when you lose.

Bring in strong GM, uh, how many are successful? The best don't move. And they can destroy a team for a decade.

Bring in a strong HC, and give them control over personnel, uh, look what happened when Reid got that power, or O'Brien in Houston.

Bring in a bright young HC who'll hire bright young assistants, have them work with Howie but focus on what they know, which is coaching.

Funny, the scouts complain that the coaches had too much say over the draft, then Pederson is whining that Howie didn't do what he wanted.

Think about Reagor, Pederson turns Agholor and his 4.4 speed into a slot receiver who wasn't worth paying for that role, who do you think lobbied for an explosive deep threat in the draft?

Pederson certainly didn't sound upset about drafting Hurts, for one thing, he knew he had to win in the next couple seasons and with Wentz getting injured, he needed a reliable backup QB. And Hurts is a much better fit for his RPO, which seems to be his bread and butter scheme.

Who lobbied to extend Jeffery, sign DeSean, replace Smith with Wallace? We don't know, but something tells me we'll find out.

Howie may not be the best drafter in the league, but he's far from the worst, and if the coaches could have actually gotten his picks to play in Philly, he actually brought in a pretty good haul the last five years - who is responsible for Darby, Ware, Poyer, Douglas, Jones, Sullivan, Agholor playing better elsewhere.

Takeaway from conference: Howie is GM for life or until Lurie sells the team.
