I don't agree, sounds like he's gone to me. If he was back he would've gushed over him and said so. He dodged the question every which way.

He seemed to give him great reviews comparing him to Peyton and such.  I guess we will see probably depends on the coaching hire.  If it is Riley I would imagine Wentz is gone and if it is someone like Daboll I think it will be Wentz going forward.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

He literally said owner should not decide. If he was fully behind Wentz, he would have put the speculation to rest, he did not do that.

Yep, we'll get a 1st from the Colts and Wentz will flourish under Reich. Meanwhile we'll be mired in mediocrity with Hurts.

Lurie's press conference is very good...unless you hate Howie. Otherwise, it's gotta be tough to listen to.

So basically Lurie wants answers from everyone but Howie

Gotta look at the big picture, eh Jeff...

Yes, I've really looked at it.   Over a multi-year period, your team has failed to fix the WR position... Every move you made has not worked.   That's a BIG picture.  Torry Smith out - Mike Wallace in  Whoops.  Mike Wallace out - Desean Jackson in .  Whoops.  Desean Jackson back - Whoops.  Alshon resigned - Whoops.  Alshon brought back, restructured - Whoops.   Nelson Agholor - Whoops.   JJAW over Metcalf/McLaurin - Whoops.   Jalen Reagor over Justin Jefferson - Whoops.

Wasn't Sudfeld the backup in the SB because he was the only other QB we had besides Foles? Wtf

No alternatives are good when you lose.

Bring in strong GM, uh, how many are successful? The best don't move. And they can destroy a team for a decade.

Bring in a strong HC, and give them control over personnel, uh, look what happened when Reid got that power, or O'Brien in Houston.

Bring in a bright young HC who'll hire bright young assistants, have them work with Howie but focus on what they know, which is coaching.

Funny, the scouts complain that the coaches had too much say over the draft, then Pederson is whining that Howie didn't do what he wanted.

Think about Reagor, Pederson turns Agholor and his 4.4 speed into a slot receiver who wasn't worth paying for that role, who do you think lobbied for an explosive deep threat in the draft?

Pederson certainly didn't sound upset about drafting Hurts, for one thing, he knew he had to win in the next couple seasons and with Wentz getting injured, he needed a reliable backup QB. And Hurts is a much better fit for his RPO, which seems to be his bread and butter scheme.

Who lobbied to extend Jeffery, sign DeSean, replace Smith with Wallace? We don't know, but something tells me we'll find out.

Howie may not be the best drafter in the league, but he's far from the worst, and if the coaches could have actually gotten his picks to play in Philly, he actually brought in a pretty good haul the last five years - who is responsible for Darby, Ware, Poyer, Douglas, Jones, Sullivan, Agholor playing better elsewhere.

ugh, now you're back to defending him again?

this place is always the same

Lurie just excused all the drafts to essentially everyone but Howie making mistakes and then said he will make any change necessary to win more SBs.

Every change except one of course.

Yup.

Reading between the lines, Doug wanted lots of short term moves to try to keep winning, Lurie and Howie obliged, and it didn’t work.

Sudfeld was unstoppable in his first start..... Are you kidding me Lurie.... That was a real quote people.

What has he said that was 'good'?  I must have missed it.

Lurie blaming it on short term moves is total BS. Bad talent evaluation is far more to blame than this.

This is so Fing absurd.

Makes me wanna storm the place with tear gas and tell him to stop with the bs lies.

Takeaway from conference: Howie is GM for life or until Lurie sells the team.

He surrounds himself with good people like Jeffrey Lurie.

Good on Howard Eskin for taking the question back

Good? How is it good? Full of BS predictable answers. He's defended the indefensible. That is not good.

25th Lurie, he clearly has lost mental capacity

Everyone in the blog wants us to rebuild in 2021.

Lurie is saying we need to rebuild.

Howie aside, we should be happy about this.

Lurie missed his calling as a politician, dude can spin BS like no one else.

shutup malcolm jenkins, you're not on this team no more, worry about the aints

That's like saying "aside from that guy shooting me in the face, this plan looks great"

Also makes the coaching position much more coveted. You know you’re going to get a couple years of leeway, maybe even get to pick your own guy at QB.

I heard it.   Weren't the Eagles shut out in that game?    How does 'unstoppable' = ZERO Points?    I mean.. yes, he had a high comp pct. 82.6%... but the team didn't score.   is the goal to complete every pass, or to score?   19 of 23 for 134 yards.   134 yards of passing.   That's 'unstoppable'?

ugh...

I thought Howie's PC was the worst ever....Lurie said just wait.  WOW, this is BAD.

So wait, Howie has good people around him.

They only draft bad because guys they want get drafted before them.

Sudfeld was such a great back up they had him the #2 in SB52 and they gave him a new contract....yet they use a 2nd rounder because they need a back-up??

WE ARE EFFFED until Lurie sells.
